Cleanliness: The room had bugs; I killed 3 on the first night.
Service: The service was very thoughtful. They helped carry luggage into the room and even set up the tatami. At check-out, they proactively helped take luggage to the front desk.
Facilities: It's a very old wooden house. You can't make loud noises at night, as it genuinely disturbs others.
Environment: It's very close to Arima Onsen Station, about a 5-minute walk, right in the center of the hot spring town. Overall, it's very convenient.

The service of the staff is superb and way beyond expectation.
I noticed that the yugata for my wife is men’s size and my slipper is women’s size. I hope they can be more prepared on the suitable sizes to be available for guest.
The only thing I don't really like is the toilet room inside the Japanese style room. The wall paper has lots of stain spot, smelly and it is not quite comfortable to stay even for a short while to do your thing when you have a need.

As a loyal fan of Hana Koyado, I brought my mom here again! This time, we got a Western-style room with beds suitable for seniors. We first went to the large public bath outside, then enjoyed the private onsen again in the evening. Dinner, as always, was a full-on ceremonial experience. My absolute favorite has to be the charcoal-grilled sashimi – my mom was so impressed by the rich ceremony!
Since I frequently visit hot springs, I can confidently say that Arima Onsen's mineral content is truly exceptional. After soaking, you feel warm for a long time, which is incredibly beneficial for women!

Great place, I was very pleased! I'd love to come back again.
Location: The bus to Arima stops at the bridge, from there it's a 10-15 minute uphill climb, three flights of stairs. It's inconvenient if you have large suitcases; it's best to leave them somewhere. The hotel has a very atmospheric atmosphere, and the view from the veranda is stunning.
Amenities: They give one pass to the onsen (golden onsen), it's 5 minutes away, and it's fantastic (don't forget to bring masks and lotions; I didn't see any in the onsen itself). I went there in my hotel yukata, although I haven't seen anyone like it anywhere else 😁
The hotel itself is clean, has all the necessary amenities, and the futon is super soft – I slept wonderfully.
The building and furniture are not new, but for a ryokan of this type, that's understandable.
Service: The hostess speaks Japanese and Chinese; her English isn't great, but it's perfectly adequate for basic needs.
I didn't bring any food, I stayed for one night in a room (8) on the ground floor - it was spacious, with a view from the window of a fence with ivy, but this didn't spoil the atmosphere, as the room was quite sunny.

Love this onsen hotel very much. My one night stay includes breakfast and dinner. All dishes are tasteful and made with heart, room is spacious. We love the 美景日式房帶露天風呂, and one cave onsen free of charge with high privacy. Nice stay and we will be back agin.
【The hotel offers picking up at Arima station from 14:00 to 20:00. Please contact the hotel when arriving Arima station. Please note that the open-air bath and the bath in the guest room are not hot springs.】

Like the quaint yet very elaborate ryokan style of living. The onsen may not be as big and fancy as in noboribetsu but it is still comfortable. I subscribed to their dinner and breakfast which was pretty good. I definitely live the wooden bathtub in my room. They have shuttle services to and from Arima Onsen region. The only complain I have is the weak wifi.
Enjoy the golden colored hot spring water in hideaway accommodation in Arima that is a distance away from the hot spring town!!

It is a wonderful hotel, a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature, onsens and exclusively excellent Kaisai dinner.
You can book two private onsens per 1 day (e.g. one in the evening and 1 in the morning) and also 1 private stay in sauna. You can spend time together with your couple.
Public onsens are almost free all the time, so you can enjoy them either.
We really loved our stay, the hospitality of all staff and free transfer provided. I have looked through many hotels, but this was the best with quality price ratio.

Very satisfied with this quiet and clean hotel. I'll definitely book again next time. I also understand the hotel's restriction on children under 12; it's so quiet I didn't want to leave. Ambiance: Quiet. Service: Attentive. Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean, with a great design.

There are few Korean reviews on Trip.com. The staff really don't speak English ... Feeling like a lot of locals. It's difficult if you don't speak Japanese well. If you explain breakfast in English, disice rice. Disice soup. Enjoy.. If you speak Japanese, you can check the eggs on the breakfast rice.
On the first day of check-in, the massage chair left the customer the day before. Cleaning can be selected from 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock, so it takes about 2 hours.
A bottle of water per night (Fuji products), a can of small beer / snack time on the first floor from 7:30 to 9:00. Drinks can be drunk at any time.
There is only a golden bath in the hot spring, but the water quality and management are good. However, when I stayed, there was a tattoo, so I asked the staff, and the tattoo was illegal, so it was diameter.. The guest seemed to be a scary person.
The private bath in the hostel is not hot spring water, but the water quality is good.
Meals.. If the language doesn't work, the explanation is very poor, but it's very rich.. But the diet is suitable for the locals. I left it because it was so rich.
All meals are different during my two days stay.
General comment: if you can speak Japanese and are familiar with local style, you can enjoy it.

This stay was in a Japanese-style room. The layout was conventional, not very spacious, and a bit dated, but the cleanliness was good. The hotel's two elevators are quite small, leading to long waits during peak hours, which is inefficient. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and noteworthy.
The bathhouse is divided into public and guest-only sections: the public bath on the 2nd-3rd floors doesn't provide towels but has lockers; the guest-only bath on the GF floor offers hand towels but no lockers, so it's advisable not to bring valuables. Overall, the experience was decent.
The hotel's hillside location makes walking a bit inconvenient, but they offer a shuttle service to the station! You can call the front desk to book it!

Amazing
JJemmyYaoThe hotel's shower facilities were excellent. Its location is right next to Nanjing Street, an 8-minute walk from Kobe's waterfront, and a 5-minute walk from Sannomiya Station, which offers access to various transportation options. However, the breakfast was quite mediocre, both in terms of variety and quality.
Sshally731Due to a late flight, I didn't arrive at the hotel until after midnight. The room wasn't huge, but the bed was big, and the bathroom had a great dry/wet separation. For Japan, this place is excellent! The hotel's location is also fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from Sannomiya Station, and Don Quijote is right across the street. The breakfast was a buffet; while not a massive selection, everything was exquisite. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
EEdmund KeeHad my first night stay here at Sannomiya Kobe, took an airport limo bus to Sannomiya station and it was just a 10min stroll to the hotel, my previous japan experience was from AirBNB, but this hotel stay at Sotetsu Sannomiya changed my perception!
Although I stayed for only 1 night in there, I managed to explore nearby places and even tried Kobe Beef for the first time ever!
Hotel is super clean, you can refill the toiletries as and when needed, they are just right at level 1. Check in was seemless, check out as well! There is also a laundry service, microwave and vending machine at level 2. Bedding and cleaniness is top notch!
Will highly recommend this hotel to many other travellers!
GGuest UserOverall, our stay was good, especially the location. The room is a bit old but still well maintained.
However, we were not happy with one aspect of the service. A staff member (possibly a manager or senior from the F&B team) was not very professional and came across as quite rude.
He physically blocked us from entering the breakfast area without listening to our explanation. We clearly mentioned that our friend was already inside and had a table, and we were just trying to confirm the table number. However, he insisted we go to Level 1 for breakfast and did not allow us to explain further.
We had to go back and forth between the lift, trying to contact our friend, which was quite frustrating. Only after we showed him a photo did he finally allow us to enter.
What surprised us most was that the restaurant was actually quite empty, with many available tables. We don’t understand why we were told it was full and asked to go elsewhere.
We hope the hotel can improve staff communication and professionalism to avoid similar situations in the future.
AAnonymous UserNot sure what has happened to Japan standard in the past couple of years but had called the hotel to confirm that linens are scent free (standard in Japan before) and was told yes. Unfortunately they are not, this new laundry detergent that is slowly spreading throughout Japan is absolutely horrible causing all sorts of allergic reactions (not only to me.) I start having rashes, compromised breathing, and inflammation issues. If it’s the same detergent used back in America, then it might be eco-friendly, but definitely not human friendly. I truly hope that Japan goes back to the way it was before the introduction of some western products filled with harmful chemicals to humans. It is not because you don’t react to it that it is not harming your body, it’s only a question of time and when it does, you won’t know why and there is no turning back. Take it from an Asian American born who was the biggest fan of American marketed products. We do have good products like ECOLAB, which is both, sustainable for the environment without compromising human health. Maybe laundry company should look into that company or simply return to Japanese products before. Good thing thing their pyjama are still scent free so I had to wrap the bed and cover with their pyjama to get through the night.
BBaici wawaThe room was clean, and the water pressure on the higher floors was consistently strong. They have laundry machines, a microwave, and a vending machine on the first floor, along with water dispensers on every floor. On the first floor, you can also find coffee, tea bags, toiletries, and bathrobes. This is my go-to place whenever I visit Kobe; it offers excellent value for money.
XXinqingtianThis hotel offers incredible value for money! The environment is lovely, and it's spotlessly clean. The staff are all so welcoming and enthusiastic. You can easily walk to both the beach and the shopping area. Plus, the rooms are really spacious. Definitely a highly recommended place!
GGuest UserStayed on a refurbished executive floor, but the 'refurbishment' was really just a change in decor; the crucial hardware facilities, like the bathroom, were still old. The breakfast was absolutely delightful – a great variety and quite refined. I especially loved the sea bream chazuke and the hand rolls. The curry rice was also good, and they even had ice cream at breakfast, which made the kids incredibly happy!
GGuest UserHotel service was good. Dinner and breakfast was provided as part of the stay. Food was good for the stay since there are not much options for food at Arima. Most shops are closed by afternoon. Though the hotel is old but it’s renovated (except for the old wooden cupboard) which made the stay more pleasant. Onsen is indoor and small so will need to go at hours with lesser people.
Sshugi62This was my first time staying at a hotel near Sannomiya Station in Kobe. The hotel was well-equipped and offered great value for money. The only downside was the construction outside the entrance, which made getting around inconvenient and required a bit of a detour. However, shopping and dining options were very convenient nearby, and there was a convenience store downstairs.
