Pasiphae Hotel ★★★

📍 Skala, Kalloni

"Have just returned after spending a very relaxed week at this hotel. The location is ideal for restaurants, the beach and ideal for walking as the area is very flat. The hotel itself is very well run and rooms are also cleaned very well. Breakfast is buffet style and there was always a good selection to choose from. We found all staff to be both helpful and friendly. Being a smaller hotel we found that there was a good mix of guests and had some good times around the bar in the evening and with our neighbour. (Jayne, it was a pleasure to meet you). Was also good to experience some of the Greek culture that still exists on the island Would 100% recommend"

📍 Epar.Od. Kallonis-Skala Eresou, Skala, Kalloni

"We’ve just come back from a wonderful holiday at this hotel. If you’re the sort of people who like hotels that are generic and could be anywhere in the world, this isn’t for you. If however you want a whole lot of character and charm, immaculately clean, with beautiful views, lovely staff, and a great Greek experience, I’d highly recommend the Aegeon. It’s in a quiet spot, but it’s an easy walk into the village where you’ll find enough restaurants to give you plenty of choice. If you decide to stay round the pool, I’d highly recommend the Greek pizza, just fab! The hotel puts on a Greek bbq night once a week, which most of the guests attended and was great fun. We hired a car and spent the day exploring the island, which is really lovely. It’s a far more authentic experience than the more commercial islands like Rhodes or Corfu. We’re definitely looking to come back again, following in the footsteps of a large number of other returning visitors. Thank you again Antonetta and all the staff of the Aegeon, we’ll see you again soon."

Malemi Organic Hotel

Malemi Organic Hotel ★★★

📍 Skalla Kallonis, Kalloni

"I really enjoyed Malemi. This is not a corporate chain hotel, it's unpretentious, family run and serves the local community as well as tourists. A choice of good, wholesome home-cooked food rather than pizza, burgers and chips. Plenty on offer for veggies. Decent rooms and comfy beds. Within 10 minutes walk of the square in Skala Kallonis. The resort is a great base for walking and cycling around the Gulf of Kalloni but it is small and quiet. Public transport is poor, so you'll need to think about renting a car (the roads are very quiet) or booking excursions if you want to see much of the island. Lesvos is the most beautiful of the Greek islands I've visited, no sprawling high rise resorts like Rhodes or Crete but endless forests, mountains, unspoiled villages and blue waters."

📍 Skala, Kalloni

"We just completed our first stay here and we could not have been more happy about the experience. We come to Kalloni regularly to visit family, and this is by far the best hotel in the area. The warm welcome and complete dedication to service reflected Greek culture but also the belief of the brothers who own the hotel. To top it off, the food was excellent! TIP: The beach at the hotel is excellent. Suggest avoiding the beach at Skala Kalonis as it is just average. If you want to do something different, drive to Vatera or Xambelia for other great beaches."

Kalloni Bay ★★★

📍 Skála Kallonís, Kalloni

"I read the reviews for The Kalloni Beach Hotel before I visited and was not really looking forward to it! However, although I agreed with some of the new comments, like the cold food and the need for updating the bathrooms, there were also positives too! The food was lovely, although the main course was always only luke warm at best, even though we were first down for dinner. I did report this to the receptionist, so hopefully this may change🤞The rooms and bathrooms are in need of updating, particularly replacement of shower curtains with screens which are much easier to clean, again this was reported to the receptionist who told me that there is an ongoing refurbishment of the bathrooms. The beach nearby is, at the beginning of May, a disgrace and the council should be ashamed that the beach is not cleaned at the beginning of the season. If you are booked at Kalloni Beach, you will have to rely on the swimming pool for sun bathing. On a positive note, the bed linen was very new and clean and towels were changed regularly. The staff were all very friendly, pleasant and eager to help. I would re visit with a hope that some upgrading had been carried out."

Pasiphae Hotel ★★★
"Our second time to Skala Kallonis but the first to Pasiphae and it was everything we expected from reading previous reviews. We were allocated a ground floor room but advised on check in that if we would prefer an upper floor room one would become available in a few days if we wished to move. We were happy with our room so opted to stay there. Spotlessly clean and modern room with loads of storage space, very comfy bed and pillows, fridge and aircon included (which we needed as very hot whilst we were there). A huge bathroom adapted for people with mobility issues. Beautiful clean pool and very well kept gardens and comfy sunbeds. Good choice of food at breakfast including bacon, eggs etc which were always hot and constantly replenished. We did sometimes struggle to get a table in the shade at breakfast but the hotel was full and we probably came to breakfast at the most popular time. We had two separate bathroom issues which we reported to Bill at breakfast time and both were fixed immediately. Bill has a fantastic team working there but we have to have a special mention to the three girls working the breakfast, lunchtime food and the pool bar - Marianthi, Susanna and Nicky (apologies if incorrectly spelled) they were all amazing, always happy and smiling and very friendly. Would we return to Pasiphae? Definitely."

Aegeon Hotel ★★★
"Very quiet location, a few minutes walk from to sea shore and 10 min walk from the center of Skala Kalloni. Very polite and friendly staff, free parking, swimming pool... decent breakfast included. Rooms are big and have terraces, although furniture is outdated. Overall good deal for a short stay."

Malemi Organic Hotel ★★★
"On arrival the hotel looked ok but when we went in our room it was obvious we had made an error of judgment. After reading some of the other 5 star reviews we thought we had booked a lovely traditional greek hotel but i can only assume these reviewers have never been abroad before if they think this hotel is nice. The room itself was bearable but the food at breakfast and dinner was way below standard in choice variety and quality so much so that we ate out after the first few days. The pool area was ok except for swimming lessons for the local children every morning and then to top it off the local teenagers came late afternoon and used the pool having said that this was the only time you could get any service at the pool bar and in the evening there was nobody available for drinks in the hotel bar. The resort itself was lovely and had many nice inexpensive restaurants and bars so our holiday was not ruined. We will be returning next year to this beautiful resort but definitely staying elsewhere. I am very disappointed with Jet2 as i expected much better having travelled with them for many years."

Kalloni Village Apartments ★★★
"The hotel We went to this small village with our two daughters. The gardens are beautifully kept, very green, with flowers and palm trees. The houses have nice facades and overall well kept. We loved that although you need to share the pool with the guests next door, it was not really busy, sometimes it felt like you had a private pool. They give the pool good maintenance, I saw that they would also check the quality of the water. The house is indeed a bit outdated, but this adds charm to the place. They clean the house daily (except Sundays) and you can ask for clean towels. The staff was always polite and friendly. There is no supermarket in the premises, but the town is a mere 5 minutes by car where you can get all you need. There is a small kitchen well equipped, although the prices of the food are really affordable everywhere. There is also a small beach, close by, walking distance. I read that someone mentioned, murky water, but that is not true. The beach is clean and the water is not dirty, it just has water plants. You can easily go there for a swim. The restaurant The restaurant's food was delicious, I have to say that during our stay in the island the best meals (dinner) were at the hotel. I would recommend the sea bass and the Tigania. The waiter, Nicolas was really very friendly and his recommendations were always right. Breakfast was ok, eggs (hard boiled, fried and scrambled), sausages, ham, feta cheese, yoghurt with jams and cereal. They also had different kinds of bread and home made quiches (which were actually very tasty). The fruit, melon and watermelon. There is also a coffee machine, apple juice and some kind of lemonade, no fresh juices. There was enough choice for everyone. I only missed, (maybe in the weekend) something different for the kids, like fresh pancakes. The Greek night was a lot of fun, the ambiance, music and the show were great. Even the staff was dancing. I would definitely recommend it. The side of the pool is nicely decorated, make sure to reserve a spot on time. The location You do need a car to visit the rest of the island, there is no hotel entertainment, but we already knew that and we really didn't mind, some days we stayed by the pool in the hotel, other days we went exploring the near by towns with our rental car. Lovely island, everyone is friendly, the lounge chairs and umbrellas at the different beaches are always free of charge, you just need to order a drink by the restaurants. And the food is also really good. Cons, The beds are hard, it is already mentioned by other reviews. My husband had more trouble than me on this. The pillows were lumpy, if you are fuzzy about pillows, bring your own. Trash cans were almost broken and the washing machine had mold. My daughters forgot her cuddly toy, it was unfortunately not found... Despite this we really like the place and if we ever decide to go back to Lesbos we will definitely go back to this hotel. "

"We have had our first week at this hotel. We had a great relaxing time. The staff are all very friendly & more than helpful. The breakfasts are very enjoyable. The pool area is great with plenty of sun beds. The room we were in 218 needs the shower updating the shower curtain needs to be removed & replaced with a glass screen on the outside of the drain. The management surprise me,no UK tour operators now list this hotel making it very expensive uk citizens to travel. If a uk tour operator was used we could travel with our cases & transfer to the hotel included in the price. Without the operator we have to pay the extra costs involved."
