📍 Av. da República 1, Faro

"It was a good stay but the hotel is bit old and not like the pictures. I feel its bit expensive compared to the quality of the rooms. Staff and services are great but would appreciate if they can renovate their superior rooms with sea view. Otherwise it’s in a good location .. close to the train station and most of the restaurants."

Occidental Faro ★★★★

📍 Praça Dom Francisco Gomes 2, Faro

"I recently stayed at this hotel and was very impressed by its central location – wherever you’re heading in Faro, it’s generally no more than a six-minute walk. It’s ideal for exploring the city on foot. The standout feature for me was the rooftop restaurant and bar. The views over the sea are absolutely stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset – a perfect spot to unwind with a drink. Breakfast was another highlight: a fantastic spread with a huge variety of options, well presented and regularly replenished. Rooms are modern, spacious, and well designed, offering a comfortable stay. The gym looked well equipped, though I didn’t use it during my visit. Service was fine – polite and efficient, but very much in line with what I’ve come to expect in Portugal: functional, with no one particularly going out of their way. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a clean, modern hotel with a great location, excellent breakfast, and memorable views."

📍 R. de Portugal 17, Faro

"Unfortunately, the stay was not very comfortable. The room heater was not working, making the room extremely cold during winter. There was also a very loud noise coming from the air conditioner; this was reported to the staff, but no action was taken. The room itself is very small, and the shower area in the bathroom is also quite cramped. While the hotel is affordable, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. That said, the receptionists were kind and polite, which was appreciated."

📍 R. de São Jose, Estoi

"This hotel is steeped in religious ambiance, and its public areas feature uniquely styled architecture. The service is attentive, and the restaurant boasts excellent views. While the food selection isn't vast, it's delicious. The rooms are well-proportioned, and the mattress ensures a sound sleep. Located in the mountains, the pool area is serene, making it a perfect choice for a peaceful retreat."

📍 R. Francisco Barreto 32 34, Faro

"Faro, the capital of the Algarve, reminded me of Phuket Town. However, the old town of Faro is more photogenic. This hotel is located near the old town, as are the bus and train stations. The hotel has a nice design; you can relax in the courtyard outside the restaurant, which has a small soaking tub. This place is a base for hiking along the Algarve coast. The Algarve coast is very beautiful and a popular vacation spot for Americans. Faro Airport is modern and stylish."

"Check-in took quite a long time, and then the room key wasn't coded correctly. The shuttle to the airport and breakfast started too late for me to use them—unfortunately, I wasn't aware of that."

Pousada Palácio Estoi, Faro - Small Luxury Hotels of the World ★★★★★
"We booked four rooms for three days, but when we arrived at the hotel lobby, there was only a small door leading to it, and flies were swarming inside. It was definitely not worth the 1300+ yuan. The air conditioning in the rooms was also broken and not working. We left immediately, losing a lot of money on four rooms for three days. Could Ctrip offer me some compensation?"

"The location of 3HB Faro Hotel is excellent, right in the old town of Faro. There are many restaurants nearby where you can relax and enjoy life. It's also very close to Faro Airport. The breakfast is delicious and changes daily. The beds are very clean, and the service is superb; they even gave us a free ride to the train station when we checked out."
