In a quieter part of the island, however, there is little reason to leave the hotel too much because of the vast facilities. "The Japanese hub was delicious, the cave wasn't, the view was nice, not many people, but I vomited badly on the last day, the buffet restaurant was full of flies, I suspect this is the reason, the restaurant's hygiene needs to be improved. (80% of the buffets that were opened had flies flying around, lots of them)"

"I would rate the resort 3.5 stars. The location, with a jetty bar on stilts is fabulous; albeit quite remote from the nearest village with facilities. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful when needed. The spring fed main pool is one of the best I've been in, warm and not chlorinated (tested for bacteria daily). The food was good, without being exceptional and the all inclusive drinks were a little restricted. There was a problem with flies in the pool bar and the main dining room, which could be remedied with a few Insectocutors. The facilities were pretty good, with pool tables and table tennis available, also a kids club. Excursions were pricey if arranged at the hotel, so we arranged ours with local guides easily and much cheaper. The on site shops had some reasonable quality items, again on the pricey side. Our main gripe was with the spa, we booked a 4 massage deal, but my wife was bruised on an aroma therapy massage and felt there was no knowledge of what a lymphatic flush massage should entail; we told the man who arranged it but didn't get a great response. I had one massage, but we didn't take the last one due to lack of confidence in what we would get. It appears to be a training and communication issue. Wifi on site is very erratic and slow, although the Jetty Bar appears to be a bit better signal. We had a nice time and will be leaving well rested. Would I recommend? Not sure."

"Beautiful place, nice people, welcoming staff. Our special thanks go to Kelvin, a very talanted and extremely helpful young man. The restaurant requires attention though. Most of the items on the menu are constantly out of stock. The orders are being mixed/messed up all the time. But if you are not too picky about food the place would be the perfect fit."

"We spent 9 nights in DhowInn and we really enjoyed our stay in hotel and generell in Zanzibar!The room 404 was clean 10 steps from a great pool , long enough for length swimming what a really appreciated. The breakfast and dinner was a really good combination of different delicious local freshly prepared foods., for lunch we ordered many times the fresh prepared sushi’s (it took time till we got the food but it was worth it). We also enjoyed 3 times 35min massages in the hotel Spa - really nice ! The amazing turquoise white powder beach is couple steps away from hotel with many opportunities for activities . We booked directly in hotel a couple of really interesting and well organized trips . Our guide was Rhamadan and we highly appreciate his guiding qualities and a very friendly and uncomplicated way to show us the true beauty of the island ! We had a wonderful experience with his guiding . In generell we had a very good experience with hotels stuff ! I can highly recommend the stay in DhowInn."

"This hotel was exceptional!! We truly enjoyed our stay as a family of 5, the hotel grounds were breath-taking. To be honest, we couldn’t make much use of the private pool as water was cold. The staff were super friendly. Breakfast options were good, dinner options not as great. Beware of the monkeys as they can sneak in if doors are left unlocked. Would definitely stay there again!"

"We have just returned from a memorable family vacation at Bella Vista. We loved the rural setting of Bella Vista in a fisherman's village overlooking a sheltered bay accommodating many fishing boats providing the most beautiful sunsets and early morning activity - indeed picture perfect. If you love something slightly off the beaten track and away from tourist shops and crowded beaches, this might just be the one. Friendly service, excellent advice from management who will go out of their way to arrange activities including; visits to Stonetown, spice farms and many other places of interest, snorkeling off the coast or from a local boat, short or full day boat trips including the most delicious seafood prepared onboard by the crew - the list goes on. "We were picked by the Dhow Inn driver at the airport to the hotel. I do accord warm reservation, we received from the receptionist. The hotel is well lighted both inside rooms and outside.
