"Best hotel I’ve stayed in on my trip. The family made me feel so welcome. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Lots of hot water. Food was great. They gave me a bike to cycle to the grasslands and did my washing for free! Also dropped me at the bus station. So kind and lovely. And the owner speaks perfect English."

"The room was great and the hotel's location was good, with warm and attentive service. The only downside was that the breakfast selection was very limited and not tasty at all. Perhaps it's due to limited resources here or the taste just didn't suit me."

"It was my first time to experience ******* houses. It was quite special. Their house was very big. The biggest highlight was that there was a large public area on the second floor where you could drink tea and chat, and children could walk around and play. The boss was very nice, and there were also breakfast drinks. The room was all wooden, and I personally was not used to the smell. I chose a private bathroom, but the room was very small. The one in the picture without a bathroom was very large. It depends on your personal preference."

"Our stay here was lovely, with kind staff. We are Australian and our check-in was easy. However, please note that the name of the hotel name is “Samphel Dhondup Hotel”, and it is located near the southern corner of 腾志路, Tengzhi Road, near the Monastery Ticket Centre and the river. This was confusing upon arrival. The heated floors were extremely hot, and not able to be turned off. Our room was a sauna, despite being -4°c outside (we had our window open the whole time). Hopefully this can be fixed. Breakfast was small but we were here during the offseason."

"Highly recommended! I think this B&B is the best in Xiahe County! The room was fully equipped and fully intelligent. It had a smart toilet, a temperature-controlled showerhead, a hair dryer, and all the necessary toiletries (a razor, toothbrush, and disposable toilet seat)—it was truly complete! It was actually quite warm at night, even a little hot. I didn't take any photos of the room, but it was exactly as shown. The sheets and pillowcases were spotless, and the room was spotless, with separate wet and dry areas. The owner was incredibly welcoming! They were so kind! They even gave me an umbrella when we went out to eat on a rainy day, and even called us to pick us up if we couldn't get a taxi. I was so touched! 🥹 The hot pot restaurant they recommended was also delicious and highly recommended (I forgot the name, but feel free to ask if you're interested). The lamb and beef were incredibly fresh! Even if you eat a lot, you won't feel greasy! In short, feel free to come! It's also quite close to Labrang, so you have to drive."

"It should be an old local hotel. It can be seen that the decoration was very careful at that time, but the sound insulation of the room is not that ideal. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and have a good attitude. When eating in the restaurant, I accidentally said that it was a bit cold due to the weather change. After hearing this, the service guy next to me immediately turned on the air conditioning and heating silently. He was very careful, attentive and considerate."

"This is a very unique and beautiful Tibetan-style guesthouse. The rooms were very clean, and there was plenty of hot water for showering. Breakfast is provided; it's simple but delicious. There's a famous restaurant nearby specializing in ******* cuisine, which we tried and highly recommend!"

"Very convenient location. Just walking distance to Labrang monestry. Really nice place and nice view from the hotel. Breakfast is nice and front desk attitude is friendly. Highly recommend. If you like to try some ******* style hotel, this will be the best option. Thanks"

"I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend staying here. The hotel is right next to the entrance of the monastery and most rooms have a nice view of the lively main street and the mountains behind. The rooms also have built-in heating so the room is not cold during the colder months. The bed is very comfortable. Staff doesn’t always speak English but they are very friendly. The hotel is a little bit outdated, but I think it is one of the best places to stay in Xiahe because of the location and it offers everything you need."

"Very nice staff and extremely close to the monastery entrance without the noise being too bad, tucked round a corner off the main drag. The rooms are spacious and comfortable - the only issue we had was no hot water for the first night/ morning - after we spoke to the lady at reception it was fine for the remainder of our stay. The bar area is nice, we didn't try the food but very cosy for drinks."
