"Title: Squeaky Clean and Good Storage, But Be Aware of Strict Cashless Fees and Missing Essentials Review: I recently stayed at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kobe Sannomiya. While the hardware of the hotel is good, certain policies and service gaps significantly impacted the comfort of my stay. On the positive side, the hygiene standards here are excellent. The room was spotless and very modern, which is always the most critical factor for me when traveling. I also want to express my appreciation for the luggage keeping arrangement. Being able to store my bags securely and easily both before check-in and after check-out was a huge help, allowing me to explore Kobe freely without the burden of heavy luggage. However, international travelers need to be aware of a major caveat: this is a strictly ”cashless” hotel. I attempted to pay with cash to avoid bank fees, but was refused. I was forced to use my VISA card, which meant I was hit with foreign transaction and exchange fees that amounted to roughly an extra 5% cost on my trip. I found this policy very rigid and frustrating for guests who prefer using cash. Furthermore, the in-room amenities and service were disappointing. Guests should know that the rooms are completely bare of essentials—there are no razors, toothbrushes, or toothpaste provided in the room. Realizing this late at night caused unnecessary trouble. Additionally, the housekeeping service lacked attention to detail; even though my Yukata (sleepwear) was clearly used and left out to be changed, the staff did not replace it with a fresh one. Overall, Sotetsu Fresa Inn offers a very clean environment, but the lack of basic in-room amenities and the strict payment policy make it difficult for me to fully recommend it to travelers trying to manage their budget and convenience."

It offers free WiFi and a 24-hour front desk, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. From our window, we even saw fireworks over the sea."

"I saw a blogger recommend this hotel online, but I was disappointed after checking in. Although it's new and well-decorated and clean, it has some significant flaws. The train noise was extremely disturbing, stopping at 11:50 PM and starting again at 6:00 AM, severely disrupting my sleep. There were also frequent sirens of police cars. While the hotel wasn't directly responsible for this, they didn't install double-glazed windows. The tall, thin front desk clerk spoke fluent English, but her attitude was a bit arrogant. After a few questions, she became noticeably impatient, which detracted from my score. The hotel's location is inconvenient, with only one convenience store nearby and few restaurants. More dining options require a 10-minute walk across the overpass to Harborland. The hotel's own restaurant is also closed in the evenings. This hotel is near the Anpanman Museum and is often visited by families with children. During breakfast, several groups of children were constantly making noise, which was very disturbing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it. I wouldn't stay again if I had other options."

"The hotel was actually in the opposite side of the JR station and was difficult to locate using Google map. I walked to the Roynet premier hotel and was given a map to walk back to this hotel. It was not the usual standard of the Roynet group, but breakfast was good."

"Inconvenience: No bottled water so had to bring own flask for refill. No Chinese channel so had to use YouTube with Japanese remote control. No fridge so hard to buy sushi n beer etc. Constructions work not noisy with window closed but had to detour to some places. Twisting type taps of cold n hot abit hard to adjust. Limited cleaning of room. Plus: English speaking staff. Spacious room with comfy mattress. Nice big table with space saving storage cabinets. Near bus terminal to Awaji island, Arima Onsen n Premium outlet. Closed to many fast food n restaurant. Like the coloured bath salt n disposable shaver. Overall a nice cosy DIY sort of stay. I would patronise again."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right within the Motomachi shopping street, yet surprisingly quiet. Next door there's a lovely coffee shop with great coffee and delicious bread. Several famous old coffee shops like Nishimura, Kohshodo, Taco, the bakery Riki, and a drugstore are all within a 1-2 minute walk. Daimaru department store is conveniently located at the entrance of the shopping street. It's about a 3-minute walk to JR Motomachi Station, and you can reach Osaka Umeda in about 30 minutes. Sannomiya, Kobe, is roughly a 10-15 minute walk away. This hotel offers easy access to everything. What's particularly impressive is that the hotel cleans the rooms daily, which is not always common in Japan. Even if you don't require a full cleaning, they'll hang fresh toiletries and towels on your door. Although the room isn't huge, it's perfectly fine for a solo traveler. It's clean, well-maintained, and offers incredible value for money, truly exceeding my expectations and making my trip more enjoyable. The front desk also has staff who speak Chinese, and everyone is incredibly patient and always smiling. The service is truly top-notch."

"Our twin room was impressively spacious, offering significantly more comfort and room than similarly priced hotels in Kyoto and Osaka. We appreciated the convenience of not needing a key card for elevator access or to activate the room's electricity. We had turned off the AC before leaving, but after cleaning, the staff kindly turned it back on, ensuring we returned to a delightfully cool room. The bathroom featured excellent wet/dry separation, and the bright lighting was perfect for the vanity mirror. The only minor drawback was the somewhat slow WiFi, but it was still acceptable. This 3-star hotel truly provides fantastic value for money! Additionally, the front desk staff spoke very fluent English."
