"The biggest surprise of my trip to Zhongwei was staying at the Xiang Tengger Desert Hotel. Deep in the Tengger Desert, far from the hustle and bustle, the dedicated shuttle service made check-in hassle-free, saving us the trouble of driving into the sand ourselves. The rooms were clean and dry, which is quite rare for a desert environment, and the facilities exceeded our expectations. During the day, we enjoyed playing on the sand dunes, with plenty of activities like sandboarding and other desert adventures that kept the kids entertained. In the evening, we waited for the stunning desert sunset, and after dark, there was a bonfire party and fireworks. Looking up, we could see the brilliant Milky Way – the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. The staff were warm and attentive, quickly resolving any issues we had. Overall, it perfectly blended wilderness adventure with comfort, making it ideal for a family trip. If I ever return to the Zhongwei desert, I'll definitely stay here again."

"We brought our kids to visit the Tengger Desert and Shapotou. The environment was great, and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic. We arrived the night before, planning to go out the next day, but by the time we got there, there were no parking spots left near the entrance. The front desk staff guided us to park in the underground garage across the street and even kindly reimbursed our parking fee the next day. That definitely deserves a thumbs up! During the weekdays, dinner is à la carte, but on weekends and during the summer holidays when it's busier, dinner becomes a buffet. The à la carte dining was reasonably priced, with home-style cooking. Bottled water was complimentary and readily available. The hotel staff were all very friendly. When we took the kids to Shapotou, the hotel helped arrange a taxi for convenient pick-up and drop-off. The hotel offered a wide range of family-friendly activities, which the kids really enjoyed."
