"This is the closest campsite to Kings Canyon, a good place to rest if you're going to Kings Canyon. Our room only had a bed; you had to use the communal bathroom for washing, but it was convenient. Cooking was only possible in the communal kitchen, so you needed to bring your own utensils and tableware. There were a lot of insects at the campsite, as it's in the mountains, so be prepared. There's a trail next to the campsite leading to a small mound, which is a great spot for watching the sunrise."
"There's a Uluru lookout point right inside the backpacker hostel. It's a lot further than getting into the park itself, but it's perfectly fine for a day when you're not using tours or buses. The showers and toilets have a lot of bugs, which is typical for the area. I was traveling alone, so I didn't have any issues, but if I were with my parents, I'd probably opt for a higher-ranked hotel. They offer free tea and coffee, and even though it was my first time in a 20-person dorm, it was totally manageable! There were also a lot of Japanese guests."
"There's a breakfast buffet, a swimming pool, and a BBQ buffet inside. Parking is conveniently located right next to the rooms, which is great.
However, we initially had a hard time finding our room and circled around several times before finally finding it 😅 Overall, it was a fantastic experience! Highly recommended! 👍🏻"
"We had a fantastic stay at The Lost Camel Hotel. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The location is excellent, close to everything you need around Yulara.
The service was outstanding, with staff who were always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. Dining was also a highlight—Geckos and Ayers Wok both offered delicious food that really made the stay even more enjoyable.
Overall, The Lost Camel Hotel exceeded my expectations. A comfortable stay, great service, and an ideal location—I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area."
"Good location and service. Cleanness needs improving, there is a big dead cockroaches under the chair for our entire stay but not been removed. Seems like they just made the bed (didn't change them, just made them) and changed the towel, that's all.
The shower design is not great, and it is almost guarantees to get wet everywhere after use.
Tones of insects even in the room, especially in the evening, no door open, so I'm not sure where they came in... but I guess that's deserts.
It's great to have a free laundry facility, which is very helpful. Free activities were a nice touch.
Surprisingly, there are no complementary bottles of water in the room when the hotel is located in the deserts, very unusual compared to all the hotels we stayed.
Nice that we are allowed to use other hotels' facilities, so in general, we did enjoy our trip, and thank you for the friendly staff."
"The airport shuttle dropped us right at the hotel entrance. We left our luggage at the front desk for our early morning flight, and it was already in our room when we returned from our sunset tour in the afternoon. In a desert resort where options are limited, this hotel is definitely among the best. The rooms are spacious, featuring two 1.5-meter beds, and the bathrooms are very clean. Ground floor rooms come with outdoor chairs, which are perfect for enjoying afternoon tea and sunbathing. Housekeeping cleans the room and replaces towels daily. If you're not overly fussy, it's a solid choice. Oh, and the sandwiches at the bar are quite good! It's about a three-minute walk to the Town Square, and a ten-minute climb will get you to the lookout point for stunning Uluru sunrises and sunsets. All sorts of tours and activities can be booked with convenient pick-up and drop-off right at the hotel entrance. This makes things incredibly easy."
"The elderly and children were very satisfied. The room was clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped with utensils and tableware, and it was close to the supermarket, where the prices were not expensive. We bought kangaroo meat and fried it, and used a kind of salty desert leaves as seasoning and decoration. Swimming, watching movies, visiting, and making handicrafts were all free. We got along well with the ants in front of the door and the lizards on the balcony."
