Ah House Nelson City B&B ★★★★

📍 23 Examiner Street, Nelson

"Having just completed a 6 week tour of both New Zealand’s islands, we can honestly say Ah House was our most enjoyable on the South Island. Our garden room was a totally unique, quirky and cozy experience. Hosts Mark and John excelled themselves in making us feel ‘at home’, giving tips about Nelson and the surrounding area. Bravo to Mark for ‘going that extra mile’ and managing to prepare a cooked breakfast during a power cut!"

The Hotel Nelson ★★★★
"The cleanliness was okay, and the location and ambiance were passable. What I really need to mention is that the service was absolutely appalling. Checking in at 10 PM, no one answered the phone, only texted. What kind of hotel is this? Don't they have security guards? You know, I've been to New Plymouth, Christchurch, and Queenstown and never encountered any difficulty checking in at night. Nelson is unbelievable; how can he run a hotel with such a lack of service awareness?"

Palazzo Motor Lodge ★★★
"Brilliant place, very big room with a kitchen as well. Absolutely great after hours service as well. We arrived late and told the hotel before and the reception still came out of the back room to help us and recommended us with great spots to go visit and great dinner places as well. Had too short a stay at this place, will definitely come back for a longer visit. They even have a bathtub!!"
