"Our room was fine with a lovely view over the lake. We had an issue with hot water in our room which didn't make for a good overnight. The hotel has nothing around it and is far from the town area however that wasn't an issue for us but may be if you are staying longer. You have no choice but to eat in their restaurant as there is nothing else around. Food and service was very ordinary."

"We (2 Canadian friends) enjoyed our 2-night-stay in Puno that was booked through Exoticca. Reception booked us a very reasonable priced 4-hour-boat-tour to the Iros floating islands which we really enjoyed! The beautiful main square is a few blocks away with a very good restaurant, Mojsa, that was recommended by reception. The room was comfortable with a balcony and windows that opened over the street. On departure day, we were picked up early before breakfast, so a bagged breakfast was prepared for us - requested the previous night. (Quinoa breakfast bar, fruit, juice box) The restaurant dinner food was very good. Breakfast buffet was okay....standard Peruvian. I would recommend staying here. "

"Hotel Ripping Off Meal Charges; On the day of my stay, after checking in, I was about to go out for dinner when the front desk staff strongly recommended the Horel restaurant. I looked at the menu and had a meal there worth 120 soles. (Two Lomo dishes costing 50 soles, the most expensive item on the menu, and two bottles of the cheapest beer costing 10 soles.) When I went to pay after the meal, they kept asking for my room number, so I gave it to them. The next morning, when I checked out and went to pay, they demanded 409 soles. When I asked why the bill was so high since I ate at the restaurant and not room service, they explained that even though I ate at the restaurant, it counts as room service, and because it was dinner time, an additional charge of over 33 soles was added. I was dumbfounded and couldn't understand it, so I felt very upset."

"There aren't many good hotel options in Puno. This hotel is so so so dirty. We changed 3 rooms, and the sheets and quilts were all dirty. We had to sleep in our clothes. The most terrible thing was that the bed in room 327 was broken, and the bath towels were all black. Room 329 was even more terrible, with sheets and quilts all black and dirty. Room 338 was a family room with 3 beds, but the room did not have a lake view and there was noise in the room! It’s up to you how each person chooses! Anyway, I just want it to be clean and quiet"

"A more accurate description would be “Below Standard”. The rooms are very basic. One morning the hot water was only warm, there is no ventilation in the bathroom, and there is a shower curtain. The room is tiny. The pillows are awful. Perhaps it is because it is low season with low occupancy, but the fire was never lit. The breakfast was very poor with stale bread, and 3 tiny cold pancakes and sloppy scrambled eggs.One morning we had to search for a knife and fork because there was no one there. The fridge near reception sells cold drinks - except they aren’t cold. The first night I was able to get ice, the second night I was told they don’t provide ice. The common areas were freezing so to walk from your room to breakfast you needed a jacket. The location was good - that’s about all it has going for it."
