"New hotel, located on a quiet street. You can walk to the sights enjoying the spirit of old Kyoto. The room has everything you need: a washing machine and a system for drying clothes in the shower, a projector. There is also a kitchen where you can cook. "The soundproofing is poor. While the hotel's rules state quiet at night, I was still seeing people washing up in the hallway at one or two in the morning during my stay. The multi-person rooms on the first floor seem to have better soundproofing, so consider booking for a larger group. However, for the price, it's a great place to stay during your trip, and the mattress and quilt are quite comfortable. The nearby Hakusanyu bathhouse is clean and very comfortable. There are vending machines right outside the hotel, and a convenience store is a five-minute walk away."

"Located in the historical district, you can visit the ancient city of Kyoto at night, very feeling. The hotel building itself has a history of one or two hundred years, and it can be regarded as a small attraction. It is great to live in it and experience Kyoto in depth. The room has a private bathroom and is very clean, the mattress and quilt are also very comfortable, the proprietress and the hotel staff are very enthusiastic. Although I stayed for 1 night, I was still impressed."

"The room is a duplex, with two floors. The large bathtub with circulating water is downstairs for bathing, and the upstairs is for sleeping. On the first day, we arrived late and couldn't rent a kimono, so the store owner gave us yukatas, which are almost the same as kimonos. At least we got the experience. It rained that night, and we ate and drank in the house, listening to the sound of rain in the yard. It was particularly healing. The breakfast the next morning was particularly rich and I highly recommend everyone to experience it. It's authentic Japanese cuisine, the tamagoyaki is especially delicious, and there's also grilled salmon and soup. In short, it's very rich. I feel that the store owner really puts a lot of effort into it. What I care about most when I bring my children is cleanliness and hygiene, a good environment, and excellent service. I'm not very good at English or Japanese, but the store owner was very patient in answering my questions. I will definitely stay here again next time I go to Japan."

"A great Japanese-style tatami hotel, a special surprise is that the room area is so large that it is 40 square meters! ! ! The price-performance ratio is very high, and there is a separate bathroom. If you have lived in Tokyo or Osaka, you will feel a lot of relief at once. The waiters are very enthusiastic and will come to make your bed every night, especially there is an old man on the first floor. It is very enthusiastic. From the beginning of check-in, he will answer any questions you have in detail. He recommends all kinds of delicious and fun. The hotel breakfast has Western and Japanese styles, which are all very good. Japanese styles need to be reserved in advance. The only drawback of the hotel is from the subway. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the station. It is basically located in the center of a block, but the streets and alleys we walk over can really let us experience the local folk customs, especially the many characteristic small shops and izakayas on the roads, waiting for you I found that it will bring you a surprise, and there is also the Kam Market which is only 5 minutes away, which is very worth visiting. Special mention is that there is a Issey Miyake specialty store on the left for a minute after going out, but unfortunately we only found out the morning when we left that they have not yet gone to work~~~~~"

"The location is very good, in the middle of the four and five subway stations, not far from the two stations. The room layout is good, the reception is very polite, there is komeda coffee on the first floor! Every day, there is cleaning, and there is a red leaf intelligence message next to the elevator on the first floor. The only downside is that the quilt does not look like it is changed every day, and there is only one sheet between people, which is not very convenient."

GGuest UserAlthough it’s a bit far to the Kyoto train station, if you know how to take the bus, there are 3 bus stops + 1 Shijouoomiya train station which are really closed to this hotel (only 6 to 10 mins walk), which can lead you to anywhere of the tourist spots !! 👍🏻 hotel located in a quiet street which gives you a well sleep at night. 😴The hostel of this hotel are helpful, they helped us to return our kimono via the local post since we are rush in time to travel around. 📤 They replied the email daily and fast, at the first day we couldn’t find their reception to check in (Just found out it’s a self check system that they had already sent you a password to your email earlier). 📧 They helped us to take care of our luggage after we check out our room, as we were going to nearby spots after the living. All the facilities and equipment are clean, you can tell they had mopped the floor, clean anywhere of the kitchen, restroom and sleeping room all the way around and leaving with no dust. 🪣👍🏻 my conclusion is, I will definitely come back to book their hotels, their signature brand “Risshisha”, next time when I come back to travel again. Once again, thank you for your 5 stars services !! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Amazing
AAliya_11The location is great—you can walk to the Gion in 20-30 minutes, and the train station is easily accessible the other way. The host and his mother are wonderful, very helpful and friendly. There's a kitchen where you can make tea, coffee, or even cook anything—the tea and coffee are delicious. The house is clean, and it's pleasant and peaceful. Carrying a suitcase up the stairs can be a bit of a hassle, but these are minor inconveniences compared to the service, peace, and comfort provided in this house.

JJizidelihuoFacilities: If I remember correctly, it is newly opened, so it is very new and fully equipped (but one thing to note is that the toothbrush and toothcup are charged, but you can bring your own), there are washing machines, separate shower cubicles (with 24-hour hot water), washing areas, toilet areas, and lounges
Sanitation: Very clean, no odor in the whole space
Environment: The hotel is very beautiful and the layout is very reasonable; the hotel is in a good location, with shopping malls and pedestrian streets outside, and it is very convenient to eat
Service: Very good, if he speaks something you don't understand, he will take the initiative to open the software to translate for you; you can store your luggage before check-in, and after check-out, you can store it until 4 pm on the same day.
This is my first time staying in a capsule, I am really satisfied with this one, but unfortunately I only stayed in Kyoto for one day😭 I would be happy to stay again if I come again next time! ☺

KKyoto GodFUGA STAY, true to the meaning of its name “fuga” (elegance and serenity), is a refined and peaceful hideaway tucked within the heart of Kyoto.
I personally love hotels that are hidden away from the main road yet still extremely convenient—just a 3 to 5-minute walk from Omiya Subway Station and numerous Kyoto city bus stops.
If you’re into cycling or using e-scooters, there’s a Luup rental station right in front of the hotel.
The room is spacious and very comfortable for a solo traveler. It comes with two double beds that you can easily move together to form a super king-size bed. The bathroom is also large, with no sense of tightness.
The front desk staff speaks Japanese and Chinese, so communication is smooth and easy.
Honestly, I’m hesitant to praise FUGA too much—if too many people discover it, the price might go up!
P.S. Just around the corner is Tendō Shrine, only a 2-minute walk away. It felt like a beautiful encounter by fate.
FUGA STAY
FUGA STAY,

NNanjiazhoubuxiayuThe hotel was booked on the way from Osaka. I didn't expect the environment to be much better than expected. The staff was very friendly (and could speak Chinese!) and gave me a map of the surrounding restaurants and a tourist map of Arashiyama. And the luggage can be stored for free for 24 hours after check-out, which was really touching😭
It takes three minutes to get to the subway station, and it is also very close to Togetsukyo Bridge. It takes about five minutes to walk to the scenic area. There is also a Yusai Pavilion similar to Rurikoin. It will be more beautiful when the maple leaves are in season.
There are free coffee machines and microwaves in the public space of the hotel. You can sit and read comic books and TV. In addition, Halloween decorations have also appeared. There will be piano music in the public space. It is very comfortable to sit and drink tea and coffee.
Although I only stayed in three hotels during this trip to Kansai, this hotel is the most satisfactory one. I feel very warm when traveling alone. If I come to Arashiyama again, I will choose Mulan Hotel!

GGuest UserVery nice place with very thoughful owner.
There are some unusual things like closing the place from 12 to 17 and extra charges for luggage keeping, but it's ok for travelers, not for remote workers.
Owner keeps everything perfectly clean. He cooks amazing sandwiches for breakfast. They are enough for people who don't like to eat much for breakfast.
The place located in a living area with same small private houses nearby. No noise after 9pm. It's a renovated Japanese house. Great choise for those who want to live in Japanese house.

DDarrylAs a solo traveler, I highly recommend this hostel for its exceptional quality and value. I stayed in a private room for just one night, but the experience was memorable. The location is convenient, with easy access to transportation and nearby attractions, although it’s not the most centrally located spot in Kyoto. What truly stood out was the service—staff members were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and eager to help with any needs or questions. The amenities were also top-notch, including clean and comfortable facilities, well-maintained common areas, and thoughtful extras that made my stay even more enjoyable. If I ever return to Kyoto, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this hostel again. It’s a perfect option for solo travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

VVeldaThis time I chose an apartment-style hotel, which is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Marutamachi Station on the Karasuma Line and a 2-3-minute walk from the Kinkakuji/Kiyomizu-dera bus stop. It is very convenient to reach various attractions. There are FamilyMart, 7-11, McDonald's, and supermarkets nearby. The room is spacious 👍, with kitchen utensils, oven, microwave, washer and dryer, electronic scale...all available. There is a large table in the room, which is a place where our family of five can go home every day to have late night snacks without being crowded. The teenagers enjoyed their stay very much and will choose this place again next time they visit Kyoto👍.

GGuest UserIt's similar to a Japanese economy hotel. It's quite small. It's very close to JR Nijo Station, and you can see it when you get out of the station. It is also very close to the subway station. There is a bakery, restaurant, and convenience store at the door, which is super convenient. This station is also beautiful, with cherry trees at the entrance of the station. Close to Nijo Castle, about 10 minutes on foot to Nijo Castle.

GGuest UserThe place has an excelente location, easy to get there. The room was cleaned and organized. However, there is no person at the front desk to ask questions or ask for help. The code for entering to the room was sent by SMS, but since we were traveling the service for SMS of our phone company does not work outside our country, so we did not receive the message since we were traveling. They do not have an e-mail address, so the check in instructions could not be send there. When we arrived to the place was late and we found the front desk empty even though we still arrived in the front desk service hours. We had a hard time contacting the hotel but luckily could get some help in calling the administration to get our room number and the code.
