"The room was great! My kids loved playing in the sand right outside our terrace, and I could easily keep an eye on them. We had endless fun sandboarding. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the water pressure was perfectly fine. The room also featured a smart assistant for controlling the curtains. Our hydration needs in the desert were completely met, whether it was hot water for tea, 45-degree water for the kids' formula, or room-temperature water โ all available at the touch of a button, making it super comfortable and convenient. The butler contacted us in advance with check-in information, and the pick-up/drop-off service was seamless and always available when needed. The restaurant and entertainment options were also good. Desert stargazing and educational activities kept the kids engaged. Plus, the scenic area was right next door. Overall, a really great experience!"

"The Mars Cabin was incredibly comfortable and clean, with a full range of children's amenities, making it perfect for families. The hotel's personalized service was excellent. My child was just over 1.2 meters tall, but the hotel didn't charge extra. There were plenty of activities, so we never got bored. A special thanks to our butler, Xiao Zhao, who basically responded to our WeChat messages instantly. Whenever we needed a shuttle, he'd arrange it within 5 minutes. When I was leaving the hotel, my car accidentally got stuck in a sand pit. Under the scorching midday sun, Butler Xiao Zhao spent over an hour tirelessly helping me โ putting down planks, shoveling sand, pushing the car, and finally coordinating the hotel's tow truck, even though my rental car didn't even have a tow hook (a note to Shenzhou Car Rental: provide cars with tow hooks!). He finally got my car out."

"Facilities: The hotel facilities are very new, and the attention to detail is excellent.
Hygiene: Very good, clean and sanitary. There wasn't a speck of dust on the bedside shelf, which shows great attention to detail.
Environment: I originally thought a 200+ yuan hotel wouldn't be that good, but the environment completely exceeded my expectations.
Service: The front desk staff was also very helpful. They allowed us to store our luggage and even recommended local snacks and other attractions. Plus, food deliveries can be brought directly to your room by a robot.
To sum it up: It completely exceeded my expectations. The service and bedding, among other things, can easily compare to larger hotels like All Seasons.

"I stayed in an air-conditioned cabin without a private bathroom this time. It was cleaner than I expected. I'd recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops for the shared showers. Other amenities like toothbrushes and towels were disposable, which was great. Getting a taxi was difficult, but the host was incredibly thoughtful and came to pick us up. There was a bonfire party in the evening, and they set off fireworks like there was no tomorrow! Watching the stars and fireworks in the desert was absolutely beautiful!"

"This hotel has so much heart! I'd give five stars across the board for cleanliness, environment, facilities, and especially the service. The thoughtful details really made us feel warm and welcome. For example, the 'village chief' (staff member) who led the educational program for the kids was incredibly patient and dedicated. Even though the sessions were short, his genuine enthusiasm and responsibility made it enjoyable for both children and adults, and the kids learned so many unforgettable things about the desert. The restaurant food was delicious too; our child always ate so much! One afternoon at lunch, we casually asked about the cold noodles a staff member was eating for their own meal, and the kitchen immediately sent us a portion โ we were so touched! The village chief was also incredibly kind. Realizing we didn't have a car, he even lent us his own vehicle, which truly warmed our hearts. This trip, the hotel truly allowed us to experience the warmth and generosity of the people in Northwest China. Our travel experience was fantastic! My only regret is that our vacation was too short; we didn't get enough time here. I'll definitely recommend it to friends and will come back if I get the chance! ๐๐๐"

"Located in the very center of Zhongwei, a small city, the room wasn't very large, smaller than comparable hotels in Yinchuan, which was a bit surprising. The cleanliness was excellent, and the soundproofing was acceptable for a hotel in this price range. The breakfast quality matched the price, and the late-night congee was a nice touch. Service quality needs to go beyond the surface; it needs to be more detailed. For example, the napkins on the tables seemed thoughtful at first glanceโone for each seatโbut upon closer inspection, they were reused, and I don't know how many times they'd been used. It was nauseating! Another interesting thing was that, whether it was a requirement from the brand or a preference of the owner, the music in the elevator was an old 60s or 70s song, โYesterday Once More.โ Is the hotel targeting older people?"

"The Desert Poplar Hotel is a beautifully designed resort nestled in the Tengger Desert ๐. As a newly opened hotel, some of the details and amenities are still a bit unrefined and need further polishing. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional effort and sincerity of all the staff. They've also made excellent choices with their amenities; complimentary Perrier water, Bulgari toiletries, and even a delicate 'Little Prince' gift set for kids' toiletries ๐ โ I loved it!
Throughout my three-day stay ๐, from the front desk and housekeeping to the on-site service staff, everyone was warm, sincere, and incredibly responsive to our needs. They went above and beyond to resolve any issues, and you could genuinely feel the entire team's dedication to providing excellent service.
The dining service was also superb ๐ด. The buffet restaurant offered fresh ingredients, and every dish at the ร la carte restaurant was meticulously prepared and delicious!
The hotel's hardware is outstanding ๐จ. The white architecture beautifully complements the desert landscape, and the desert pool and stargazing opportunities are excellent. The rooms are clean, and it's a great place for photos.
While the new hotel still has room to grow, the overall stay was fantastic. I can see the team's effort and progress, and I look forward to even more refined details in the future. I would definitely be willing to return."

"Highly recommend the Hampton by Hilton Zhongwei! Our stay was excellent.
The hotel's location is super convenient, right in the city center, making it easy to get around and explore. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was spotless and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was great, so we slept really well. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted good. Overall, it's fantastic value for money. Check-out and invoicing were also very fast, and they even helped us register our license plate for free parking.

"Overall, it was decent, I guess, considering it's in the desert and conditions are limited, so you can't expect too much. Stepping out, you're literally in the sand, and any small dune is perfect for sandboarding. The restaurant offered good meals for all three sittings, with options for ร la carte or hot pot buffet. While the choices weren't extensive, it was fine for a two-day stay; I felt like I'd get tired of the food if I stayed longer. Also, paid desert activities like dune buggy rides and camel riding were more expensive here than at the nearby Tonghu Grassland scenic area. If you plan on doing paid activities, I'd suggest doing them at the scenic area first, then staying in the desert to enjoy free activities like sandboarding, hiking, and stargazing. I highly recommend stargazing; it's beautiful even with the naked eye. Finally, I booked this hotel mainly for the pool and professional astronomical telescope. The desert gets too hot in the afternoon, so besides swimming, you're pretty much stuck in your room with the AC on. There weren't many activities available here, and they said all the activity materials were out of stock. Well... on our first day, the water was too dirty to swim in. They did change the water on the second day, but it took all day, and by evening, the water still hadn't reached knee-level. Our child went in to splash around for a bit and said it was cold. When I touched it, I realized the water was ice-cold, like mountain spring water. We quickly took him back for a hot shower, fearing he'd catch a cold. Then, during stargazing that night, we found out the astronomical telescope was also broken, so we could only stargaze with our naked eyes... I'd just say it was a less-than-perfect desert trip."

The guest room was spacious, and the bedding was clean and soft, making for a very comfortable sleep. The hot water came out quickly and at a stable temperature, and the bathroom area was dry and tidy. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet night's rest. The front desk staff were warm and polite, even giving us many boxes of Zhongwei็ก็ ็ to try. Check-in was very quick. The surrounding area is also quite convenient for getting around. As a new establishment, both the hardware and cleanliness are impeccable, offering great value for money. It's perfect for both leisure travel and short stays, highly recommended. It's worthy of being called Xipo. The service and the room are so good.
Taking advantage of the off-peak season, I came alone to experience the Yellow River Homestay. Each homestay has a different decoration style. I chose Xipo on the recommendation of my friend and was very satisfied. The facilities and services corresponding to this price are really worth it. The price of two nights in the off-season is equivalent to the price of a normal night. The hair dryer is Dyson, and the toiletries are all from the laboratory. There are also beer + drinks in the mini bar, freshly ground coffee, and freshly made bread (forgot to take a picture). The sea salt rolls are super delicious, and the scones are also good, not sweet at all, which suits my taste.
The whole homestay is very quiet, close to the Yellow River, and there are trails. If there are many people at night, you can drink, eat barbecue and watch the stars by the Yellow River.
The service of private butler Xiaoying is really excellent. She will contact the guests about three days before you check in and help arrange some matters, such as car pick-up, introduction of food, drink and entertainment nearby, food, drink and entertainment in Zhongwei, and travel photography needs. She will also recommend it. After check-in, she will also take meticulous care of the guests. She deserves 100 points. Such a niche place is highly recommended for family and couple travel. If you go to Zhongwei, you must stay at Huanghe Suji to experience the local traditional customs.

Everything was excellent, and the service was exceptionally satisfactory. The public breakfast restaurant was particularly comfortable and the service was personalized. The only drawback was the lack of fast charging in the entire parking lot, with only three slow charging stations. Many electric vehicle models couldn't be charged there and had to be driven 8 kilometers to the township power supply station to charge.

Overall, this hotel is quite worth staying at. I really liked the hotel's design, ambiance, and facilities, and the room was also good. I booked a room with a hot tub, and the cleanliness was excellent.
However, the service and management were clearly weak points. On the day of check-in, the hotel was fully booked, and the lobby, which isn't very large, was crowded. When we first arrived at the parking lot, there was only one older gentleman working, and it took a while to find someone to help with luggage, clearly indicating a staff shortage. During check-in, there wasn't much proactive information provided; staff only told me things after I asked. Compared to other hotels of similar standing I've stayed at before, there was a noticeable gap in service professionalism.
The restaurant gave a similar impression. The staff's attitude wasn't bad, but the service felt inexperienced. The food itself was generally mediocre, though the beef skewers at dinner were surprisingly delicious ๐. Interestingly, some of the older staff members around the hotel were very diligent, constantly cleaning and bustling about. So, my feeling after staying wasn't that there was an issue with staff attitude, but rather that the hotel's staffing, training, and management haven't kept up with its excellent facilities.
This is quite a shame because the hotel itself is really well-done.
What deserves special praise are the hotel's activities; the explanations were very thorough and professional, and this part of the experience was excellent. Coupled with the desert environment and the starry sky, I think it's still worth staying for those who come specifically to experience the desert.
If you only look at the design, room, cleanliness, and overall environment, I really like it. If the management and service professionalism can be improved later on, the overall hotel experience should be much better.

They were incredibly excited the whole time, playing in the sand and sandboarding during the day, stargazing at night, and attending a bonfire party โ they were so happy they didn't want to sleep! The tents were quiet and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and even helped look after the children. A fantastic experience, five stars!

The heating and air conditioning are sufficient, giving southerners a full sense of security. There are also many types of breakfast, and in order to avoid waste, they are very considerate and cut into small pieces. When breakfast is about to end, they will knock on the door of each room to ask if you have eaten breakfast. The service was very good and enthusiastic. The air conditioner was already on when I checked in. The lady at the front desk also helped to deliver the luggage to the room and explained the precautions very considerately.

Guest UserI absolutely loved this place! Iโm writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. ไธ โDongโ was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, thereโs a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and itโs worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.
