"It is close to Labransa and located within a residential area, so it is nice to experience the neighborhood atmosphere. However, since a heated mat is the only heating facility, it is a bit cold until it warms up. They even poured us tea, and overall, I liked the strong homey vibe."

"Conveniently located within walking distance to the labrang monastery (400m) west entrance. They could arrange for transportation around xiahe. Room was clean and spacious , just a little cold as we arrived in end may which makes it difficult to take a shower. Generally, we enjoyed our stay there. As we were staying there for 3 days, we later had to venture out further to try other food varieties. Would prefer if they could arrange for more affordable prices for non native speaking travellers when securing private car hires."

"The boss is a young couple who are very enthusiastic about introducing nearby attractions and food. They also find us a good parking space. The hotel facilities have everything. Very unique Tibetan-style homestay. There are disposable toilet sets and custom-made toothbrushes and combs. Breakfast is also made by the boss himself. It’s not easy to be busy. I will stay at their house next time."

"This was the most welcoming guesthouse I've ever stayed in. After a tiring afternoon of driving, the owner's warm hospitality completely made me forget my exhaustion. He helped us with our luggage, asked if we'd eaten, recommended nearby restaurants, and even shared his food with us. It was also my first time staying in a wooden house, and both the environment and cleanliness were fantastic. Anyone traveling with family and children should definitely try it. They even prepared breakfast for us when we left in the morning and saw us off at our next destination, inquiring about our plans. In short, it was a truly worthwhile trip."

"My stay at Nirvana Hotel was very pleasant and certainly different to other places I have stayed in the past. Wandhi Khar, the owner, is very welcoming. On the first day, he offered to take me to Sangke Grasslands as he was heading to Nirvana Resort. Eventually we started talking and I ended up at his resort which actually overlooks the grasslands. He was kind enough to stop along the way for me to take pictures and at his property, he showed me the path to take to go for a walk and enjoy the grasslands. He even offered me his coat as the temperature was cool. After my walk, we (including Joe) kept talking over a few glasses of beer after which, Joe dropped me back at the hotel in Xiahe. Wandhi Khar invited me back to the resort the following day but after walking all day long around Labrang monastery, I was very exhausted and sadly could not make it. I highly recommend Nirvana Hotel and Nirvana Resort. I’m well travelled (+50 countries) and it’s not often you meet people who will go out of their way. Wandhi Khar is very generous and welcoming. At the hotel, his staff was very helpful. For example she called the bus station to double check the departure time etc. I hope to come back and visit again in the future."

"I enjoyed my stay in Xiahe and in this hotel. The furnishings and amenities are not new ( in fact the toilet wash basin was detached from its mountings and there was a water drainage issue). There is no climate control but this would be common in places like this @ 3000m altitude where spring/summer temperatures range between 5°C to 15 or 22°C, so it isn't needed. The room boasts a great view of the river, the bed was comfortable, there is a kettle and free water supplied and a strong wifi signal. Labrang monastery is a 20 minute walk and the bus station is 15 minutes away. The best thing about this accommodation though is the attractive restaurant/bar/bistro. I dined and drank there every night. The Lhasa and Shangri-la beers are decent, as are the coffee, the pasta, the potato chips, and.pizza."

"This stay experience directly exceeded expectations, must be five-star praise! The location of the homestay is excellent, within walking distance to business districts and attractions, and it is very convenient to travel and eat. The whole house was cleaned spotlessly, the bathroom was separated from wet and dry without smell, and the toiletries were all available. The landlord is gentle and caring, and there is a problem in seconds. The overall quiet and not noisy, the price is far more than the surrounding hotels, has been recommended to friends, come back to the local must stay!"
