"I stayed at Huazhu Qiaoyou Inn in Chaozhou Ancient City from May 11th to 12th, and I'm just getting around to writing this review today. After a tiring journey, I felt I couldn't give a half-hearted review, so I waited until I got home to write it. The three of us, all over 70, felt like we were staying at a relative's house at this guesthouse. After we booked, the owner contacted us and sent us the location a day in advance. When we arrived outside the ancient city, the owner personally came to pick us up, drove us to the inn to drop off our luggage, and then arranged a parking space nearby. They even upgraded our room! The hotel's location is excellent; it's incredibly convenient for visiting Guangji Bridge and strolling through the Archway Street. The room layout was well-designed, with a fresh and novel style, and the air was clean and comfortable. The owner even reminded us not to turn off the floor lamp at night, concerned that we might not see clearly and fall due to our age. They also introduced us to authentic Chaozhou specialties and nearby eateries, and advised us about some overrated items that weren't worth buying. Truly an honest owner! After we checked out, we had to wait to visit the Red Traffic Line Memorial Museum. The owner personally brewed tea for us in the guesthouse lobby, which we greatly appreciated. "Our 2-night stay at Chaozhou Gaoyang Jiujia Inn was easily one of the most memorable parts of our recent trip to Chaozhou with my dad. The inn itself is a beautifully preserved 90-year-old heritage house, where many of the original beams and structures still remain intact and lovingly maintained. Some parts bear scars from the Cultural Revolution, a quiet reminder of history and a little heartbreaking to see — but even through that, you can still glimpse the grace and beauty the house must once have held in full. The rooms were clean, modern, simple, and thoughtfully done. Nothing excessive or flashy, just comfortable in a way that feels homely, genuine and considered. But what truly made this place special was the host. She's warm, sincere, hospitable, and incredibly kind. We were welcomed with fruits and tea, had many lovely chats, and heard stories about the history of the house and the old neighbourhood around it. The host also recommended wonderful nearby local eats, and was especially thoughtful and patient towards my elderly dad throughout our stay. This is not a polished luxury hotel trying to impress. It feels real, unpretentious, soulful. Hidden quietly behind an old street, full of charm and character. Part of me wants to recommend this place to everyone, and another part selfishly wants to keep it a secret. Discover for yourself, a true hidden gem."

"This is a newly opened hotel, and there's no strange smell in the air. The room is clean and well-designed, although a bit small. I was very happy with the bedding and toiletries. It's less than 3 kilometers from the ancient town, and a taxi ride is only 10 yuan. They have laundry facilities, a gym, and convenient parking. The breakfast is simple but delicious, and the soy milk is particularly good. I especially want to mention the staff's attitude – they are truly professional and enthusiastic. In short, this is the best value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed at."

"The courtyard looks lovely, but the room itself is really tiny. We booked a family room, and with three people inside, there was barely enough space to move around. Since it's on the ground floor, the bedding felt damp, and naturally, there were quite a few mosquitos. We chose it for its convenience, being in the ancient town. After checking in, the host immediately sent us a guide for local eats and attractions, which was a nice touch."

"Facilities: The bedding in the room was very comfortable. The courtyard had a washing machine and a tea-drinking area. Although not large, it had a unique charm. Hygiene: Very clean. The cabinets and everything else were wiped spotless. Environment: Located in a small courtyard within the ancient city, it's very convenient for getting around. There are several attractions within 100 meters, and Xima Road is right next door. Guangji Bridge, Kaiyuan Temple, and Paifang Street are only about 500-600 meters away. Taxis and walking are both convenient. In short, staying here is very handy. Service: The host provided excellent and enthusiastic service. They called before my arrival to ask about my estimated arrival time, informed me of the check-in process in advance, provided transportation information, and even recommended many delicious local eateries and shops (with plenty of choices, haha). If you have time, Chaozhou is worth staying in for a few extra days to explore at a leisurely pace; it has a rich cultural heritage. Chaozhou is great, I'll definitely visit again next time."

"The landlady was incredibly warm and friendly, bringing us fresh fruit every day. Parking can be a nightmare during the May Day holiday, but she went above and beyond by reserving a spot for us in the paid parking lot a day in advance. So thoughtful!"

"The location is excellent, with plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. The cleanliness is top-notch; every corner is spotless, and the bed is incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax. I had a very satisfying stay and will definitely be back!"

"The hotel photos were true to life; walking in, it was exactly as pictured! 😁 The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, with disposable towels, bath towels, and tooth cups provided – excellent service. The front desk staff were all very welcoming. Upon check-in, we received a large plate of fruit that was very sweet and delicious. They also pointed us to where we could find breakfast and rent a car, and when we needed more water, the front desk provided it for free. As we left, they even gave us a thoughtful parting gift of candied fruit and tea. This was a delightful trip!"
