"The biggest surprise of my trip to Zhongwei was staying at the Xiang Tengger Desert Hotel. Deep in the Tengger Desert, far from the hustle and bustle, the dedicated shuttle service made check-in hassle-free, saving us the trouble of driving into the sand ourselves. The rooms were clean and dry, which is quite rare for a desert environment, and the facilities exceeded our expectations. During the day, we enjoyed playing on the sand dunes, with plenty of activities like sandboarding and other desert adventures that kept the kids entertained. In the evening, we waited for the stunning desert sunset, and after dark, there was a bonfire party and fireworks. Looking up, we could see the brilliant Milky Way – the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. The staff were warm and attentive, quickly resolving any issues we had. Overall, it perfectly blended wilderness adventure with comfort, making it ideal for a family trip. If I ever return to the Zhongwei desert, I'll definitely stay here again."

"We stayed here for a one-night stay in the desert with our kids, and it was only a little over 100 yuan – a great deal! The receptionist was very nice; we arrived around 11 pm and they upgraded us since there were rooms available. There are many vendors selling selenium-rich watermelons near the entrance (local drivers said 10 yuan each, 15 yuan for two; I bought mine at the night market for 1.5 yuan per jin). There's a lamb restaurant to the right outside; their hand-pulled lamb is good, but the barbecue is not. A taxi from the train station costs 6 yuan (there will be touts along the way, but it's a local custom; you get used to it). A taxi to Jinshahai costs 50 yuan (the closest and most affordable place to do desert activities in Zhongwei). We'll definitely come back next time!"

This is what we feel is the happiest. The children in the small lake at the entrance of the hotel can play in the sand. The sand slopes before and after can be climbed in the sand. If you arrive early, you can let the boss arrange desert activities (we took the Star Wars, rode the camel, rowed the sand, took the go-kart... and travel photography are indispensable), mainly because the boss is very honest, the recommended things are particularly good, the service is good, and the fun is also fun. "I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and bright; photos are for reference only. The area around the hotel is quite bustling, offering convenient access to food and shopping. The hotel staff are very professional. When I asked the receptionist for recommendations on nearby restaurants, she was very helpful. "The campground is inside the Impression Tengger Scenic Area. There are campgrounds all around (I checked and found that almost all the ones offering free Tengger tickets are located nearby). Sandstorm offers the best value. 😁 The service was excellent. Mr. Li contacted me right after booking to confirm how to get to the campground. (If you drive, you can only reach the scenic area entrance; it's all desert inside and you have to change cars. There's no guide, and you don't know the way. 😂) Tengger activities are right next to it. The hotel has a bonfire, iron flower making, fireworks, and a karaoke bar. It's all quite lively. After 5 or 6, when the sun isn't so strong, it's wonderful to walk along the sand dunes for two or three hours. It's refreshing and you can even watch the sunset. The shared bathrooms are also quite spacious, with lockers and benches for storing clothes. A tip for you ladies: wash and change into your regular shoes before returning to your tent (you'll still get sandy if you wear slippers. 😂) It rained this time, so unfortunately I couldn't see the stars, but it was a special experience. Even with the strong wind and heavy rain, sand didn't get into the tent, which was great. 😀"
