"The hotel has been updated and is also getting new windows and siding. Staff was great. The breakfast was very good and the room is bright and large. Fully remodeled. If you are not a camper and want to visit Grand Marais for a beach day, this hotel would be perfect. McDonalds across the street and Pizza Hut next door for a touch of a bigger town. My choice was last minute and very happy we stayed here on our last night in the U P."

"We stayed in a two queen room and it was spacious and the bed was comfy. The updates give the hotel a nice fresh and welcoming look. Both women who checked us in and out (wish I could remember their names!) were wonderful. The woman who checked us out even recommended we stay at their sister hotel in St. Ignace the next time we’re in Mackinaw. The breakfast was great with a ton of options. I love the fact that fresh cookies and popcorn are made everyday for the guests. Their little gift shop is super unique too. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!"
