De House Hotel ★★★

📍 24, Jalan Lau King Howe, Sibu

"De House Hotel is in a new good location facing waterfront with cafes and shops around, and easy 10min walk to Wisma Sanyan shopping mall, Sibu old town, Central Market & Sibu Night Market. Do note that there are no public buses in Sibu, so do walk/ Grab. Room is fairly clean with new sheets provided every 3 nights, and new towels provided everyday. However, towels & bath mats are grey and do not feel or smell very clean. If you are particular, bring your own. The aircon was dripping and left a huge puddle on the floor (under my luggage) but they changed the room for me immediately and issued me a hotel cafe drink voucher. Strong shower water pressure and firm bedding was my favourite part of the stay. Price is very reasonable and I would consider staying again. Recommended food around the area is Mami Sambal, Tea Alive, Joy food court, Yomie Yogurt, Little Penang and Outright Coffee."

Texas Inn ★★★

📍 Lor Hua Kiew 1, Sibu

"I was a bit concerned when I saw the rate RM98net a night for superior, i.e. standard but it all worked out. first the cons - no safe, no fridge and soundproofing not great, motorcycles outside very noisy in evenings even though its not on main road. The pros, its clean, quite good size, soft bed, clean bathroom and air cond works well. Another point is the bathroom is always wet as there is no shower curtain or divider. Bit annoying but not a deal breaker. I liked the location, 5 min walk to Tua Pel.Kong, night market, 10 minutes to central market, 5 minutes to Sibu Museum. 7 mins to riverside. so a great place to stay if u want to explore Sibu. Nice restaurant downstairs as well which was always packed for lunch and dinner."

De House Hotel ★★★

"This is my second stay here. The service, amenities, decor, location. Except the cleanliness, the floor near the fridge was wet and kinda sticky. We called for help and luckily the staff were very attentive and kind. The wifi was quite slow, n the bed on my side smelled like pee 😭 i only realised after i woke up cz my shirt from the back smelled like it. the smell was very vague, but i was too tired to realised it. i thought it was the smell of the cleaning product since it smelled citric until i sniff the covers.. i had a great stay the last time, idk wht happened this time. maybe the room hasnt been lived in for a while? who knows. the hotel should be more aware towards the cleanliness and comfort for each room so every guest would have a consistent experience. feels like im doing blind boxing.."
