Hotel staff was very welcoming at check in and provided a map of Old Riga and made suggestions for things to see and do. The room itself is clean and includes all necessary amenities. If you plan to do laundry, there’s a 4.50 euro charge to enter the laundry room and then you can use it as much as you want. Bring your own detergent! Great location In the heart of Old Riga by the House of Blackheads. Walking distance within a lot of attractions , especially the Christmas market if you’re visiting in the winter time. It’s also around the corner from the famous Ala Pagrabs. It’s been full every time I went so I had to settle for a seat at the bar which is not very comfortable! Eating out can become expensive so I appreciated being near Rimi Express to buy drinks and snacks that I could put in the mini fridge.

The room and bathroom were very clean throughout our stay, thanks to the cleaning staff (we didn’t get the chance to meet them). Room was perfect for us; good mattress, fridge, kettle, toiletries and extras, including soft slippers. Hot water and heating all good. Location of the hotel is strategic, it’s on a street that goes towards the central train station and bus station, it’s near to public transport stops such as buses and trams, with plenty of cafes and restaurants around, even supermarkets. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Really love the hotel, super clean and strategically located in the heart of Old Town Riga! We can just simply walk around the old town at night, near to shopping mall and the hotel also provide paid parking space. Nice Breakfast as well. Would love to go there again someday.

Everything is perfect! The location is close to everything, and the famous Lido restaurant is just a minute away. There is a park right in front, and the hotel was easy to find! It is clean, and they do a great job with the cleaning!

My first time travellong solo and this hostel hasn't disappointed. Couldn't have asked for a better location than opposite the Riga Central station. I booked the place without being fully aware of the access to transport. The hostel also have a very stringent policies on shoes off in the social space and the bedroom (which as an East Asian I don't really object). Perhaps most surprising was the bathroom cleanliness, which a hostel in Edinburgh really disappointed me on. Finally the receptionist are truly eager to help with any burning questions.

The hotel's location is very central, the reception staff is friendly and polite. Breakfast is adequate and varied. The rooms are clean, there is a kettle, and the bed is comfortable. If I come back, I will stay at the same hotel again. You can leave your luggage free of charge after checking out and explore.

Nice enough hotel for a few days. The room was a bit small for 2 people and luggage. Breakfast was fairly average What we didn't like was the fact that the hotel thinks that they should decide what the temperature should be in our room. Our room was extremely hot!! They disabled the ac setting and the only way to cool down the room was to have the window open. Not ideal when you are next to a train line. Hotels like this need to state that the heating will be on and we have turned off the ac. It's a crazy mindset to have

My stay at the Grand Poet was truly exceptional. The hotel perfectly combines modern elegance with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with every comfort, the beds are incredibly comfortable and the park view is lovely. The spa is a real gem, ideal after a day of exploring the city, and breakfast deserves special praise for its quality and variety. The staff are always attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. A place that turns a stay in Riga into a pure pleasure.

Hotel is very conveniently located, next to the mall and central station, minutes walk to the bus station, central market and old town. Check in was perfect and helpful with city map provided. Kettle, cups, sachet tea and coffee are provided, shampoo, hand soap, tissue paper, shower cap were provided in the bathroom. Would be good if they provided body lotion and hair conditioner. Sadly, the power plugs at the desk does not fit a travel adaptor and there are no usb ports. The single bed was right next to the curtain and a mirror is right in front of the bed, very weird room design. There’s a safe deposit box in the room. Do remember to bring your own slippers as no room slippers are provided.
