"What should have been a special evening turned into an absolute farce from start to finish. This hotel advertises two very different restaurants: an upscale dining room and a casual pub. We specifically booked the upscale restaurant through their own website, received confirmation, and dressed accordingly. Unfortunately, none of that mattered to the staff or management. Upon arrival, we were immediately brushed off by a waitress who after quickly scanning their reservation form, assumed we were reserved for the pub and then ushered us in that direction like confused walk-ins. Only after stopping another waiter and showing our reservation confirmation were we escorted back—clearly proving we had booked the upscale restaurant all along. That’s when things went from bad to unacceptable. The receptionist located our reservation but casually explained that their system often books people into the “wrong restaurant.” Despite acknowledging that our upscale reservation existed and was their error, we were told the upscale restaurant could not accommodate us and that we would have to eat at the pub instead. Naturally, we asked to cancel—since we were not being offered what we reserved—and requested assurance that we would not be charged the €200 no-show fee. The manager’s response was astonishingly hostile: eat at the pub or be charged €200. No apology. No accountability. Just a thinly veiled threat to pay for their mistake. Left with no real choice, we ate at the pub we never wanted to visit. The final insult? Nearly an hour wait for food that was mediocre at best—hardly compensation for being strong-armed into downgrading our entire evening. This establishment has mastered the art of overpromising, underdelivering, and punishing guests for its own incompetence. If you value your time, money, or dignity, do not trust their reservation system—and certainly don’t expect management to act in good faith when things go wrong. One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had, not because of the food alone, but because of the utterly unacceptable treatment of paying guests."

"We felt very comfortable in this family-run hotel. Everything was perfect. The food was excellent and perfectly prepared. The breakfast buffet was more extensive than in most other hotels. The afternoon cake was always freshly prepared and delicious. The service staff was very friendly and always attentive to our needs, especially the hotel owner and his wife. The ski lifts and the town center of Lech are just a few minutes' walk away. If you don't want to carry your ski equipment every day (depending on the snow conditions), you can rent a ski and boot storage room at one of the lifts. The hotel is located on the edge of town and is in a very quiet location. In short, we would love to come back!"

For those who are there to ski there is a public shuttle bus in front of the hotel , if you want to reach the center you have to walk for 15 min . Thanks for the beautiful days I had with you all . "We stayed at this hotel for an unforgettable ski week. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by a super friendly staff that made us feel at home and this was usual every time we met them in the lobby. Rooms are very spacious with great views of the mountains. There is a T-bar lift just 20 mts from the hotel which is a plus. The hotel is located aprox 700 mts from Lech main street but walking has never been a pain (although you have to consider taking a taxi if you arrive at Lech in public transport). Breaksfast is really outstanding with many options both sweet and salad. There is a relax area for apres ski with both a sauna and steam bath but no jacuzzi. My only suggestion would be to offer a kettle with tea/coffee options in the room, but for the rest I would definetivley chose Hinterwies again."

"The hotel is very well situated in the centre of Lech, which itself is one of the jewels of the Arlberg skiing region. The staff are all thoroughly professional and respond to any request with a smile and friendliness. Our room, which was easy to reach with a lift or staircase, was excellent with good modern facilities and lots of space. As we were four people, we were able to be together with our 16 yo children, yet they were independent of us as there wasplenty of room. The beds were comfortable and the bed linen was changed every day. On a slightly negative note, there were few 'amenities' such as shampoo, etc. however they suddenly appeared after a few days, similarly we had read that there are no coffee or tea making facilities in the rooms, so we brought our own electric kettle. It would have been nice to have a pre-breakfast cup of tea in the morning or chocolate drink at night. Breakfasts at the Sandhof were superb with every juice, cooked eggs or cereal offered and quickly refilled when necessary. The chef was excellent. We ate dinner in various restaurants in Lech and one evening in the Sandhof for a fondue, cheese and meat. It was excellent too, as we expected. Coffee is well prepared, fresh and tasty. The apres ski in the other hotels are within a very short stroll away. The Sandhof in Lech, quality, professionalism and comfort are all byewords for this fine hotel."

"This is a really comfortable, spacious and well-appointed apartment with easy access to a ski lift and the town. We were very well looked after with such helpful and hospitable owners. You can order fresh bread to be delivered every morning which was a lovely touch. We will definitely be back next year!"
