While I have never understood the origin of the name, of all things a white horse in Kabale, the place evokes such wonderful memories for me. The rooms are alright and the prices ok matched with a good location."

The staff were all helpful and professional and even turned down our room for us because n the evening. The food was delicious! "Great relaxing time. We were the only guests. Food was very good as was the service. Rained on way to Island and the boat driver pulled over so we got sheltered, so kind. He also on the way back showed us the National bird sitting on her eggs. He showed us Punishment Island. Funny story. On our Island their is bunnies and a pair of Geese. We saw a lizard as well. Docks served us and made sure we we comfortable. She is a lovely and helpful person and does her job well. A wonderful stay"

"My wife and I spent 2 nights here as part of our honeymoon journey through Uganda and we couldn't have been happier with our stay! The rooms were fantastic with great facilities, a comfy bed and our own balcony with an incredible view. As it was our honeymoon, the room and the tablw for every meal we had was decorated beautifully with flowers, which was a lovely surprise. What really made our time here special was the staff. A special thanks goes out to Ken, Silas and Rolian, who made sure all our needs were met. We also did the island boat trip and tubing on the lake with them and had so much fun. You guys were great fun, had amazing energy, and we had the best time thanks to you all. I would highly recommend to stay here to anyone!"

"My husband and I visited Hakyiri for a short getaway break, and we can confirm it was the best decision ever. Right in the heart of Kabale Town, one would imagine a noisy environment but what we experienced was complete and uttermost serenity. The beautiful place became home for us the staff were very professional, yet very hospitable. The rooms are spotlessly clean and immaculate. The breakfasts are as tasty as they appear on the photos, plus I could access my beloved Netflix I could go on and on and on... If you are looking for tranquil away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Hakyiri is the place to be. I could recommend it again and again and again."

"We stayed at the resort 2 days during our safari to Uganda. The first impression was good, the place is big and has several different buildings and accommodations. It is clearly a “resort” build to accommodate several people, and our visit was probably out of season. The expectations we got coming into the area were however not meet during our stay. The team of staff seemed disorganized, they were friendly, but seemed as if they did not really know what to do and how to do it. The restaurant is big, has a nice view over the lake. The ala carte menu had several options, but a lot was sold out. The food was not good, we got I.e. fish which clearly was not fresh. We had to wait extremely long ( more than 30 min) for our food to be served even though we had ordered several hours before. The food for our table was not served at the same time which to us is awkward. The room was spacious, had a good bath with hot water. We had a balcony with a good view over the lake. "
