Kunming Wuhua District Hotels

The location, service, common areas, and atmosphere were all excellent. Every morning, I couldn't resist getting coffee downstairs at the restaurant, and from evening until midnight, I found myself going through bottle after bottle of beer. Next time I'm in Kunming, I'm definitely staying here again.

This is my second time choosing the Grand Park Hotel by Cuihu Lake, having stayed in Kunming a few times. The location is truly a 'hidden gem' – No. 20 Honghua Bridge, within a ten-minute walk to the Yunnan Military Academy, Yunnan University, and Wenlin Street. You can even see the shimmering waters of Cuihu Lake from your window. It's a well-established five-star hotel; while it's older, it's well-maintained. The solid wood furniture and ethnic patterned carpets give it a distinct Yunnanese vibe, rather than a trendy, 'influencer-style' aesthetic. The extra-long windows in the room are a highlight. This hotel is perfect for city walks around the Cuihu Lake area, for those traveling with seniors, or guests who prefer not to change locations frequently. However, if you're looking for brand-new facilities or an 'Instagrammable' pool, you might want to consider other options.

Traveling with my parents, we received a free room upgrade. The room was clean and complimentary fruit was provided. The front desk staff, especially one young lady, was very patient and helpful. The hotel is very close to Cuihu Park and within walking distance of Kunming Old Street, which is incredibly convenient.

I chose the Orange Crystal Hotel on Nanping Old Street for my trip to Kunming, and it was absolutely the right decision! The room was spotless, and the mattress was just the right firmness, making for a super relaxing sleep. The front desk staff were quick to check me in and had excellent service attitudes, responding promptly to any requests. It's right on the pedestrian street, so dining and shopping are incredibly convenient. The soundproofing is also excellent, offering a quiet retreat in a bustling area. This hotel offers amazing value for money, and I'll definitely rebook it on my next visit to Kunming.

Choosing Atour for my Kunming trip was definitely the right call! The location is absolutely perfect. It's right in the city center, and just 50 meters downstairs is the 900-year-old Kunming Old Street. Nanping Street, Nanqiang Night Market, and Shuncheng Shopping Mall are all within walking distance. You can easily grab all sorts of local Yunnan snacks and flower souvenirs, and the whole area just buzzes with life. It's only 200 meters from Wuyi Road subway station, and a few minutes by taxi to places like Cuihu Lake and the Military Academy, making travel to and from the train station and airport super convenient. Tourists really don't have to worry about getting around at all. What surprised me most was how peaceful it was despite being in a bustling area. Downstairs, the commercial district is lively, but once you close your room door, the soundproofing is excellent, and you won't be disturbed at all when sleeping at night. The room hygiene was impeccable. There's a fresh air system throughout the room, a wet/dry separated bathroom, and standard 'naked cotton' bedding and Deep Sleep Pro pillows – after a long day of traveling, lying down was incredibly relaxing. The 65-inch screen-mirroring TV, mini-fridge, and smart toilet were all fully equipped. The natural light was great, and the space felt spacious and not at all cramped. The breakfast buffet was truly impressive. They had all sorts of Yunnan specialties like freshly made rice noodles, tofu pudding, soy milk, and Ersi (rice noodles), with a rich variety of dishes. Plus, they even let you pack food to go if you're in a hurry. The hotel also offers complimentary self-service laundry facilities with an iron, a small gym, and free parking for those driving. The front desk service was gentle and thoughtful. Check-in was fast, and they proactively offered flower cakes and hot tea. They were also very patient and accommodating with requests like luggage delivery and late check-out. The attention to detail made me feel really at home. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kunming!

Stayed here for a week. The location of the hotel is convenient and perfect for those who want to spend a few days enjoying the bars, cafes, and shopping areas of Old Town. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean, and tidy with all the amenities one can expect. Perfect for both solo travellers and groups or families. I would definitely recommend the place, and when I visit Kunming again this will be my go to hotel to stay at once more

The room was incredibly spacious, bright, and very quiet, with all the amenities you could ask for. The thoughtful floral touches throughout the room really showed the owner's dedication, creating a truly homely atmosphere. The bathroom was also large, with a separate wet and dry area, and that huge makeup mirror was a definite plus! There's even a washing machine and a smart toilet that was pleasantly warm – definitely a nice touch. For just over 100, finding a guesthouse like this felt like a steal! The only minor thing was having to pay extra for disposable bath and face towels, but I brought my own anyway. Plus, they offer free luggage storage for the next day, which was super convenient. There are plenty of places to eat and things to do nearby, making it a very convenient location. I highly recommend trying the braised chicken rice noodles downstairs – absolutely delicious!

I didn't get the room I originally booked because I arrived a bit early. The staff member was very thoughtful and asked if I'd be okay with a different room, and even prepared some coffee for me while I waited. The room was well-arranged. Since I had a slight altitude sickness in Yunnan and wanted to rest before heading out, I specifically chose this room with a bathtub 🛁, which was quite nice. The only minor issue was that the screen mirroring was a bit laggy in the middle of the night. Overall, I slept very comfortably.

This is a homestay, not entirely a hotel as per se. However, that being said, the homestay met our expectations - our room matches what is being shown in the photos - room was spacious and clean - you have to communicate with reception if you wish to arrange for room cleaning. - location is rather decent as it is close to KunMing railway and short distance from KunMing old street - hotel reception communicates via WeChat and is very responsive. Cons: - communication might be a challenge if you don’t have WeChat and don’t communicate well in mandarin (as with many other part of china). There is no physical reception available. - finding the exact location of the homestay can be challenging and intimidating as you have to follow the steps provided by homestay provider. If you are able to overcome the challenges, you would be able to enjoy this value for money, comfortable homestay for your time at Kun Ming.

This stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants, and it's super convenient for shopping and sightseeing. The room was clean and odor-free, the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the mattress was just right – not too soft, not too firm. The staff were attentive and patient, and the environment was quiet, not noisy at all. It's a perfect place to stay for travel, and I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in the area.
