"This was my first time experiencing a hostel in Japan, and I was incredibly impressed. The staff were friendly, the facilities were comprehensive and clean, and there was an abundant supply of snacks and tea bags. They even have an artificial onsen you can use. There's a large shopping mall right across the street, and it's very close to the bus stop, though the subway is about a ten to fifteen-minute walk away. The only minor drawbacks were the small bedside locker, which wasn't very convenient for storing belongings. Larger luggage had to be left near the entrance or by the bed, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, the duvet was quite thin, and I woke up cold at night. If you need an extra blanket, remember to grab one in advance."

"My stay this time was fantastic! From the moment I checked in, the front desk staff were professional and incredibly friendly. The room decor was modern and clean, with absolutely no strange odors, and the mattress provided just the right amount of support, making for a very comfortable sleep. What surprised me most was the excellent water pressure in the bathroom; the hot water came quickly, which made for a very relaxing shower. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with a convenience store and local eateries just a short walk downstairs."

"Cute place to stay in a spacious mixed dorm. The dorm was well designed with lockers and lots of small shelves next to the bed plus a sink in the room. Bed was a little hard but not terrible. Found the self check-in process very convenient and clearly explained, you have to pay city tax and any extra charges separately before check-out, which you can do online with a qr code or cash if you have the exact amount. Nice to experience a more traditional building in Kyoto. The free rice porridge and teas and coffee was a great bonus. Plenty of convenience shops nearby and right near Kyoto Station. Overall a really relaxing and cosy place to stay!"

"Five-star recommendation, the owner of the homestay is a very kind and friendly couple, suitable for friends who travel alone. Facilities: There are two floors in total, with two bathrooms and two toilets. Most of the time, there is no need to queue. There are also many free snacks to eat. The walls are decorated with banknotes, coins from various countries, and hand-painted by guests. Hygiene: The sanitation is cleaned every morning, and the public areas are very clean. Environment: There is a small Japanese courtyard, which is beautiful on rainy days. The room is very warm. The location is not as convenient as Sijo, but it is okay to have buses around. Service: This is important to say that the boss is really nice. I received a hand-painted card with my name on it the next morning. It was really touching to experience this warmth in a foreign country. Every day when I come back from outside, I will hear ”Welcome back” and see two smiling faces. My roommates have always been Chinese, and it is also a different experience to communicate with different friends every day. I left here today and changed my residence and felt a little uncomfortable. Finally, I wish mama and papa good health and happiness."

"The place is super close to alot of mainstream attractions. Easily walking or one train stop away from Kyoto main station. The host is super knowledgeable on the Kyoto attractions and very helpful. Everyone in the team speaks English extremely well . The place is super clean and very organized. You can see the love given to his place. Dont skip the chat in the main lobby as you can learn alot from the host and other staff. Kudos for their passion. Definitely a place for me to come back."

"If you want to make international friends and are into the backpacker vibe, this is the place for you. Very clean. Polite staff. Able to store luggage before check in. Location is right in the middle of the tourist district. Sometimes the elevator was very slow to pick you up if a busy time. My capsule room had a rip in the screen which let light in. Of course, the nature of this hotel is you are close to your neighbors. While they tried to be quiet, you could hear everything. Request away from the entrance and hallways for most soundproof area. View from common area very picturesque."

"Ryokan hosted by 3 elderly ladies. Peaceful, pleasant stay. The room is traditional tatami and futon - even in early spring, room was warm with heater and clean, futon was thick and comfortable. Room big and well furnished, even has a small table for ocha and okashi. Toilet was my favourite - separate toilet and bathing room, comes with tub to soak in like in the old time jap dramas. Hot water and strong. Location convenient near all impt attractions, but also not too near to be hectic and crowded. Loved the stay!"

"The staff was very friendly. He helped me to pick up my luggage to my room. Only one point is not good enough is that it's a little far from the city centre. Some buses stop the service around 10 something. Even I wait the bus in the city centre. The service has ended already around 10 pm. The transportation is not convenience enough."

"Very nice place with very thoughful owner. There are some unusual things like closing the place from 12 to 17 and extra charges for luggage keeping, but it's ok for travelers, not for remote workers. Owner keeps everything perfectly clean. He cooks amazing sandwiches for breakfast. They are enough for people who don't like to eat much for breakfast. The place located in a living area with same small private houses nearby. No noise after 9pm. It's a renovated Japanese house. Great choise for those who want to live in Japanese house."
