"The room was very sparsely furnished. There was no hand soap or paper towels. The bedding was disposable and quite uncomfortable, and the slippers were the plastic kind you find in public baths. Check-in wasn't until after 2 PM, and they weren't flexible even when I wasn't feeling well. The only upside is its proximity to the Ruins of St. Paul's. I don't think it's worth the price. If you mind disposable bedding, you should definitely reconsider."

Opened in 2023, the Family Inn(RUA DE CAMILO PESSANHA) is a great accommodation choice in Macau. The hotel offers easy access to Macau International Airport, just 9km away. In addition, Barra Metro Station is just a short walk away. With Casino Grand Lisboa, Senado Square and Historic Centre of Macau all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. Germaphobes can rest easy - the level of cleanliness is highly rated at this hotel. For guests traveling alone, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"I had a wonderful stay at Family Inn! The entire place was very clean, and the room was kept in excellent condition throughout my visit. The location is perfect—easy to get around, with convenient access to nearby attractions, shops, and restaurants. The service was especially impressive. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free, which made the whole experience even better. Amenities were simple but well-maintained, and everything in the room worked perfectly. I stayed with friends, and we all felt comfortable and welcomed."

"The location is fantastic, right next to Rua de Cinco de Outubro, with tons of eateries that give off a lively, local vibe. On weekends, there's a bustling market nearby at Kang Kung, too. It's only about an 8-minute walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's, so if you get up early, you can catch them without the crowds. The room was really quiet, and the front desk staff were super friendly. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Macau."

The Holiday Hotel is located within easy reach of the Ruins of St. Paul's, listed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Center of Macau in 2005. Downtown Macau is just an 8-minute drive away. Also easily accessible are the popular attraction Monte Forte as well as dining areas where many staple Portuguese, Chinese and Western dishes are served, a perfect opportunity to try the local specialties.

"This hotel IS ACTUALLY VERY GOOD! Spotless with very strategic locations. But if you’re non smokers and allergic to cigarettes smoke, DON’T EVER THINK ABOUT staying here. It’s a small hotel and the rooms are quite small with narrow hallways. That’s not an issue but most guests are SMOKING IN THEIR ROOM and the smell is SOO STRONG. I never had a sleep for two nights straight. That’s really UNFAIR. I paid just like any other guests but I couldn’t enjoy my rights for a peaceful comfortable sleep. Not even an hour! Mind you, this is a non-smoking hotel. Signs are everywhere with fines of MOP 1500 for violations. But people are still smoking cuz the policy isn’t really enforced. It’s just formality. I really wanted to check out after one night but unfortunately the booking couldn’t be modified or refunded. So, I had no choice but to suffocate from the smell of cigarettes. However, I have to appreciate the staff hospitality especially the guy whom I reported the issue. He tried to find me a better room but unfortunately none was available. Well at least he tried and he apologized for what happened. This is really commendable. But as a hotel, it could do better by strictly enforcing the policy of non smoking. It shouldn’t be hard to identify the guests who smoke."

The PENSÃO ELEGANTE (BARRA) provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The PENSÃO ELEGANTE (BARRA) is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Macau. The hotel is conveniently located a short 10km drive from Macau International Airport. Just a short walk from Barra Metro Station, traveling to most city destinations is a breeze. There's plenty to do nearby, with Macau Tower, Ruins of Saint Paul's and Maritime Museum all within a short distance. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling alone.

"This is my second time staying at this hotel. It's right next to the Lower Market and very close to the bus stop, making it convenient to get anywhere. The front desk requires a 100 deposit, and they accept RMB, HKD, or MOP. The decor is relatively new, and the cleanliness is good. I'll consider staying here again next time I'm in Macau."

The Perfect Family Inn provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Perfect Family Inn is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Macau. The hotel is just 9km away from Macau International Airport. With St. Augustine's Square, Travessa da Paixao and Monte Fort all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling alone.

"This hotel is quite good. Although the northern part of Macau where it's located is a bit run-down, it's convenient for dining, close to the Ruins of St. Paul's, and public transport to the south and the airport is excellent. I stayed in a single room, and essentials like slippers and toothbrushes were provided. The main issue was the smell from the facilities. The only elevator seemed to be under renovation when I arrived; it was covered with wooden boards and stickers. When I left, the boards were removed, revealing bare metal. During that time, the elevator had a particularly strong smell that made me think of formaldehyde. I considered taking the stairs, but although the fire escape was clear, it was symbolically roped off, which was puzzling. Both the hallway and my room also had different but very strange odors. While you do get used to it over time, the smell was unsettling. It was a strong, unpleasant, and mysterious odor, and I had no idea what it was. The room windows were locked shut and couldn't be opened, which made me wonder if they hadn't been opened since the last renovation, allowing toxic fumes to linger. My only option was to keep the bathroom fan on and try to mentally adjust. If you can overlook the smell and the psychological stress and potential health risks it caused, I think it's a great place."

"The hotel was a bit hard to find; I had to spend some time on Google Maps to locate it. Most of the nearby restaurants serve Western or Filipino food, but luckily there are two large supermarkets (New Flora City/Lai Lai) where you can shop around. The room was small, but the bathroom amenities were complete. The only downsides were the snowy TV screen and the limited channel selection. The front desk staff were very friendly, smiling and welcoming."

The Vila Universal is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Macau will find that the Vila Universal is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel is conveniently located a short 9km drive from Macau International Airport. Transportation around the city is also convenient, with Barra Metro Station within walking distance. Keeping busy is easy, with Rua da Felicidade, Lou Kau Mansion and S. Francisco Garden all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling alone.

"Stayed at Vila Universal for a quick solo trip and honestly, it overdelivered. The room was surprisingly huge for one person, which made it feel more like a small apartment than a budget stay. They set me up in a smoking room as requested, and it was clean, well kept, and didn’t have that stale smell most smoking rooms suffer from. The shower had proper heating, consistent flow, and zero drama. Location is the real flex here. You’re basically a short walk from Senado Square, so going out for food, photos, or a late night wander is effortless. Staff was straightforward, efficient, and didn’t make check in complicated. Overall, it’s practical, comfortable, and extremely convenient for anyone who wants to stay near the historic center without paying a premium. Would stay again."

"My kid's school was on spring break, so we decided to travel during the off-peak season. I'd read reviews beforehand saying this place was clean and tidy, and although the bed was a bit small, it was enough for two people. Plus, no need for a universal adapter. It's probably a 20-25 minute walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's, so we opted for a taxi, which cost around 20-something (Macau Patacas/Hong Kong Dollars). We got to the Ruins of St. Paul's just after nine, and it was already packed with people. From there, it was an easy walk to the Grand Lisboa and Wynn. I booked in advance, but it ended up being 50 more expensive than booking on the day. James Lewis, the gentleman at the front desk, was very nice and provided excellent service, even getting me a free breakfast."

"Choosing to stay at Macau Oh Be Cheerful Inn was absolutely the right decision! The room was cozy and comfortable, and the access control system made us feel very secure. The location is excellent, making it convenient and quick to get to all the major attractions. What touched us most was on our last day when we were leaving, the owner was incredibly warm and helpful. Not only did they help us carry our large luggage downstairs, but they also personally called a taxi for us and saw us off into the car. This kind of personal touch is really rare in Macau, and I highly recommend it!"

KKaikai10Although the room was small, it was well-arranged and efficiently utilized, so it didn't feel cramped at all. The shower room also felt spacious enough. Everything was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The surrounding area is also quite nice, but the main selling point is the superb location – it's just a 5-minute walk to the Inner Harbour Ferry Terminal and Senado Square, which is incredibly convenient. The staff were also absolutely top-notch. The value for money is excellent, and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Macau.

GGuest UserThe lady at the front desk was incredibly attentive and efficient, always greeting us with a kind and patient smile. Every time we had a question, she responded promptly, making our service experience truly excellent. The hotel facilities are also great. The night before, a male front desk staff member had put us in a very bad mood, but the next morning, the lady at the front desk offered a solution that instantly brightened our spirits. The room was very clean and tidy, the bedding was super comfortable, and the blackout curtains worked perfectly. Plus, their check-out time is really late, which was a huge bonus! Overall, it was a very happy trip.

CChenchendemeihaoshenghuoI chose the Hou Kong Hotel this time and was very satisfied. You can take bus 25 from The Venetian to Shui Kang Mei, and the hotel is right across the road. The soundproofing is excellent; with the windows closed, you barely hear a thing. A special thanks to the two front desk staff, Picky and Edie, who were very kind, enthusiastic, and had a great attitude! There are also plenty of dining options around the hotel!

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is so underrated!! This is a 100/10!!! We really loved this hotel, it is too bad we just stayed here for 2 nights as I really loved the place here. It is just 3mins walk away from Ruins of St. Pauls, and there are a lot of stores there — like stores where you can buy pasalubongs such as the famous peanut cookies, egg tarts and such… There are also luxury stores, uni qlo, pop mart, cosmetics stores, pharmacies, bakeries, restaurants and many more… Basically everything you need is just reachable… We were actually from HongKong prior to staying at Macau for 2 nights and we rode a bus going here to I Fu Hotel and it was so convenient since the hotel is just like 30 steps away from that bus stop! The rooms were veryyyy niceeee too, the room space were really maximize and designed very well! It is very clean too! The receptionist is very accommodating, helpful, knows how to communicate with us! There is free wi-fi, mini bar and complimentary water — where you can ask for one everyday! Our only problem here was that we were shocked of the deposit fee that was asked to us, it was 2000MOP around 16,000 pesos (500MOP per room), and it we were not prepared since we only withdrew 2000MOP for our transpo and such since we’ll use card… But it’s understandable since they really make sure that you don’t violate the rules like no smoking… Also as a family of 10, all our 4 rooms were just nearby which made it more efficient. Overall I would really comeback here!!

Facilities were comprehensive; it was very convenient to charge my phone without needing to bring my own charger. Hygiene was great; the room was clean and tidy with no strange smells. CClaire ArranguezThis was our second time checking in at this hotel. First was in 2018 and it's way cleaner than it is now. However, location's right in Senado Square, close to main attractions in Taipa. The room was also spacious, as well as the beds. Another big con is the floors reeking of cigarette smoke despite the signs of NO SMOKING. They should impose it stricter to avoid affecting non-smoking individuals. The carpets need a good replacement. If this hotel cleans their room better, the standard will so much better as well! A small fridge will also be very helpful. Every hotel room should have them now, I believe. Nonetheless, it's enough for a place to rest.

GGuest UserSatisfied! Although the room was small, it was clean and tidy, and the bathroom had a wet/dry separation. The location is convenient, with easy access to transportation. It's just one bus ride to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, no transfers needed. Major attractions like the Ruins of St. Paul's and Monte Fort are within walking distance. The price is reasonable, making it a good value-for-money option in Macau. The front desk staff were very friendly and even welcomed us back when we checked out, which was a nice touch.
