Katiliya Mountain Resort and Spa
"Good service. Room is quite big and clean."
Baan Maihorm Guesthouse
"The hostel is located in an alley, where chickens and dogs can hear each other, and the sound insulation is acceptable. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the nearest supermarket. The environment is clean and quiet, but the equipment is a bit old and crude, but the flaws are not hidden. The house is made of wooden structure but there is no musty smell. , great value for money, because my mother-in-law’s family is in Chiang Rai, I will stay here again next time I come back"
Katiliya Park Villa
"The sign for the accommodation was not clear. We had to show signs. We arrived at night and got lost."
Phu Chaisai Mountain Chiang Rai Resort
"I had been assured before I went that they would take me out to authentic Hilltribe villages and that is the reason that I went. Upon arrival, after a lengthy conversation I worked out that this was not something that they could do. I considered staying for one night as I was already there but the quality of the room was not great, it was old and tired. I decided to leave and go back to Chiang Rai. Two taxi rides totally 1800 Thai bat for nothing. I wasn’t even offered a glass of water. Very disappointing all round, be careful what you are promised. I would not recommend."
Tantawan Tented Camp, Chiang Rai
"If there is one reason above all others to choose Tantawan, it is the people who work here. The team carries a warmth and sincerity that cannot be coached into existence — attentive without being intrusive, helpful before you even realise you need it. Every interaction leaves a good impression behind, and that consistency across the entire stay is genuinely rare. The tents themselves strike a fine balance between modern comfort and immersion in nature. Thoughtful touches abound — earplugs are provided as standard, a quiet acknowledgment that the wilderness is rarely entirely silent at night. Small detail, but it speaks to the care that runs through the whole operation. Breakfast deserves a special mention. Generous, well-executed, and unhurried — it sets exactly the right tone for the day. Activities are available, including archery and a Movies Under the Stars session, which is a lovely touch. That said, guests expecting a packed programme may find the options on the lighter side. There is room to grow here. The location is genuinely remote, which is the point — but Dusit provides airport transfers, so the logistics are well handled. Arrive knowing the isolation is the experience, not an inconvenience to be worked around. For travellers who value stillness, nature, and hospitality that feels human rather than performed, Tantawan quietly over-delivers."

Baan Fah Chiang Rai
"It's very clean. The house is beautiful."
OXY Resort Chiang Rai
"The location is very good, surrounded by green space. There is a view of the Chuifong tea plantation, just a short drive away. The accommodation is not very large, you can walk around and exercise and breathe in the fresh air. The room is very cute, a half-story with an attic. It's very cute and you can take beautiful photos. Let the pictures speak for themselves."
