"An unforgettable experience; staying in a Tulou was incredibly special. The host was incredibly welcoming and even gave us helpful tips for our trip! The Tulou itself was meticulously maintained. The room was great and very comfortable. Although our room didn't have an en-suite bathroom, we had convenient access to one in another room. Stepping out, we were greeted with beautiful views of the Tulou's courtyard and the sky. At night, once the Tulou closed to visitors, it became incredibly quiet. The red lanterns were still lit, creating a truly captivating atmosphere. It was also very convenient that we could freely visit the nearby Chengqi Building at night."

"I would highly recommend Changdi Inn, housed in a family owned tulou in a peaceful spot by the river in the village. a very unique experience! Our host Steven spoke great English and was the most friendly and helpful host. Our dinner was prepared by the mother and we could enjoy that and breakfast in the tulou courtyard. Very special !"

"The inn is located on the main road 30 meters away from the entrance of the scenic area and is easy to find. It is a small inn with spacious and bright rooms, clean and tidy beds, and complete bathroom facilities. There is a large earth building opposite the entrance of the inn. It is very beautiful, especially at night. When the lights are turned on, it is very beautiful. There are performances in the earth building at night. I was lucky enough to see the fireworks. I was very happy. The boss is very enthusiastic and warm. They also have catering services in their store. I stayed at his house for a day and had three meals there. The food was delicious and it felt like home.

In the Yuan Dynasty, the Mongolian empire was so massive that it became necessary to develop what was likely the most efficient postal system the world had ever seen up till then. In the following Ming Dynasty, China inherited and refined the imperial postal system so that there was an abundance of stage-posts in the empire to provide lodging for couriers delivering imperial edicts, and traveling officials.
If you think it’s expensive to stay in such a gorgeous and unique building, think again. We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and value for money of this place, as well as the friendliness of the staffs.
