"Having stayed in many capsule hotels, this one offered the best experience by far. It has a large public bath and individual shower rooms, as well as a common lounge. Plus, there's a free lactic acid drink served in the afternoon. Most other hotels require guests to check out by 10 AM, but this one has no such strict rule, allowing residents to return to the hotel for a rest during midday, which makes traveling much more convenient and flexible. There's also a supermarket and duty-free shop nearby, which is very handy. The only downside is that the transportation isn't as convenient as I'd hoped. While it's easy to get there by bus, the bus frequency is quite low, and if you take the subway, it's at least a 15-minute walk. I'd definitely choose this chain of capsule hotels again!"

"Good location near Gion, close to plenty of main shopping districts. Pretty decent transport links to various tourist spots are nearby. Was able to walk to Kyomizu Dera in around 35/40 mins from the hostel. Sadly somebody stole my umbrella."

"Cute place to stay in a spacious mixed dorm. The dorm was well designed with lockers and lots of small shelves next to the bed plus a sink in the room. Bed was a little hard but not terrible. Found the self check-in process very convenient and clearly explained, you have to pay city tax and any extra charges separately before check-out, which you can do online with a qr code or cash if you have the exact amount. Nice to experience a more traditional building in Kyoto. The free rice porridge and teas and coffee was a great bonus. Plenty of convenience shops nearby and right near Kyoto Station. Overall a really relaxing and cosy place to stay!"

"Five-star recommendation, the owner of the homestay is a very kind and friendly couple, suitable for friends who travel alone. Facilities: There are two floors in total, with two bathrooms and two toilets. Most of the time, there is no need to queue. There are also many free snacks to eat. The walls are decorated with banknotes, coins from various countries, and hand-painted by guests. Hygiene: The sanitation is cleaned every morning, and the public areas are very clean. Environment: There is a small Japanese courtyard, which is beautiful on rainy days. The room is very warm. The location is not as convenient as Sijo, but it is okay to have buses around. Service: This is important to say that the boss is really nice. I received a hand-painted card with my name on it the next morning. It was really touching to experience this warmth in a foreign country. Every day when I come back from outside, I will hear ”Welcome back” and see two smiling faces. My roommates have always been Chinese, and it is also a different experience to communicate with different friends every day. I left here today and changed my residence and felt a little uncomfortable. Finally, I wish mama and papa good health and happiness."

"The place was impeccably clean, and the service was outstanding. Despite a mix-up with my reservation, they were incredibly understanding and accommodating, which made my trip to Kyoto truly enjoyable. I would definitely choose to stay here again."

"This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel, and there were a lot of Westerners here. The bathrooms and toilets were very clean and at a comfortable temperature. The only downside is that there are no locks on the doors, so if you have valuables, I recommend keeping them on you. The front desk offers convenient luggage storage. The location is excellent. Downstairs, there's a drugstore and a business supermarket (much cheaper than convenience stores and regular supermarkets), as well as a Starbucks, an onigiri shop, and major department stores and brands on Shijo (Onitsuka Tiger, Daimaru, Uniqlo, Loft, etc.). Kiddyland Kyoto is also downstairs (official store for Japanese IPs like Chiikawa and Sumikko Gurashi). Many items recommended on Xiaohongshu to buy, eat, or play are within a 10-minute walk. Plus, the streets have continuous awnings, so you don't have to worry about carrying an umbrella or getting wet waiting for the bus, as it often rains in Japan. Bus and train stations are nearby, and the Kamo River is about a 10-minute walk away. A city walk there on a nice day is incredibly therapeutic. Have a great trip!"

"Ryokan hosted by 3 elderly ladies. Peaceful, pleasant stay. The room is traditional tatami and futon - even in early spring, room was warm with heater and clean, futon was thick and comfortable. Room big and well furnished, even has a small table for ocha and okashi. Toilet was my favourite - separate toilet and bathing room, comes with tub to soak in like in the old time jap dramas. Hot water and strong. Location convenient near all impt attractions, but also not too near to be hectic and crowded. Loved the stay!"

"The staff was very friendly. He helped me to pick up my luggage to my room. Only one point is not good enough is that it's a little far from the city centre. Some buses stop the service around 10 something. Even I wait the bus in the city centre. The service has ended already around 10 pm. The transportation is not convenience enough."

"THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!! The man, Tommy, who runs it is so sweet, helpful, accommodating. I will miss his sandwiches in the morning- if he offers to make one for you, say Yes. They were sooo good. It was a great stay, I arrived after getting caught in a downpour and felt so bad about getting water everywhere but Tommy was so helpful and gave me a spare pair of shoes to wear since mine were soaked through. He gave restaurant recommendations, and I really appreciated his hospitality. The room was comfortable, it’s a quiet place, lights out was around 21:00 I think. It’s a good location, close to a station. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only thing to be aware of is you cannot drop your luggage off early before the check-in time, and you have to be out of the hostel during the day from like 12-5 or something like that."
