"The courtyard design in the hotel is well integrated with the building itself. The hotel is quiet and comfortable without too much artificial addition. It is very suitable for relaxing and leisurely time."

"This hotel has 5 stars on Trip.com indicating it is a 5-star hotel but it is at best a 3-star hotel as it has no swimming pool or other recreational facilities. Its deco is outdated. It doesn't even have a proper lobby for cars to drop off passengers. The facilities and rooms are very dated. It doesn't even provide hand soap! The room is quite clean but there is lack of electrical sockets. The positive thing about this hotel is the location is quite central and rooms are quite spacious."

"We had an excellent stay! The family room (triple) was spacious and comfortable, perfect for traveling with kids. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout our stay, and the breakfast spread was generous with a great variety of options. The body lotion smells so good , we bought one back (cost 1000 TWD) for own use, available at front desk . Overall, a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for families!"

"We booked 2 rooms this time, all on 8th floor. But the view of twin room is much better than the double room. A huge difference. You can take a look of the photos. We just tried their lobby cafe this time, service and food taste were ok, but the toast that we’ve ordered arrived cold, due to the malfunction of their oven, what a surprise!"

"The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The service was incredibly warm and attentive, and the breakfast was very rich and delicious. It's conveniently located in the heart of Taichung with easy transportation. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance."

"Great for family trip. The service of room was satisfying and quite fast. As soon as we enter our room in third floor, we noticed the size of slippers provided was too large. To our surprise, they took care of the problem almost immediately. I will give the service five star. As for the swimming pool, the quality of water is also good enough for children in 6-12 age group. BTW, thanks for the swimming pool service people. They gave us medication for mosquito biting in emergency. Surely recommended for family trip destination."

"The room cleanliness is good, but the front desk staff are somewhat cold and lack friendliness. However, if needed, they are willing to help.  The most inconvenient thing is that the hotel does not provide bottled water. You have to use the hotel's provided kettle to get filtered water outside the room, which is extremely inconvenient and feels unhygienic. This should not be the service provided by a five-star hotel. "The hotel room was great, and the hotel staff at the concierge was great, given the price per night. However extra breakfast at TWD1087 pp was not value for money - little choices of food (e.g. the salad bar). Apparently there was short of staff (e.g. the omlette station was unattended). I would love to stay in the hotel in future trips to Taichung, but would not have breakfast there again."

"First thing , need to thank the counter staff Ona for her good recommendation. My friend who had an accidental fall in the bathroom of the hotel needed medical attention. We wanted to go to the nearest hospital, which there was one near the hotel, but Ona on understanding my friend’s condition, suggested to go to the orthopaedic clinic which is just a stone throw aqua from the hotel. We could just walk there to have her condition examined very quickly ! Had we gone to the hospital A&E not sure how long we would have to wait ! So special thanks to Ona for being proactive and enquire more about the needs of the customers and giving the good advice ! My friend stepped on the door frame of the bath room shower and it was slippery after her room mate had a bath. Would suggest the hotel to paste an anti slip on the shower room door frame Around the hotel is a great massage place call 湯 村。this place is slightly more expensive but hotel guest has 10 percent discount . The other foot massage parlours around are not as good as this one which has a private room for customers and the staff there professional . Would be great if the hotel could work with this place to get an even greater discount for hotel guests. For breakfast those that love traditional Chinese breakfast of porridge with condiments would love it ! Those the prefers western would be disappointed ! Hotel is very strict about late check out. For guests staying for more than one night , I think the hotel should be more generous especially if the checkout is on Sunday as I expect there would not be so many guests Sunday to Monday Overall the stay was comfortable, even for their standard room they have shower with bath tub, a small table with sofa .. this is very considerate , as in Taiwan , it a always great to buy late night supper from the night market and eat in at the hotel room ! There are convenience stall around the hotel and even a place selling ********* style barbecue"

"This hotel is outstanding in almost every way. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful.  The room is clean, the breakfast is excellent, location is central in the city, and the price is more than reasonable.   I want to particularly mention Miss Herin Lin (林珮慈).  She went extra miles to help my wife seeking medical assistance by accompanying us going to hospital, arranging all the paper work and everything.  We travel extensively all over the world. We think by any standard Miss Lin is a model worker in hospitality industry.  We have no doubt that Evergreen Laurel Hotel will be our first choice when we visit Taichung again!  "
