"This hotel at the foot of the Zugspitze offers stunning views, a quiet, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere. It's a bit of a drive from Garmisch, and while parking is free, it's not convenient for train travel, so I wouldn't recommend it. The restaurant was especially wonderful; breakfast was fantastic. I'd definitely go back."

"I booked this accommodation to visit Lake Eibsee and Čukpitze. However, every room has a balcony and the view is amazing, so I was completely satisfied!! The location is a bit far from the city center, but you can ride the bus for free with a guest card. There is a bus stop right in front of the accommodation, so I was able to get around without any inconvenience! I recommend it~"

Romantik Alpenhotel Waxenstein

"We stayed 2 nights at the Romantic. We are very happy we stayed, and it is a gorgeous little property hidden in Grainau. It feels authentic and the view from the main lobby deck is stunning as you can see the highest mountain in Germany. Quite literally, we said it was the best breakfast we had ever had. The food was so fresh and delicious, and the view took it over the top. We had a basic room for 2 with a balcony. It is true, as I've seen in other reviews, that the rooms are very small. If you are spending most of your time exploring the area, this won't matter much, because the bed and all inside is well done and comfy. There is no aircon, so in the summer months this can be a snag! We had to keep the door open which meant some light came in so we didn't have the blackout effect we would have had if it was closed. It did get kind of stuffy. I'm sure in the winter and the heater is going its nice, but for summer that was not the best! Also another thing to point out is that the walls are very thin. Our next door neighbors were quite loud and we could hear them the entire time till they decided to go to bed haha. I give this an excellent rating because I believe in comparison with other hotels I saw in the area that Romantik is the best and you'll have these problems at all other properties! I would stay here again - despite everything!!"

"The Alpspitz Hotel does not need any extensive review. Most of the reviews I read meet. You can refer to them. However, the family, jewelry hotel in chalet style, seems friendly and invited from the beginning. It is covered by cleanliness and style. The boss and the employees were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and cozy, the facilities were practical. Despite the main street that passed before the house, the room was quiet, displaced from the HS. There are enough outdoor parking spaces available. We spent 4 nights there. The breakfast was rich and varied, it missed nothing. Best coffee on our German stay. Thank you again!"

Barbara and her mother Christine have paid close attention to the details. Barbara even sent a email to make sure our stay was going well. Can’t say enough about the charm of this place. Landhaus Steinbrech

"We stayed at Ferienhotel Landhaus Steinbrech in Grainau and, first of all, we would like to say that the location is pleasant and the apartment was clean. Everything was in good order upon arrival. The check-in and check-out process was very straightforward. The key was left in the door when we arrived, and when we departed, we followed the instructions and left the key in the door as requested. We did this properly and respectfully. However, this story has an unpleasant ending. At around 10:00 PM, several hours after we had already left the apartment, we received a phone call from someone claiming to be the cleaning lady. She alleged that we had broken a bedside lamp and stated that we would receive an invoice for the damage. She also claimed to have taken photographs as evidence. This situation raises serious concerns. First of all, we are honest and well-mannered people. If we had accidentally damaged anything, we would have reported it immediately and taken responsibility for it. Secondly, it is not acceptable to accuse guests of damaging property when no inspection was carried out in our presence at the time of departure. Without a proper check-out inspection by a staff member or the owner, it is impossible to determine when or by whom any damage may have occurred. Unfortunately, this creates the impression that guests could be unfairly charged for pre-existing or unverified damage. We sincerely hope that this was an isolated incident. If not, prospective guests should be aware of this risk before making a booking. Apart from this issue, the accommodation itself was satisfactory, but this experience has left a very negative impression."

Ferienwohnungen Zugspitze

"We enjoyed a lovely week-long stay in this beautiful two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment looking out to the Zugspitze. The private terrace was an additional bonus where we enjoyed the stunning views. Our stay was in a first floor unit, with an additional bathroom and bedroom on the lower level; we did not use the lower level. The unit was spotlessly clean, and there was plenty of hot steamy water with great water pressure. Sufficient linens and towels were provided. Everything was modern and attractively decorated. The stovetop and oven allowed us to prepare full meals, once we conquered the tap and swipe technology of both. There were multiple pots and pans for the stovetop, and one small baking dish for the oven. Laundry machines are available in the building, but it should be noted that these are shared with the housekeeping staff. We used them only once, and line-dried our clothing to minimize the impact on the staff. A large drying rack is provided in the apartment. The cleaning staff is very accommodating, but we chose not to intrude on their time and schedules. Franziska was a very attentive host, available, present in the office adjacent to our unit each morning. She was friendly, helpful, and very flexible when our arrival and departure dates kept shifting because of our flight schedule. We hated to leave this gorgeous village and this attractive and pleasant apartment. We are already hoping for a return to one of the apartments hosted by Franziska or Carolin this winter."
