"The hotel's location is a bit tucked away. It was my first time visiting Macau with my child, and for this price, it was very affordable, so I didn't have high expectations. Macau has a lot of small streets, and even with navigation, I got lost. The road was so narrow that I initially thought I was going the wrong way. I was a bit surprised when I finally found it after circling back. Check-in is at 3 PM, and they were quite strict about not allowing early check-in. We left our luggage and went out to explore. We checked in around 4 PM. The room size was just right, and honestly, I found nothing wrong with it. It even had windows that could open, which isn't usually the case in Hong Kong. The facilities are on the smaller side, but everything you need is there, and it's quite good. We even managed to fit a large suitcase. They charged a 100 deposit, which was returned on check-out day."
The Holiday Hotel is located within easy reach of the Ruins of St. Paul's, listed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Center of Macau in 2005. Downtown Macau is just an 8-minute drive away.

"Great location and a decent room—spacious but with no window. There was a very strong, unpleasant smell (couldn’t figure out the source), which was horrible—we had to spray perfume to sleep. Also found old food in the sink (gross), and the room was a bit noisy. On the plus side, the shower was very good, and the beds were comfortable enough. Fine for a one-night stay, but better cleaning is needed."

"Honestly, for this price and location, there's really nothing to complain about. The front desk offers two complimentary disposable towels and face towels every day. I'd seen a lot of people grumbling about the stairs in the reviews, so I actually counted them – there are 50 steps, not including the sloped section at the beginning. Definitely recommend wearing athletic shoes if you're staying here."

"The hotel offers a warm atmosphere and thoughtful hospitality.
I stayed at this hotel for one night during my trip through Korea, Macau, and Hong Kong.
The room was spacious enough for a solo traveler, and everything—from the room itself to the shower room and toilet—was kept very clean and well maintained.
I believe this hotel is a safe and comfortable choice even for Japanese travelers who may not have much experience traveling abroad.
All of the front desk staff were friendly and attentive. In particular, Ella was extremely helpful. When I checked out, I needed to go to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to travel to Hong Kong, and she kindly explained which bus to take and also helped arrange a taxi(I actually missed a bus)I truly appreciate her support, and our interaction became a memorable part of my stay.
I would be happy to choose this hotel again on my next visit to Macau.
The Towns Well Motel provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Towns Well Motel is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Macau. "The hotel is conveniently located near many popular sightseeing spots, including Senado Square, the Ruins of St. Paul’s, Macau Cathedral, St. Dominic’s Church, and the Museum of Macau, all within easy walking distance. However, it is situated on a sloping uphill street, so taking a bus with luggage can be difficult, and taxis rarely pass by the hotel. You need to walk down the hill to the roadside to catch a cab. The front desk staff were helpful when we asked for assistance in booking a taxi, but getting one was not easy. In the end, we had to carry our luggage down the hill and walk through several streets to catch a cab.
The room is quite spacious, but a bit dated, and the window lock was broken."

"We found this hotel to be very convenient and all basic amenities are complete. It was also very clean and the room did not have any smoke smell. Initially we were a bit wary as we arrived late at 11pm, and there were a few loud guys in the lobby that looked a bit drunk, but that was just a one-time occurrence and the next day was fine. Deposit of 100HKD required upon check-in. The hotel even gave us a small souvenir, how lovely! Staff was very professional & quick to issue our room key. Water heater doesn't feel hot enough at night and may need to wait for some time before the water gets warmer but no issues for us. There is no fridge in the room. Elevator is small but fits most mid size luggage nicely. Saw some reviews commenting the beds were hard but we found the bed to be quite comfortable.
Location was excellent and very near to restaurants, places of interest, minimart, bus stops. We took bus 3,3X from Gongbei customs side and stopped near the hotel. Going to Macau Airport was also super convenient- just at the street across the hotel at Kam Pek Community Center, many busses available to take us to Barra LRT and then to Airport. It was also easy to walk to other hotels which provided free shuttle to Cotai areas.
We had such a wonderful time in Macau and at a hotel that is very value for money! ❤️"
"The location is super convenient, yet it's away from the bustling city center, so it's quieter with fewer people around. It's also very close to the Ruins of St. Paul's. I highly recommend it if you plan on taking the metro to Taipa Island; the A-Ma Temple metro station is just over a kilometer's walk away. Check-out was quick – just drop your key card and go. All toiletries are disposable, which is great for hygiene. The blankets and pillows were also very clean. If you're particular about bedding materials to get a good night's sleep, you might want to consider your options carefully."

"I didn't have high expectations for hotels in Macau to begin with, especially since this one was only a little over 300 a night, and I planned to be out all day. But it turned out to be better than I expected! The room was small, but it had everything I needed, including toiletries, a kettle, and disposable slippers. You'll need an adapter for Hong Kong/Macau plugs here. The bathroom wasn't big but had a good wet/dry separation.
It was very quiet at night. Right outside the hotel entrance is the Star Mouth bus stop, with buses to all the attractions and back to the border gate.
The hotel service was excellent. There's a lobby area with sofas, and we were able to store our luggage at the hotel after checking out at 12 PM the next day.
Downstairs, there's a small residential garden with lots of food options. It's very close to the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library, and you can easily walk to Senado Square and Grand Lisboa."

AAnonymous UserThe room was absolutely great! 👍🏻 Clean and tidy, very close to the bus station, and there's a small park right across the street. The breakfast was also delicious, and the front desk lady was beautiful and very kind. There was no discrimination or bad attitude as some online reviews suggested. They even gave me a free room upgrade! Plus, free luggage storage. Lisa and Lynn, in particular, provided truly excellent service!!! I believe their number was 2601260068 🤔
2203782****Traveling with my husband, we took a taxi from Gongbei to Grand Lisboa, then used navigation to walk straight to the hotel. It was quite convenient. The bus stop right outside the hotel is shown in the pictures, making it very easy to get around. If you're not taking a taxi from Gongbei, you can take one of these buses to the 'Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro / Tai Fung' stop (also shown in the pictures). The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from there. I got a lot of useful information from reviews, so I'm also providing detailed info to help everyone plan their trips more easily.
The hotel is very clean, providing disposable toothbrushes and slippers, but no disposable bath towels – regular towels are available.
Some reviews mentioned poor soundproofing, but I didn't experience that. I occasionally heard a child crying in the morning, but perhaps I just had quiet neighbors.
The hotel is very close to major attractions on the peninsula like the Ruins of St. Paul's and St. Dominic's Church. There's also SaSa and an M8 duty-free shop next to St. Dominic's Church, so you can shop to your heart's content.
LLiulvailvxingMy partner and I stayed at this hotel in Macau last time, and this time I brought my kids back to stay here again. The transportation and location couldn't be more convenient. The famous Hong Kung Night Market is right downstairs, and there are many old local shops in the surrounding alleys – discovering hidden gems every day was a real joy! It's just a few minutes' walk to the Municipal Affairs Bureau, and also very close to the Ruins of St. Paul's, about a 10-minute walk. You can go see St. Paul's at night or in the early morning to avoid the crowds. The hygiene is excellent; although the room is small, it has everything you need! The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and welcoming! The only downside is that you can only book through a third-party agent. I made a mistake with the check-in and check-out dates when booking, and the agent was very unhelpful. They wanted to charge me 300 HKD to cancel the order even within 30 minutes, and I couldn't directly modify the dates either. In the end, Ctrip helped me communicate with the agent. Even though I had to pay the room rate difference, Ctrip's service and efficiency deserve a thumbs-up 👍 This is why I trust Ctrip!
Ffrog_the_nameA great place! Stayed there for 1 night but would gladly stay for longer and would definitely come back if I happen to come to Macao again. Not new, but tidy and comfortable. The room was exactly as on the pictures, my window faced a small playground/park, not a bad view :) You could open the windows. Great location, a walking distance away from almost everywhere in the area.
Check in was smooth, the staff asked for a 100$ deposit which I was ready for and provided 100 HKD I had on me. The deposit was returned upon checking out. After the check out they let me leave my bag for as much as I needed so I went on to explore Macao without the extra weight on me.
The room was spacious, the areas nicely separated. The shower had a glass wall. Shower gel and shampoo provided, but I have a little suspicion it was the same liquid poured into 2 different bottles because it smelled the same lol did not bother me since I only stayed for 1 night. there was also a dental kit, a hairdryer, hangers, tissues, disposable slippers and even a shaving kit. there was no soap but I asked the reception and they kindly provided me with 2 small hotel-like bars.
The air conditioner worked perfectly, the bed linens were clean, the sockets had universal adapters
CChuchushimeijingI chose the Hou Kong Hotel this time and was very satisfied. You can take bus 25 from The Venetian to Shui Kang Mei, and the hotel is right across the road. The soundproofing is excellent; with the windows closed, you barely hear a thing. A special thanks to the two front desk staff, Picky and Edie, who were very kind, enthusiastic, and had a great attitude! There are also plenty of dining options around the hotel!
LLvxinrongwuyebaojie、panrongI was really impressed by the hotel's attention to detail! The soundproofing in the room was excellent; the double-glazed windows completely blocked out outside noise, so even light sleepers can get a good night's rest. There were plenty of charging outlets by the bed, and the lighting was adjustable, making it comfortable for both working and relaxing. The breakfast offered a rich variety, with fresh fruits and freshly made pastries, and the ingredients were clearly fresh and not just an afterthought. The cleaning staff were very meticulous with their daily tidying, even cleaning the small crevices on the desk, which made my stay feel incredibly reassuring.
YyramegevLocation is great if you’re planning to visit popular tourist spots. Cleanliness was well maintained too — the toilet was spotless.
However, the check-in experience was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.
========== (TL;DR) Imagine you had to experience this after a 4 hours flight ==========
The young female receptionist I encountered on arrival handled things very poorly. She kept insisting she couldn’t find my booking, smiling the entire time as if it were a joke. Instead of checking properly herself, she kept handing me random printed bookings, one after another, asking me if any of them were mine. It honestly felt like I was doing her job.
If the names were even slightly similar to mine, I would understand. But she passed me almost every booking she had in her hands, including ones with clearly Japanese or ********* names that were nowhere close to mine. I even asked her, “So does that mean I’m supposed to sleep on the streets tonight?” Yet she still giggled, with zero sense of apology or urgency. It made me wonder if she had ever been trained in basic customer service or professional ethics.
Eventually, she finally handed me the correct booking with my name. But even then, after I confirmed it was mine, she said, “I gave you this earlier and you said it wasn’t yours.”
Like… excuse me? You’ve been passing me completely unrelated bookings the whole time?!
I initially wanted to rate the service 1 star, but I added one more because the hotel cleaner left a good impression, the cleaner auntie was polite and attentive.

Facilities:
The TV in my room was broken, so I’m guessing it was just for decoration. Ventilation also seemed poorly designed. Despite booking a non-smoking room, I was woken up early in the morning by cigarette smoke seeping in from outside my door. Not recommended for light sleepers either, as the soundproofing is weak. I could clearly hear people talking outside, though I’m not sure if they were in the corridor or inside another room.
GGuest UserThe environment is great! Plus, they offer free luggage storage, which saved me a lot of hassle. 😍😍✨
I'm very satisfied! The value for money is excellent too. ✨
The front desk staff even recommend nearby attractions and food, which is truly amazing!
MMhelanieThe experience of staying in the place is great! It is convenient for those who needed a place to stay temporarily. Also to include the place’s destination, wherein it is close to the tourists spots that we wanted to visit and take pictures. Overall, the place is good and convenient for everyone.
GGuest UserWe stayed for two nights. We did know that they only provide disposal towels so we brought our own. What we did not expect was disposable bed sheets (pic). It was very uncomfortable feeling on the skin, made me sweat like crazy probably because of the plastic like fabric. It also ripped during the first night, I expected it to get exchanged when they bring new water (it’s very common to get two water bottles per night) but it didn’t. So we were left with the ripped disposable sheets and the actual blanket came through. That made me think how often that must have happened before: the people start to sweat (macau is warm and kinda humid) into the actual blanket which is probably never cleaned because of the disposable sheets. Next guests the same thing happens, so basically everyone is sleeping under the same blanket. Doesn’t seem very hygienic to me.
Also the bed was very hard (even for Asian standards). My partner and I are both under 25 and had back pain the next morning.
The whole hotel and also the room was very humid, smelled like cigarettes/cigar and you can’t open any windows, not even partially.
Otherwise it does look like the pictures and the rest of the room/bath was clean except for the smell and probably the bed. Also the location is very convenient.
If I wanted to visit macau again I would probably get a hotel in Zhuhai (mainland china) which is less expensive and locals told us there is a 24h border control and the whole process only takes about 10min.
