Chong Ee JayWonderful stay at Premier Hotel Mojiko for two nights. Just a 3 minutes walk from Mojiko train station.
Coming out from the hotel, you will see the exceptionally spectacular view of the Kanmon Bridge. Also, the ferry service is nearby where you can take a 5 minutes ride opposite to the Karata Fish Market for fresh sushi!
Hotel room is good is size for twin sharing and clean. The service staff are very hospitable too.
Hotel breakfast is great too! Lots of Japanese breakfast food choices.
Nearby the hotel are souvenir shops and coffee places where you can catch a drink or get some nice gifts for family.
Kanmon Straits Museum and Kyushu Rail Museum are all within 10min walking distance from the hotel too!
If you are up for a walk to the Kanmon Bridge area to take the pedestrian tunnel, it’s about a 20-30min walk away by pathway. Good exercise!

JaniceTotoroI loved this hotel when I first saw it, it’s exactly like it’s advertised, there is a whole shelves of comics in the lobby and you can bring them to your room and read ! The breakfast is also very thoughtful and delicious! I booked this place because I want to visit Mojiko and Shimonoseki, not to mention personally I think Kokura has better shopping experience than Hakata, with lesser tourists and you can get the items that are always out of stock in other big city! One negative side during Friday night there are a lot of drunk people walking like zombie around the station 😸 and I got slightly lost to get back to the hotel at night, the front desk staff is helpful and friendly.

헤수스Perfect if you have an early flight in the morning. The hotel is just 5-8 min walking from the airport. The staff was very polite and really helfull, they speak japanese, english and korean. For breakfast you get different options of rice; bread, fish, etc. If you don't want to eat in the dinning area, you can bring the food to your room. Also, you can always walk to the airport and get food and drinks at the convenience store. Keep in mind there is nothing besides the airport and the hotel, so don't expect much. This is perfect to rest before or after a flight.

potatobreezeStayed at Hotel Livemax Kokura Ekimae and loved how convenient it was — right next to the train station yet surprisingly quiet. The room has all the basic amenities you need, plus a microwave and kettle in the room which was super handy. Room size is just right for travelers with a small cabin luggage, clean and functional. Perfect for a short stay in Kokura!

This hotel locates near by the Kokura train station makes it one of the most convenient hotel I have ever lived.
Unfortunately I could only reserve a smoking room, but the smell was not too strong to clear out by some splash. I would suggest the manager to inform smoking customers not to smoke in the bathroom, in order to avoid the smoke on the shower curtain.
And the services are pretty good provided by kind stuff with multiple language skills. There is even a snack and drink corner 24 hours on first floor.
The only deficit of this hotel might be the sound proof of the top floor, 6th floor I lived. The sound could not penetrate through rooms, but there were multiple huge machines on the top of the room running through day and night and generated big noises. During the last night I lived, one of the noises was similar with the sound of unlocking the door, so I couldn' t sleep well because I felt like somebody was unlocking the door.

Guest UserLocation is walkable from the JR station, surrounding malls and tourist spots, while not being in the centre of it all, making it a quiet and comfortable stay. There are many buses nearby so taking the bus instead of train was a good option to have. Walking distance can also be reduced sometimes via taking the bus. At the same time, the airport bus is at the JR station, so it was very convenient. The hotel while a little dated, is well maintained with floors segregated by non-smoking and smoking. Luggage deposit before and after is also available and the staff are very helpful with that. The bedside console comes with an alarm clock and even a music player where ambience music can be played - it is a very nice touch to have!!

Guest UserFukuoka was too expensive for a weekend trip, so we booked in Kokura instead. It's a self-service apartment. Pre-registering online definitely saved a lot of time during check-in. The room wasn't particularly clean. Maybe it's not having white walls, but the interior colors felt a bit depressing. There were water stains on the coffee table. It was fine for a layover stay, I guess. Overall, the price was the main selling point.

eme11It feels like an apartment, and is nice and clean.
There is no front desk, but you can check in using the tablet at the entrance and check out using the tablet in your room.
If you need to confirm anything, you can call or email using the tablet in your room.
If you need something urgent, like extra towels, it may be difficult to deal with as there is no staff at the front desk.
It's within walking distance of Moji Station, which was helpful!

Guest UserThough location is a little far but the free shuttle bus to and fro Orio station made is super convenient for an onsen retreat. There's a direct bus from Kitakyushu Airport to Orio station too, which makes it even better. Thankfully, the staff kindly took note of the shuttle reservation request made during booking, otherwise, it would have been very inconvenient to contact them and expensive to get to the resort by other means. They left a note to check the official website for pick-up point but there was no specific information - something that can be improved. The location was found to be BEHIND Maxvalue Shop (see first few photos). The resort is visited by mainly locals so it was helpful to see and ask them for confirmation.
Facilities might a bit old but generally clean so it was okay. The room is nice and comfortable, particularly the view. It was very nice to see the hotel using reusable wares with even a refillable jug to get water from a machine at the shared space. Both sides of the natural onsen is switched between male and female everyday. Supper tantan noodles is great! Breakfast is not bad with both fusion western style and traditional Japanese options. It was a very nice and relaxing time!

The room is very spacious and within walking distance to delicious grilled curry. However, I could not enter the hotel without receiving an email when checking in. It is recommended that travelers who plan to check in must confirm the password again and again. The password of the trip.com reminder check-in email is incorrect
