"A decent women's dorm with curtains, though the sink was a bit clogged and dirty, and no one cleaned it. The booking was clear. I wouldn't dare book a mixed-gender dorm, though, as that only seems to be for foreigners, haha! But the people there were very polite; everyone would give a 'WeChat' or 'Hi' when you met them. Strangers would also help if you asked for directions, which I really appreciated!
However, when it comes to money, I feel like it's the same everywhere. I didn't know I needed a ticket to the castle, and I only had 8 pounds left, just enough for the bus. They didn't accept Visa, and without cash, the person just told me to go away!
Transportation there is like in China; you can't use Visa, but it's cheaper than in the UK for buses. Glasgow has the most expensive bus fares.
For shopping, most chain stores accept Visa, which is convenient. Otherwise, carrying cash is heavy, and those coins are a pain.
Youth hostels in London weren't as good; no curtains, and it seemed like a lot of people in one room. I didn't look too closely, so it wasn't clear.
Hotels in Ireland are too expensive, so this was an experience, I guess, haha!"
