"First off, the hotel's location is fantastic, right inside the Tonghu Grassland scenic area. The environment is superb, and transportation is very convenient, with shuttle buses available within the scenic area. The butler service was exceptionally good; they provide one-on-one service, contacting you in advance and offering excellent suggestions for your itinerary. Since we were traveling with our child this time, he participated in the evening stargazing activity, which I highly recommend! It's especially great for fostering a child's interest in astronomy. The hotel also hosted an amazing 'Ma Dao Cheng Gong' (instant success) equestrian show in the evening, which was incredibly impressive and definitely worth seeing. Additionally, the hotel offers excellent travel photography services at a reasonable price, and the photos turned out beautifully. "The biggest surprise of my trip to Zhongwei was staying at the Xiang Tengger Desert Hotel. Deep in the Tengger Desert, far from the hustle and bustle, the dedicated shuttle service made check-in hassle-free, saving us the trouble of driving into the sand ourselves. The rooms were clean and dry, which is quite rare for a desert environment, and the facilities exceeded our expectations. During the day, we enjoyed playing on the sand dunes, with plenty of activities like sandboarding and other desert adventures that kept the kids entertained. In the evening, we waited for the stunning desert sunset, and after dark, there was a bonfire party and fireworks. Looking up, we could see the brilliant Milky Way – the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. The staff were warm and attentive, quickly resolving any issues we had. Overall, it perfectly blended wilderness adventure with comfort, making it ideal for a family trip. If I ever return to the Zhongwei desert, I'll definitely stay here again."

The location is superb, right on the edge of the vast desert. In the afternoons, we could easily climb sand dunes and watch the sunset. My kids spent every day playing happily in the sand, they didn't want to leave. After checking in, the hotel added us to an exclusive WeChat group, which made it super convenient for daily inquiries and requests. I have to specifically praise their heartwarming service: I accidentally lost my DJI Pocket 3 while out and about. I was already disheartened and about to give up, but I decided to ask in the group. To my surprise, someone had found it quickly! The staff immediately secured it and personally delivered it to me. The joy of getting it back was indescribable. Their honesty and efficiency were truly commendable, giving us a complete sense of security. The restaurant's food exceeded our expectations; the home-style dishes were perfectly to our taste. "I was very satisfied with this stay! From the moment we checked in, someone helped us with our luggage. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even arranged for a buggy to take our extensive luggage to our room. We stayed in a stargazing tent, which, though small, had everything we needed. It came with an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. The tent had three layers, effectively keeping out insects and sand, and blocking light. However, the insulation was a bit lacking; it could get hot at midday, which is understandable. The hotel is very close to the scenic area, with a shuttle bus service taking just a few minutes, and complimentary admission tickets are included, so you can start exploring right away. The hotel offers many all-day activities, from crafts to educational science programs, suitable for both adults and children. The desert is right next to the hotel, perfect for watching sunsets and sunrises, and excellent for stargazing away from light pollution. There's even a special stargazing class at night, and the expert explanations were incredibly informative! On clear nights, you can even see the Milky Way! The late-night snacks were great value for money, and breakfast was also excellent. The sound of the wind against the tent at night was not too loud. Although the stargazing tents use keypad locks, the security felt very high. This hotel is highly recommended for families with children!"

"I checked out yesterday at noon. I booked the hotel after seeing it advertised in a live stream. I was really interested in this new hotel, which just opened in August. Before going, I specifically checked the reviews, and they weren't great; most complaints were about the service. I decided to give it a try anyway and booked for two nights. I understand that building a hotel in the desert is expensive, and the owner is clearly aiming for a long-term business model. However, given all the effort and investment, why is the service so lacking? The hardware facilities are actually quite decent, but the service truly falls short. Firstly, there was no greeting from the bellhop; they just immediately asked about check-in and took my luggage. At the front desk, the staff member processed my check-in without even looking up, no smile, no tea, no candies. After we got to the room, there were flies. I contacted a staff member, and they just brought an electric fly swatter for us to deal with ourselves. My child had nosebleeds on both the first and second day, and when I asked if there was a medical room, they said no, and that I'd have to go to Zhongwei city to buy supplies. There wasn't even the most basic level of concern. On the day of check-in, we received a fruit platter, but we hardly ate it because it was mostly apples, and the pears needed peeling. On the second day, there was no disposable toothbrush for my child, and the single-use toiletries were incredibly small, completely different from what was advertised. Overall, the experience was very poor. If the owner continues to operate like this, fewer and fewer people will visit. The breakfast was also mediocre, and I have pictures to prove it. The only thing I was most satisfied with was the hotel's design style, which is very beautiful and great for photos. It's such a shame that a hotel with such good design is let down by its service."

"The campground is inside the Impression Tengger Scenic Area. There are campgrounds all around (I checked and found that almost all the ones offering free Tengger tickets are located nearby). Sandstorm offers the best value. 😁 The service was excellent. Mr. Li contacted me right after booking to confirm how to get to the campground. (If you drive, you can only reach the scenic area entrance; it's all desert inside and you have to change cars. There's no guide, and you don't know the way. 😂) Tengger activities are right next to it. The hotel has a bonfire, iron flower making, fireworks, and a karaoke bar. It's all quite lively. After 5 or 6, when the sun isn't so strong, it's wonderful to walk along the sand dunes for two or three hours. It's refreshing and you can even watch the sunset. The shared bathrooms are also quite spacious, with lockers and benches for storing clothes. A tip for you ladies: wash and change into your regular shoes before returning to your tent (you'll still get sandy if you wear slippers. 😂) It rained this time, so unfortunately I couldn't see the stars, but it was a special experience. Even with the strong wind and heavy rain, sand didn't get into the tent, which was great. 😀"
