I thought I'd snagged a bargain on the room type and price, but after checking in, I realized it was a guesthouse disguised as a hotel. Even if there weren't any large vehicles, security guards wouldn't allow parking in the large vehicle parking lot closest to the hotel; the distance was over 200 meters. Second, there were no luggage carts, and the path at night wasn't even lit, causing a child to slip and fall. Meanwhile, there were two night-vision surveillance cameras on that path. The hotel had no front desk or staff; only one young man handled a bunch of keys, distributing them based on the booking information. The so-called river-view rooms offered no river view whatsoever (although there really was only a path and a clump of bamboo near the shore). Named ”Halfway Up the Mountain,” it truly felt like staying in a basement. The only redeeming qualities were the bedding and room facilities; everything else fell short of hotel standards.
