When we checked in, the staff immediately took photos of our license plate to link it to the parking system. The service was incredibly thoughtful, and we even received brown sugar as a parting gift when we checked out. A truly delightful stay!"

This guesthouse is a converted local villager's house, and there's parking available right at the entrance. However, driving into the village was a bit messy due to ongoing construction at other guesthouses nearby. The infinity pool on the rooftop is definitely the best spot for photos. The bedding and air conditioning in the room were very comfortable. Breakfast offered basic meals, and on the first floor, they also provided complimentary mung bean soup (after 6 PM), peaches, and local lycheu. The room rate of over 700 RMB is close to what you'd pay for a five-star hotel in the city, but staying in late June meant we avoided the peak season prices of July and August. The restaurant on the first floor also serves lunch and dinner, and you can order à la carte. The front desk staff were gentle and soft-spoken. My only slight complaint about this stay was on the first day, there were flies in the room, and the mosquito repellent spray bottle was empty."

It's really close to Yulinba (Fish Scale Dam) and located within a resort area that has more than just this hotel, including pricier options like Mingshi Yayuan. The only difference is that those hotels have river-facing rooms, while this one is set back a bit. However, the restaurant part *is* right by the river, so in terms of location, it's pretty much on par with the more expensive places. As a guest, you also get free bike rentals and access to the museum, which has a few popular photo spots. The downsides are that the room facilities are a bit old. As soon as you walk in, there's a damp, woody smell from the furniture, and there are no charging outlets by the bed. Also, the bicycles are quite old."

The room is huge, with a split-level design. Downstairs is the living room and bathroom, and a balcony with views of the garden and pool. Upstairs is the bedroom, a very reasonable separation of living and sleeping areas. Crucially, there's almost no light pollution or noise, which is truly rare and wonderful. Secondly, the service is outstanding. Many hotels offer butler service groups, but the Mingshi Courtyard's butler was the most responsive I've encountered. From golf cart transfers and addressing requests to providing directions and more – during my four-day stay, every single staff member I met was smiling, warm, attentive, and patient. It felt like they all owned the place themselves. The management is truly impressive! Finally, and the biggest perk, is how convenient it is to stay at Mingshi Courtyard for exploring Chongzuo, given its proximity to Mingshi Scenic Area. It's actually located *inside* the Mingshi Scenic Area, allowing for an immersive experience of the pastoral scenery. It's also super convenient for visiting Dao Na Li Cafe, Detian Waterfall, and Dongna Yuwan. You can even borrow bicycles from the hotel and cycle through the fields, which is incredibly relaxing! They even gave us organic rice and other souvenirs when we left. I really wanted to write them a good review, hoping more people will discover this high-quality hotel!"
