"We stayed here for two nights and it a great place to stay. The self catering apartments are all very spacious and well equipped with great facilities. The beds were very comfortable too. Unfortunately the food wasn’t the greatest but it wasn’t a big problem. The staff were friendly. It doesn’t serve alcohol but they let you bring your own. There’s a small pool area. It’s also conveniently located next to a Nando’s and filling station and a couple of other shops."

"Rustiek Hotel, Kasane – A True Gem! Our stay at Rustiek Hotel was absolutely fantastic. The place is quirky in all the right ways—full of character, charm, and warmth—while still being very comfortable. It ended up being the highlight of our entire time in Africa, which is saying a lot given everything we experienced on this trip. The atmosphere feels personal and welcoming, and every detail adds to its unique vibe. Thank you to everyone at Rustiek for making our stay so memorable. We left with big smiles and full hearts, and we’ll be recommending you to anyone visiting Kasane!"

Thebe River Safaris

📍 Lease Area 76, Kasane
★★★ 7.7 (15 reviews)

"Nice property in Kasane with nearby supermarket and fast food. Pool is not great. Rooms weren’t bad but a bit tight for space, with great climate control. Only 1 key provided which was annoying. Check in was chaotic with excessive numbers of forms - this can be made much more efficient. Wifi was generally working but sometimes spotty. Game drive through the lodge was good."

Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa

Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa

📍 Chobe River, Plot 2239 President Ave, Kasane
★★★★★ 8.2 (50 reviews)

"Large safari themed resort with close proximity to Chobe National Park and Chobe River. Great spa and massage facilities and also adjacent to the 9 hole Chobe Golf Club. Decent breakfast and dinner buffets, although the meats are a battle. Be wary of venturing out on the property after dark as wild animals may present an unwanted meeting. Overall, a comfortable and friendly resort."

"It is a perfect place to stay over for a night. The rooms are clean and spacious, staff is friendly and very helpful. We were able to safely store our caravan for two nights on their premises while we visited Lake Kariba without any hassle. Plus we had amazing Indian cuisine for dinner. Definitely recommended."

"The location of the Lodge, on a section of rapids packed with bird life, is wonderful. The Lodge is amazingly efficient, with great staff across the board. One of the highlights of our 5 days was the exceptional fishing guide. Feedback from our group indicated that they were all good but our guide, Robert, made our trip. His knowledge of bird life is encyclopedic - and he's an amazing fishing guide and great company. We were looked after at every turn: meals, drinks, snacks on every boat trip and visit to the bar, transport from the airport...simply exceptional"

Chobe Safari Lodges

Chobe Safari Lodges

📍 Airport Road, President Ave, Kasane
★★★★ 8.8 (48 reviews)

"The Lodge is a great place to stay. The rooms were attractive and looked out on a lawn and the river. Wart Hogs and Bush Bucks were seen every day on the lawn. The dining room and bar both had good views over the river. We did both the sunset river cruise and game drives. The river cruises had very good captains with extensive knowledge of the animals and birds. Any birder would be excited to have so many birds identified. Saw a lot of game coming to the river including Croc, hippo, elephant, cape buffalo and several types of deer/antelope. This was a very relaxing activity and the gin and tonic made it all the more enjoyable. Our game drivers did a good job trying to find a variety of animals. We were lucky enough to see a pride of lions and a couple of different leopards. Since we were there at the end of the dry season, most of the animals were spending a lot of time near the river, but we still saw a good bit of game when we were further inland. There are a lot of game drive vehicles in the park so if there is anything of particular interest (leopards/lions) the drivers usually hear about it, increasing your chance of finding the animal. The downside is that this means a lot of trucks around the animals, but the drivers were good about taking turns to get the best views. The food was good. At breakfast (after the morning game drive) you could order a hot meal and it was supplemented with a large buffet. The fruit was fresh and the bread choices were high quality/fresh baked. A lot of misc choices as well. Afternoon lunch was available at the bar area. A limited menu, but again the food was very good. For dinner there were a couple of place you could eat. We just went to the main dining area which had a buffet. Each night there was themed option (Italian, Indian, etc), but also a lot of other choice such as stir fry, carved chicken, carved beef etc. Again the quality and quantity was good. The rooms were well put together. Air Con worked and in the hot/dry season a blessing. There were attractive mosquito nets around the bed, at night, but we never saw any mosquitos inside or outside. WiFi was good. We were in a unit that was about a 5 minute walk to the main lodge, but that was fine. If mobility impaired, try to get a closer room. Bottled water was supplied, and some very light snacks were provided. The balcony let you look out over the river and see the animals on the lawn We would stay here again if we ever get back."

Tlou Safari Lodge ★★★
"Tlou Safari Lodge located behind the Tlou Safari Mall where Kasane starts and Kasungula ends. There is also a Puma fuel station. The lodge consists of bungalows with one or two bedrooms. The bungalows have a kitchen with a fridge, cooking plate, microwave oven, boiler and all utensils. A cosy sitting area invites to have a pause in front of the TV-set. You can also enjoy a romantic evening on a terrace. The bathroom has a bath tube and a shower. The air-conditioned bedroom attracts with a very comfortable bed. So, the rooms/bungalows are really very nice. But what makes this place better than other self-catering accommodations is a parking place near the house! The whole site is new and the garden is not yet blooms but the nice plants are already on their way and they will be lush and blossom in a few years. There is also a restaurant and the food was just outstanding. Perhaps, we had luck, but I have never eaten such a good steak in Botswana as it was in Tlou Safari Lodge! And I have been 17 times in Africa and most of them in Botswana. The food was served as a buffet and there was no waiting times. The breakfast was also great. So, I highly recommend visiting the restaurant. We also booked the boat cruise with Tlou Lodge and it was also great. The rates for activities are not high. It is really value for money! The cost/performance ratio is unbeatable. The personal is also very friendly and helpful. We booked already next trip and will stay in Tlou Safari Lodge but in the different bungalow to have a comparison. I wish Maun had also such an accommodation. It is very comfortable kind of accommodation for self drivers."

Traveling with friends
Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa ★★★★★
"From the moment we arrived at Cresta Mowana Safari Resort, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. I was travelling with dear friends from Canada (a couple and their son), and this trip will remain one of our most treasured memories — largely thanks to the outstanding care we received. A very special thank you to Malebogo Sechele, who elevated our stay from excellent to extraordinary. From day one, the service felt personal, thoughtful, and genuinely warm. Malebogo took specific care of us, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. She seamlessly arranged our game drives, transfers, and even organised our unforgettable day trip to Victoria Falls. Every detail was handled effortlessly and professionally, allowing us to simply relax and immerse ourselves in the beauty of Botswana. The game drives were spectacular — thrilling wildlife sightings, knowledgeable guides, and that indescribable feeling of being surrounded by untamed nature. Watching elephants move gracefully across the landscape and experiencing the stillness of the bush at sunset was magical. Our day trip to Victoria Falls was equally breathtaking — powerful, majestic, and beautifully coordinated from start to finish. It was one of those bucket-list experiences that leaves you humbled by nature’s grandeur. The food at the resort was superb — fresh, beautifully prepared, and varied. Every meal felt like an experience in itself. And the sunsets… absolutely glorious. Watching the sun melt into the horizon over the Chobe River, drink in hand, surrounded by friends — pure perfection. What truly sets this resort apart is the warmth of the people. The hospitality is authentic, attentive, and world-class. Because of how well we were looked after, my Canadian friends were so impressed that they are already planning their return visit in August. Botswana has my heart — and Cresta Mowana made it unforgettable. Malebogo Sechele is a treasure We will absolutely be back."

"We stayed overnight 31 December 2025 checking out 01 January 2026 as a family of two adult males, one adult female and one female child. The place is quite homely. Staff at the hotel from check-in and all areas we interacted with were very welcoming and helpful. The buffet dinner was reasonably priced, and excellent, the same for the breakfast. Restaurant staff served well and both meals had reasonable varieties. The layout of the restaurant on the inside and the outside was quite good and refreshing. While we did not use the pool it provided a relaxing environment to the outside garden at th back of the restaurant and adjoining the restuarant."

Ichingo Chobe River Lodge by Mantis ★★★★
"An authentic, African river experience in that the location of the tented camp is on the banks of the Chobe river under tall, dense trees. Huge diversity of birds which is ideal for bird photography. The Chobe river is a centre piece of the destination - beautiful in early morning & evening light. Lots of hippo & crocodiles add to the experience. The staff at both the lodge & river boat (Princess 3) are exceptional. Well trained & professional. And friendly. Nothing is too much to ask for. The food on offer is as good as one gets in a 5-star game lodge in Southern Africa. As a bird photographer, the tented camp, guided tender boats and access to the river foliage is better than shooting off the river boat from a photographic boat looking for subjects in the river reed banks. The tender boats are more manoeuvrable than the larger photographic boats. And our guide, Anthony, did a great & patient job putting me in the best place to take photos. The only slightly negative comment, is the state of the tents. They are tired & need to be freshened up. Staff should also open & lighten them up for returning guests. However, my wife & I still loved the entire experience."

"We arrived at the hotel yesterday and are still here. When we entered our room, we noted that there were no hand towels, washcloths, or shampoo in the bathroom. I called reception and asked for the needed towels as I could borrow my wife’s shampoo. After 5.5 hours and a promise to bring the towels to our room, I went to the reception desk to request the towels again but still no towels. This morning, after housekeeping came to our room, we again requested hand towels and washcloths. When we returned to our room, there were none. In asking other members of our tour group, we found that many had the same experience. This certainly detracts from the overall experience since even the worst hotels are able to give every guest the needed towels. This is a shame since the property is beautiful, their buffets are well-stocked, and the food is delicious. However, when a hotel cannot provide the very basics, it really detracts from the overall experience and makes you question the lack of service. Apparently, housekeeping may not be given the necessary resources by management to satisfy the guests. If I were in this area again, I would take a closer look at other hotels. Washing one’s face and hands is not a luxury experience - it’s a necessary part of a healthful life. Perhaps, this is the reason for 3 stars instead of 4."

"We arrived at CRL after a long drive and camping experience in Moremi & Savuti. They welcomed us with a refreshing ice-tea and they had no problem for us checking in before 14h00. Our Boat Cruise on the Chobe was excellent & our Guide was superb! We came back before sunset, had a dip in their pool followed by a scrumptious dinner. I came down with heatstroke so my hubby was TOO happy to finish my dinner for me. :) Their beds, might be the best I have slept in. After arriving home & bought myself a new bed too. The ladies at the lodge were very attentive and were helpful when needed. I will definitely recommend CRL to any traveller. Did I also mention their rooms were HUGE! Biggest we've seen on our recent Botswana, Zim & Namibia trip."
