"I traveled with my father and booked two double rooms, both near the road, which were a bit noisy. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 am, and it was packed with people. There were no seats, so we had to make do with a bowl of noodles and come back later. When we went back, we had to show our meal tickets. Luckily, there were two of us, so we had four meal tickets for the two double rooms, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to have breakfast. The TV was out of service. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained. Overall, I think this is the best hotel in Xiahe. If you want a more comfortable stay, this hotel is quite good. It's not far to walk to Labrang Monastery. Parking is free at the hotel, so you don't need to drive to the scenic area's parking lot. The price-performance ratio is quite good."

"Our stay here was lovely, with kind staff. We are Australian and our check-in was easy. However, please note that the name of the hotel name is “Samphel Dhondup Hotel”, and it is located near the southern corner of 腾志路, Tengzhi Road, near the Monastery Ticket Centre and the river. This was confusing upon arrival.
The heated floors were extremely hot, and not able to be turned off. Our room was a sauna, despite being -4°c outside (we had our window open the whole time). Hopefully this can be fixed. Breakfast was small but we were here during the offseason."

"The service was so warm. They even presented us with Hada after we arrived. We were the only family staying in the hotel during the off-season in winter, but the service was not slack at all. The boss turned on the heating in our room in advance and prepared fresh yak yogurt, snacks and many other things. He really cared about us. I originally wanted to eat in the county town, but I ate directly in the hotel, which was also very good.
The whole manor is very large. It is recommended that everyone stay here during the peak season. We will come again."

After hearing this, the service guy next to me immediately turned on the air conditioning and heating silently. He was very careful, attentive and considerate."

"Facilities: The rooms are a bit small, but the blankets are very thick, so those who are sensitive to cold won't need to worry.
Environment: Very close to Labrang Monastery, within walking distance. During peak season, definitely don't drive there; the traffic will be terrible. Park at this hotel and walk; it's very convenient.
Breakfast: Beef noodles with an egg or porridge and steamed buns. The beef noodles at the partner breakfast shop are quite authentic. The beef noodles mentioned here are Lanzhou beef noodles, not Sichuan or Jiangsu style beef noodles.

"The rooms are well equipped and the room service and restaurant service are satisfactory. Two problems: First, the room temperature was too high, about 30 degrees, and there was no temperature control. I reported this to the hotel, and they said that the heating temperature in Xiahe is always that high and the hotel cannot control it. We opened the windows and drew the curtains, but didn't dare turn on the lights because there was a hotel across the street. We couldn't fall asleep in bed at all. It felt like we were in a scorching hot room with no ventilation or air conditioning. It was minus 14 degrees outside, but it was suffocatingly hot inside! We, an elder who was almost 70 years old, had to travel the next day, so we didn't sleep the whole night and just endured the scorching heat."

The service is unobtrusive, the tea brewing around the stove just enough to dispel the evening chill, and the gentle reminder of sunrise time holds a thoughtful, well-placed thought.
That night, the hot pot, simmering with the freshness of lamb, mingled with the laughter of the sisters. Outside the window, dusk deepened, and within the pot, the hustle and bustle of the human world rose.
It turns out that beauty never needs words.

CConnie_WanThe first homestay I stayed in during the trip to Gannan, the room was too much to expect, dry and clean, my husband couldn’t help reminding his daughter not to drag the suitcase on the ground as soon as he entered the room, the whole village should be a family-made homestay, and the meal was recommended by the boss. Relatives' homestay next door, The three big ones spent more than 100, and the beef and mutton and butter tea were very good. Breakfast is eight yuan per person, and it is just in time to go in before the traffic jam at Labrang Temple. It is perfect.

In the past two days, he had dinner and picked up and went to Labrang Temple. Brother Sanji drove his small three-wheeled drive to us. It was very good. Location and Natural Beauty
The hotel is nestled on the edge of the Sangke Grassland, offering vast grassland scenery as soon as you step out the door. On our check-in day, the welcoming owner offered to take us for a walk by a nearby stream. Verdant grass lay beneath our feet, dotted with wildflowers, the stream gurgled, and in the distance, cattle and sheep strolled leisurely. It felt like stepping into an untouched natural landscape. This immersive experience, detached from the hustle and bustle of life, was one of the greatest surprises of the trip.
Service is in the Details
What touched us most was the owner's thoughtfulness. Due to our tight schedule the next day, we planned to depart at 7:30 AM. We had planned to skip breakfast, but the owner specifically inquired about our departure time the night before and prepared a hot breakfast the next morning. Bread, milk tea, and side dishes...the simple fare held the most simple warmth, making us feel like family on a cool morning. This selfless enthusiasm far exceeds expectations of ”hotel service.”

The surrounding scenery is nice, the girl at the front desk is very friendly, and there's a man who I don't know if he's the boss or something, but he's also quite friendly. The only downside is that it gets quite noisy around 6 in the morning, and I don't know if it's the guests or the waiter... I forgot to take pictures. Overall, it's okay.

The breakfast room is on the first floor. It is very simple. The beef noodles have not eaten a piece of beef for two days... The front desk staff in and out of the lobby have been chasing dramas on the mobile phone.

GGuest UserThe dorm was very clean and equipped with a kettle, which was nice. I was the only guest during my stay. As mentioned in the other reviews, the dorm is located in the basement and you have to walk a bit to reach the toilet.
The „shower“ is located across the front desk. It’s a small room where the hotel is storing their cleaning equipment, so showering there is a quite dirty and unpleasant experience. As there are so many dorms in the basement (I would guess 50+ beds), I wonder how they would handle the situation if the hotel is fully booked.
Overall I would recommend staying there for one night, if you are not picky.

NNikoas4The hotel is extremely close to the monastery. Some people at the reception speak english and they can book you a private tour to visit the grasslands and the monasteries outside the city that otherwise would be unreacheables for 400rmb per vehicle. The room is big and the beds are warm.
