"I don’t normally write a review but we had such a wonderful time here that I felt I had to . I stayed for a week with my daughter and her 4 month old baby girl . I can’t thank the hotel enough for their wonderful help with anything we needed . The staff are incredible , so helpful, thoughtful and just lovely . The front rooms have the most amazing view and the location is just the best . The restaurant was fabulous and again the staff were so attentive and helpful . The Espléndido is a very well run hotel which is obvious within a day of your stay but it’s so much more than that . I have stayed in many hotels over the years and we came away from this one so looking forward to our next visit which is already booked for the same time next year ."

"The hotel is located just a short stroll down the hill to the beach and port. The reception is beautiful and the service at check in was exceptional. The room on the top floor had sensational views out to the beach beyond and through the trees. At was peaceful to sit out there both in the evening and the morning. The rooms are a little dated as other reviewers say but they are very clean and have everything we needed for our stay. The bathroom is tiny in the basic double and the shower was not the best. The rooms could do with refurbishing in line with the rest of the hotel which is modern and decorated beautifully. We opted for half board and were disappointed with the vegan options available on the buffet dinner. The chefs were very helpful in assisting us with our requirements. All we could have was rice, chips and salad. Not the greatest variety of options for vegans. The waiting staff were not great which did affect our dining experience a little. Overall the hotel is beautiful, the staff (except the waiting staff) are exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"A wonderful stay for our week in Majorca. A beautiful setup providing a charming and peaceful location but within walking distance to all the shops, cafes and restaurants in the beautiful town of Soller. The reception area in the accommodation was boutique at its best. The gardens were also accommodating and provided a great spot for an early morning pastry and coffee. Would 100% recommend."

"Casa Bougainvillea is a lovely old hotel that has all of the modern amenities that one might want. It is a restored in-town villa right near the downtown square, but on a quiet street. The patio in the back is secluded -- on warm days, breakfast is served out there. But best of all is the manager Angel, who made our day when my husband forgot our passport in the safe and we were already in the next town -- without a car, as we had hiked there. He drove the passports to us! We remain immensely grateful. That kind of personal touch does not happen every day."

"We stayed for 7 nights in September 2024. Having read recent reviews I thought I’d set out my recollection of our stay which was really unimpressive. On arrival we we greeted respectfully but with no real warmth or welcome. We were surprised that we were asked to provide our breakfast choices for the 7 days stay in advance. The selection was limited and supposedly local Mallorcan. We found the food was very limited and in very small proportions- they made a great fuss about not wasting food and being environmentally friendly but the proportions were mean. For example the breakfast serial was served in very small jars. If you are on a diet this is ok but not if you are a normal eater. All very pretentious. Certainly no Michelin star here! We stayed in a very expensive bungalow which was completely in the shade and the bathroom on occasions smelled very much of drains. We were told that this was the result of recent rain affecting the local drainage. The room was clean but veryold fashioned bordering on tatty, and we were both severely bitten by mosquitoes whilst in the grounds and bed! The grounds were pleasant but the pool was freezing cold. The honesty bar worked well. When we arrived on a Sunday the restaurant was closed - it only opened on one or two evenings during our stay - so we walked into Soller every night which was a good half hour walk. A part of the walk back in the dark is down a dark lane to the Finca passing a number of properties with guard dogs which was disconcerting. Overall extremely expensive, very pretentious, with the staff whilst pleasant appeared to be somewhat superior - and poor value for money. Would never return or recommend."
