"Such a charming location. Unfortunately we were only there only one night and it rained so we could not explore the grounds like we would have liked to. We had a delicious dinner (pre-order to give the chef time to plan/prepare). We moved into the living room for post dinner wine by the fire place and had wonderful conversation with another guest. Our suite was wonderful and had everything we needed, we only wish we had stayed longer. Breakfast was breads, fruit, meat and cheeses on a buffet, but also hot options (eggs, bacon) A lovely retreat. We will return to enjoy more time."

"This hotel is using a former convent / army barrack site. Its definitely historical, therefore most items look ancient. However, toilet is spacious with bidet, bidet faucet & bathtub. Hot water needed some time to heat up during shower. NO toothbrush, paste, razor provided. Just hand wash and shower liquid soap, 2 paper cups and a hair dryer. Indeed, the towels are in need of replacement. NO kettle in the room as well. Small TV is new, channels include cartoonito, France24, TLC, AXN, Biggs, Euro News, syfy, TRT world, sports etc. There is a gated carpark for about 20 cars and its FOC. We just parked our car here and explored the city by foot. This historical building is interesting for kids to explore, kind of feel like staying in a Castle. There is NO lift for higher floor rooms and Swimming Pool. 1 122 The breakfast was alright. A coffee mqachine. Ham, cheese slice, eggs, mushrooms, fresh fruits, bread, viennoiserie psstry, pastel de nata. Room rate fluctuating too much. I will still consider to stay during off peak season."

"Very enjoyable stay in Elvas, hotel is located in a renovated building that served among others as army barracks. Very customer oriented reception staff and well attended to our needs. Rooms are of good size, however the mattresses seem a bit on the cheap side. Hotel has inside and outside pools, spa and massage services. There is plenty of parking areas near the hotel and the indoor parking is well priced at 7.5 euros. The central atrium is quite enjoyable. buffet breakfast is of good value."

"Our room had two single beds, a wardobe with safe, portable luggage rack, writing desk and chair, reverse cycle A/C and small TV (with over 100 channels!). However, there was no fridge. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, hair dryer and bidet. Fortunately, our room overlooked the bridge and roads outside which provided great views. There did not seem to be any food outlets close to the hotel and a drive into town or dinner at the hotel (which we had) seem the only options. The only hot food at breakfast was scrambled eggs and small sausages, plus cereal and fruit. We only stayed the one night so are unable to effectively rate quality of service, etc."

"This was a very nice room. We stayed at the Batalha one. Nicely furnished, if a bit cold. We cranked the AC on max all night just to be comfortable. But the bathroom was still icy cold. They provided a space heater but it just took too long to use the bathroom quickly. So you just endured. Slightly odd that there was a small room with two windows right next to the bathroom with no use when the bathroom could have natural light instead. They advertised the option of a breakfast basket but sadly it was unavailable and the coffee shops nearby were either packed or didn’t seem very sanitary. There were just a couple of oversights in the apartment. One was the lack of plugs/USB near the bed. There was only one on each side and it was in use by the lights on the night table. The other one was the lack of a bench / hangers in the bathroom to hang your clothes / extra towels. You have to throw them on the floor. And it had enough room for a bench in a nook. Everything else was great."
