"This hostel is located next to a local bus stop to various beaches. There is a convenience store in front. The room is not very spacious and is rather damp due to lack of light and ventilation. The bathroom is not very good. There is a kitchen, refillable drinking water, and no parking. I couldn't sleep because I could hear people walking in and out of the room all the time."

"Amazing stay at a brand-new hostel! Everything was perfect! The hostel is brand new with friendly staff. The beds are cozy with big soft blankets, and the new towels are amazing. There are two A/Cs per room, keeping the temperature very comfortable. I also loved the convenient lockers for luggage and shoes. Great location with many cafes and massage shops nearby. Deposit 500 bat upon arrival. There’s a nice chill-out area with a stunning view of the Big Buddha. They also have a modern laundry, a small cafe, and motobike rentals on-site. The only minor thing is the lack of a water heater, but in the heat, the cool water was actually very refreshing. Highly recommended!"

"This was my return visit to this hostel, and I must say I was dissppointed. Last time, on another platform, I gave it an 8/10 rating, but now I think I was too generous. Besides smiling, but not good English-speaking staff (and smile doesnt always solve problems like an informed action), and affordable price, it was hard to find all those benefits I thought this hostel had. Hot water dispenser wasnt working, but even cold drinking water wasnt accessible - i had to ask the staff 3 times for somebody to refill the machine. But the next morning empty again - there should be a system in place and not counting on guests for chasing down staff to fix it whenever the water tank is empty. I say chasing as there is rarely someone at the reception. They might be cleaning the rooms (good luck in finding them), but frankly rooms werent that clean. Floors were praying for mopping, dust in the bathroom fan wanted to leave too... there was even a clearly visible stain on my bed sheet upon checking in, but the staff replaced the sheet immediately (they could have spotted it when they were making the bed the first time maybe? Locker was not working, so the member of the staff had to use knife to make it work. The other storage place was also full of some crumble, i assume it is not on the cleaning list too often. AC in the room didnt seem to work properly. There was always a feeling of the temperature being too cold, whether the tehermostat was fixed at 18 or 25 degrees Celsius, you were freezing even undet the blanket. Privacy curtains are still transparent (?), and the doors of the room close loudly. Shower was more of a drizzle - the water pressure did not meet basic requirements. In the first shower, it wasnt even warm. I entered the second one, where the heater was working better, but you could not shower with water practically just dripping on you. All in all, there are other similarly priced hostels in Phuket that offer a better service."

"Abgewohnt und teilweise kaputt. Hatte den Türgriff des Badezimmers mach dem schließen in der Hand. Das Bad steht nach dem duschen Stunden unter Wasser, sodass man Badeschuhe anziehen muss um zur Toilette zu gehen. Das Gebäude ist dringend renovierungsbedürftig. 6 Stockwerke und kein Aufzug. Es hat mir auch keiner bein hochtragen des Gepäcks Hilfe angeboten. Das einzig gute war der Ausblick über die Stadt. Ich würde nicht wieder herkommen und bin froh nur 1 Nacht gebucht zu haben. Ich habe ca 46€ bezahlt für die Nacht. Ich würde empfehlen für dieses Hotelzimmer nicht mehr als 15€ auszugeben."

"Everything in the room was so well. They cleaned regularly. Air condition works well, and bed is comfortable. Only little flaw is it is little far from everything, maybe it is just Phuket."

"All basic amenities provided (towel, soap, drinking water, coffee, kettle). Quiet room on the 6th floor with elevator. The room is clean, fresh linen. But no wifi. The staff was friendly. The area is in old Phuket town, and nearest convenience shop is a bit of a walk. Walking to the sunday market is around 20 minutes away."

"Even if it ended with a nice gesture, the receptionist handing me a keychain gift (not sure if they do that with all guests), with a written request to leave 10/10 review, sadly I couldn't ignore the shortcomings of this hostel that seemed like just a downgraded version of Marco Polo Poshtel (not sure which one came first, but from breakfast to ”funny” wall messages, there was a similar ”creative” signature). While I was initially attracted by reviews mentioning hostel's cleanliness, I couldn't say I shared the same opinion. Certain public areas were quite messy. The staircase to the first floor (where shoes are forbidden) didnt seem to be cleaned for some time. In the showers (which had a good water pressure), there was mold. None of the three handsoap dispensers in the only bathroom had soap in them. It just felt the staff doesnt have time or organizational skills to maintain everything in working order. But I was mostly surprised by finding a not clean (i dont want to call it ”used”) bed cover in my bed. It had some fresh stains, hair and crumbles (well, not just on bed cover), and seemed just to be folded after the guest before me (even the folding seemed messed up, so i really thought maybe the bed was forgotten). When I asked the housekeeping to change it, they initially approved. The younger housekeeper started changing everything, sheet included (which i believe is a good way to do it, when it is not certain if the bed was completely changed), but when the older one returned, she made her put the sheet back (the sheet that was thrown on the floor in the meantime), laughing all along. No, that wasnt really funny. Then instead of letting the young housekeeper put on the new bed cover she brought along, i noticed that the older one brought something that seemed to be the same old bed cover that i complained about (the duvet was already inside). When i asked if that is a new thing, she was convincing me it was. Already at that moment, i felt ridiculed. But i said, ”okay, if you say so.” After all was done, i came back to my bed, unfolded the bed cover and confirmed my doubt - all this performance of changing the bed, without them changing anything! The only difference was that the bedsheet was also on the floor in the meantime. This got me really frustrated, mostly because they lied to my face (what for?), and mostly because they invested energy in ”changing” everything while actually just stripping everything off and returning it (why? It takes the same amount of energy to do it for real). Feeling like an *****, i asked what seemed to be the problem? Dont they have clean bedding, or what? But they had. I asked them to give it to me then, and i would happily prepare the bed myself. Which they accepted. Lol. I dont know, with that poor breakfast, the visual mess, unpleasant ”toilet” scent at hostel entrance, and generally low level of cleanliness (you can see how yellow the pillow is once you remove the pillow case yourself), it felt that other reviews mentioning spotless hygiene were misleading. Or were my standards too high? In any case, i stayed in a dozen of Phuket hostels during my month here, but none of them tried to insult my intelligence. There are better places, and no, Dorm Hostel sadly doesnt deserve 10/10, to quote the request they tell everyone at check-out. I also tried to leave them space for hostel improvement, so instead of lowest marks, i left average ones, even if the experience was truly below average. P.S. When a guest asks whether a ferry with a pick-up operates everywhere in Phuket, a genuinely helpful answer would be ”yes”. And not ”no, it's only our hostel's pickup”. I understand everyone just tries to earn money, but it shouldn't be done by misleading guests who just trustfully ask for information."

"clean, air con .cool. quiet. and good coffee machine ais cream, microwave , ice dispenser. Recommend to rend a bike to explore old town if you do not like to walk for about 10mins. I would come back to stay with the big room and price. Bob USA"
