"We stayed at this hotel because we were upgraded from their sister property from outside the national park. This was considered a more luxurious alternative. The advantage of this hotel was that it was inside the park and that meant that we could stay inside the park during the game drives at sunset and sunrise. This meant that we could escape the rugby scrum of vehicles cramming together to take pictures of predators or elephants crossing the road with Kilimanjaro at the background. The hotel was given 4 stars as the food is basically very average and they tend to ignore couples and focus on bigger groups. The rooms are functional and pretty decent but not luxurious. Do note that this hotel does not have a Kilimanjaro view from the balcony. You either face a swamp or a field. Hence AI reviews are wrong unlike the properties outside the park. The staff were okay but we felt ignored as mentioned. They were only attentive went they carried our luggage to and from the room to our vehicle and will hang around until you provide them with a tip. Other than that, they wont bother you. I gave 4 star due to access to the park mainly. The rest were not top notch."

"Had a great stay with my adult daughter. The tents are very large and have tile floors, lots of room and a very nice bathroom. The view of the mountain from the pool is amazing if you have a chance to take a dip and cool off after a day of safari. Right by an entrance to Amboseli."

"I found the food okay, but the room was where I had an issue. It was incredibly hot and what didn’t help was the ceiling fan was outside of the mosquito nets and was thus ineffective. Out of my 8 day safari, I slept the worst here and sweat so much. In hindsight, I should have asked for a fan. I had no issues with the room but not being able to sleep properly and it being hot was a huge let down and one that would make me not return. Also, upon checking in, I found the front desk not polite. I had given my passport to the lady and she didn’t return it. I then said to her that she didn’t give me my passport to which she responded yes I did. She then looked down and realised she hadn’t gave it to me and slammed it on the desk when my hand was stretched out. The front desk staff I found very stand offish and cold but the dining staff were much friendlier."

"We stayed here for 50th birthday celebrations and it was perfect. We had 4 nights here and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage’s we’re beautiful and you felt like you were camping put had the luxury of a hotel. Rooms were beautiful, large bed with mosquito net. Loverly bathroom with views of the waterhole. They offer free laundry service back same day. We had the waterhole straight in front of our room and saw lots of animals even a massive elephant. Pool is very clean, had a massage which was good. Food and drink all included and it was excellent. Staff were very friendly and very attentive. Game drives were good. Would highly recommend"
