"I booked this hotel without hesitation solely for the bunk beds with a slide, despite seeing many negative or mixed reviews on Xiaohongshu. To be honest, this phenomenon of villages being densely packed with guesthouses is common in places like Zhoushan too, and as long as there's no noise, I'm perfectly fine with it. The hotel breakfast is very generous; usually, sharing just two portions is enough for an entire family. They also offer different snacks every evening. Renting an electric scooter from the entrance is convenient, and the bicycles provided by the hotel are free. I contacted the concierge in advance to mention my child's birthday, and they kindly provided a complimentary 4-inch cake on the day. So sweet! 🎂"

"This hotel, Changliu Mountain Abode, shares its name with Changliu from 'The Journey of Flower' and boasts a wonderful ambiance. The guest rooms are not in the main lobby building but in a separate, independent building next to it. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a massage bed, which made for a very comfortable rest and a fantastic night's sleep. The balcony features a large bathtub, which adds a great touch to the atmosphere. Curtains around the tub ensure privacy, so there's no need to worry about that.
The only minor drawback is that there's no indoor connecting passage between the two buildings. If it rains, you have to go outside, which means you could get wet.
The hotel's advantages are quite prominent. It has a private gate that offers direct access to the popular Fish Scale Dam, making it very convenient for water activities. However, summer is peak season, and the Fish Scale Dam gets very crowded, so it's advisable to visit during off-peak hours.
The thoughtful welcome amenities include a complimentary afternoon tea, and the breakfast buffet offers a rich variety of choices."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. We traveled here by private car from Baise, and the entrance is quite small – truly a hidden gem, just as other online reviews described! The natural environment of the hotel is quite impressive. But what surprised me even more was the service. From check-in, seeing that there were three of us, they upgraded us to a triple room with a panoramic corner view, so we could wake up with the sunrise. Since we didn't have a car and were planning how to get to Detian Scenic Area (even though it's only 2 kilometers away), the front desk offered a shuttle service. So, the round-trip transfers to Detian from the hotel on our second day were all arranged by the hotel staff. During our 1+ day stay, every single staff member we encountered greeted us warmly with a smile, and offered helpful advice on routes and precautions for exploring the scenic area. Their genuine kindness was the most delightful aspect of our trip.
Additionally, the hotel's own restaurant offers all-day dining. We had a late breakfast, then headed to Detian, and after Detian, we went to the Blue Grotto. We didn't want to eat at those scenic area restaurants, as the ambiance and food safety are definitely not as good as the hotel's. So, after finishing our activities, we chose to dine at the hotel around 3 PM. We just needed to inform the front desk what we wanted to eat about half an hour in advance. The pineapple rice is a must-try!"

"I booked a mountain view room, but they upgraded me to a 'Guyu' (Grain Rain) room, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. The butler was very responsive, almost replying instantly. Since there's no delivery service nearby, the hotel's food options were a bit limited. I had a toothache and couldn't eat regular dishes, so I found a hidden menu item at the community canteen: plain noodles.
**Bicycle Sightseeing Experience:** For bicycles, you need to book early. When I went to borrow one around 5 PM, they were all gone, so I had to wait for others to return them.
**Exquisite Travel Photography:** I only managed to book the midday slot, which was too hot. I decided not to change outfits or do makeup. I just asked the photographer to take a few casual family shots, and the results were surprisingly satisfying."

"The hotel is less than a kilometer from the Mingshi Pastoral Scenic Area ticket office, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The room amenities are thoughtfully prepared. The hotel staff are all very friendly, and there's complimentary tea and bottled water available in the lobby on the first floor for self-service. There are many restaurants nearby to choose from. The breakfast was pretty good. It's located by the road, so there's some car noise (but not many cars at night, so it's fine then). The soundproofing in the rooms could be improved; kids in the hallway started making noise before 7 AM."

"The car drove to the entrance of the hotel, there was a handsome guy who came to help me with my luggage 🧳, the hotel has an elevator, the room is smart in the whole house, there is a Xiao Ai classmate control, the TV is also big, the air conditioning, shower water are very good, the bedding is clean and quiet, the handsome guy helps to buy tickets cheap and convenient, I also bought the ticket after breakfast in the morning. It is more than 200 meters away from the entrance of the scenic spot. It is worth recommending."

GuobaoThis truly lives up to its reputation as a top-tier luxury wilderness resort in China. Nestled by the Mingshi River and surrounded by karst peaks, opening the window reveals a picturesque landscape. The check-in experience was full of thoughtful touches, and the butler service was meticulous and attentive. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with little details like welcome fruit and complimentary sweet soup at night. The infinity pool offers direct views of the green mountains, and the sunset ambiance in the evening is absolutely captivating. The bamboo raft afternoon tea was an excellent experience. The hotel's dining was superb, and the breakfast luosifen (river snail noodles) was a pleasant surprise. It's a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle for an immersive vacation. Definitely worth a special trip, and I'll be back again!

Extremely satisfied with this guesthouse! I initially chose this location because the electric scooter parking at Yu Lin Ba (Fish Scale Dam) costs money, so I figured I'd stay here, see the dam, and then rent a scooter. That turned out to be a great decision – the location is incredibly advantageous, and currently, this guesthouse offers the best value and is the prettiest in the area.
The hotel rooms come with washing machines, there's a 'Sky Mirror' on the rooftop, and a kids' pool downstairs. What really stands out is how attentive they are to every detail. Every corner is spotless. When I went to the Sky Mirror at noon, an auntie even specially cleaned the glass. The swimming rings by the pool were all nice and new, not tattered at all. The room also had a Tmall Genie, and the cleaning was impeccable. I arrived early, and they opened one room for me, and I practically watched them prepare the adjacent one. When we checked in, the staff immediately took photos of our license plate to link it to the parking system. The service was incredibly thoughtful, and we even received brown sugar as a parting gift when we checked out. A truly delightful stay!

I booked this guesthouse last minute and it exceeded my expectations. It's a quiet little place tucked away in a bustling area. The location is right at the entrance of Shuolong Street. Across the river is Vietnam, and the border crossing is to the left. They have their own parking area, which is very convenient. Our triple room was on the fifth floor. There's an elevator, which is great for the elderly. The views are expansive. The room has wooden tables and chairs, which adds a nice touch. The food was also delicious. It's a charming little spot with a lot of character.

1. Amazing hospitality.
The hotel owner, Shaowei was there to help us in every possible way. She brought us to see the panoramic view of Mingshi Tianyuan with her own expenses. She also took us to another place to watch native people’s dance, sing and bonfire after dinner. She also helped me to catch a local bus to another town. Her kindness was simply beyond my expectations. If I come back to Mingshi, the reason will be not the town itself, but Shaowei.
2. Flawless cleanness
Everything looked to be built just now. Clean, comfortable and tidy. No smell of cigarette or whatsoever.
3. Decent breakfast
Breakfast is simple but the taste is good. You can enjoy rice noodle, rice porridge and fruits with good tea and soy milk.
4. Great location
The hotel is located close to the bus station and you can get on any local bus passing by easily. Good restaurants are everywhere nearby as well.
Thank you so much for all the help and care. I really wish to meet you again.

EatPrayTravelLocation of hotel is very convenient for travelers who take the tourist bus from either Chungzuo, Nanning or from Detian waterfalls scenic area. The room we booked had a nice view of the fields and karst mountains. What a beautiful sight to behold indeed. During the day, it can get noisy with all the comings and goings in the village and all around but at night, it was very quiet. The rooftop terrace was very nice and not busy when we were there. Breakfast was enjoyable with steamed buns, corn, soup noodles and boiled sweet potatoes- a healthy start for a very busy day. The very nice lady in charge of breakfast offered us breakfast on our check in day (we arrived at 10:30) and made sure we had enough to eat before sending us off to explore! We had never met a B&B operator who was so caring and generous. On our check out day, even though she was still busy with guests, she rushed out to bid us a fond farewell and a safe onward trip. Front desk and cleaning team were all very friendly, always smiling and helpful. All in all, a very warm and pleasant stay at Mingshi Scenic Area.

Garin4618The location is excellent, right inside the scenic area, and the environment is lovely, much prettier than outside, like something out of a painting. I'd read reviews beforehand and knew the facilities were a bit old, so I had managed expectations. Compared to guesthouses, I'd personally recommend this hotel more. The breakfast is significantly better than what guesthouses offer, and they even included tickets to the Torch Festival. Overall, I'd still recommend it.

Hey Shanghainese folks, listen up! It's only a few hundred meters from the actual main entrance, but for lazy people, it might be a bit of a trek. You can drive there, and parking is 30 RMB. The guesthouse itself is really great – clean and relatively quiet! It's the tallest and largest guesthouse around, standing out from the ones on either side, so the views are unobstructed. During the National Day holiday, things were busy, but the landlady kept her cool and was super responsive to everything, which I really appreciated. Honestly, after looking around this trip, the service here was better than other so-called high-end guesthouses. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. There's parking right outside. I didn't have the landlady buy the 80 RMB tickets for me because she couldn't get them until 8:30 AM, and the scenic area opens at 7:30 AM. I bought my 110 RMB ticket online directly and was the first one through the gates on National Day. By 9 AM, when I was done and leaving, the peak crowds were just arriving. Then I went back to the guesthouse, took a shower, had some noodles, and relaxed watching a Vietnamese drama – pretty sweet!

Generally not evaluated, but I feel very good. In the newly opened homestay, we booked two rooms for two nights. The scenery outside the window was very good. The twin rooms on the second floor and the third floor were all floor-to-ceiling windows. The big bed room on the fourth floor had a balcony and I liked it very much. The price was right. The owner of the hotel is very good, and the situation is solved in time. They also opened a drink stall downstairs and sent us juice. I have introduced my friends, the door is the fish scale dam, and the night market stall is downstairs. convenient.

It should be a better hotel in the town. The boss also helped me buy tickets at the distribution center the next day. I stayed there for two days. The area around the hotel is quite lively and there are many places to eat.

The room facilities, though a bit dated, were very well-maintained and clean, showing the hotel's dedication. The hotel is located near the Guichun River within the scenic area, offering views of the Vietnamese people across the river, though the barbed wire fence is a bit of a letdown. However, the hotel's garden restaurant is an absolute disaster—the food is unappetizing and truly awful. I'd recommend eating before you check in or returning to the hotel to rest after you've had a meal elsewhere.
