The neighborhood is called Ausable Acres where each home is separated from its neighbors by trees thereby offering considerable privacy. The Acres has a lake, miles of trails for hiking or cross-country skiing and a picnic pavilion area. For fisherpersons, there is access to the Ausable river less than two miles away. Within three miles is a Top’s Supermarket, Stewart’s Gas and Convenience store, movie theatre, pizzeria and liquor store.The interior of the cabin is constructed with tongue and groove knotty pine throughout. The bedroom has a new queen size log bed. The bathroom is newly remodeled. There is a sitting area with a wood stove, kitchen, dining area, a desk with ample room for writing in your journal or laptop and an area with comfy chairs for just relaxing. The home has a three-zone electric heating system, so a wood fire is optional. There are two USB charging stations and high-speed internet. The kitchen has an electric cooktop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, dishes and lots of cookware that allow our guests to prepare a home cooked meal or breakfast. In warmer months enjoy relaxing on the front porch or cooking on the gas grill in the side yard which also has a picnic table. Our cabin is designed for one or two guests. Absolutely no pets are allowed. The loft is not accessible. The living room has a sofa that unfolds to make another double size bed. There are 2 full bathrooms with brand new bath/showers. The kitchen is fully renovated with custom stone countertops and brand new appliances including an electric stove/oven, an ultra-quiet dishwasher, and a refrigerator. A microwave, toaster, and blender are provided along with plenty of cookware, dinnerware, and an assortment of spices. A coffee maker is also provided along with coffee beans and a grinder for freshly ground coffee. The living room has a wood burning fireplace and a 40 inch TV. Downstairs is a game room with a shuffleboard table, a table for playing cards and boardgames, and record player with an assortment of vinyl records. The newly built front deck has a wood burning fire pit and a charcoal grill for BBQ. Located 10 minutes from Whiteface Mountain and 25 minutes from Lake Placid, our wilderness retreat is the perfect respite.AuSable Acres offers 10 miles of hiking/snowshoeing/cross-country ski trails, a lake for fishing as well as tennis & pickleball courts.The spaceEnjoy our peaceful and secluded 4 bedroom 2 bathroom chalet-style cabin that sits on approx 1 acre. The ground floor offers two bedrooms with a Queen sized bed and a full sized bed. There is also a full bath. The washer and dryer are in the second bedroom for your use.On the main floor, there is a bedroom with a twin to king trundle and a full bathroom. The living room offers a dining table for 4 , a wood-burning stove, TV and access to the deck.PLEASE NOTE:The deck has lower banisters and railings than today's standards, so please be aware if you have small children.The loft offers a queen sized bed. It stays toasty in the winter with a roaring fire!There is a mini-split system in the main room and the basement. The mini-split upstairs carries well through the kitchen, loft and bedroom.Guest accessThe entire chalet and forested land is yours to call home. We also upgraded the kitchen and now have a complete set of GreenPan Cookware. In case you've never heard of it, it's great stuff! Enjoy the Adirondack lifestyle in this brand new, secluded log cabin. Located at the end of a 150 foot driveway on a quiet road in “Ausable Acres”, the Cayuga Cabin provides a quiet getaway but is close to all the High Peaks attractions. If a half a dozen cars go by, thats a busy day. Pets are welcome.The Cayuga Cabin comes completely furnished for any length stay - full kitchen with great cookware, dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer, gas grill and even a whirlpool tub, located in the main bath, are on the premises. Two TV’s with cable make the Cayuga Cabin very family friendly. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, one with a queen, the other a double. There are two singles in the loft. Second full bath is in the basement. The Cayuga Cabin is a 5 minute walk to fishing access in the renowned West Branch of the Ausable River and 20 minutes to Whiteface Mountain, Santa’s Workshop and High Falls Gorge. The Olympic Village of Lake Placid is less than 25 minutes as is Ausable Chasm – the nation’s oldest natural attraction. Montreal, Quebec and Burlington, Vermont are easy day trips. The finest hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and cross-country skiing in the High Peaks are all at your fingertips. When you come home from a day of Adirondack adventure relax on the spacious deck or in the whirlpool tub. Within the Ausable Acres development you have access to several hiking and cross-country skiing trails, tennis courts and the Lake Eaton Picnic & Playground area. For the golfer there are 6 courses ranging from 30 to 60 minutes away.10 minutes away is the “Jay swimming hole” on the East Branch of the Ausable River which was listed in Sports Illustrated as on of the top 10 swimming holes in the US.
