"I had a great stay at this hotel, especially as a manga fan. The room was clean, and I received fresh towels every day. Amenities such as toiletries could be picked up from the reception area, which was very convenient. The hotel also provides complimentary drinks 24/7, including water, coffee, and tea. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel with buses that go straight to Kyoto Station, and the nearest subway station is about a 10-minute walk away. The famous Nishiki Market is around a 20-25 minute walk from the hotel, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is also a convenience store right next to the hotel and a supermarket within a short walking distance, making it very easy to grab snacks, drinks, or anything else you might need. Popular attractions such as Nijō Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace are also within walking distance. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto."

"Facilities: The microwave was a highlight, making it easy to heat up meals. Hygiene: I chose this hotel based on a recommendation from Xiaohongshu. My most basic requirement for a hotel is cleanliness. I was really angry to see stains directly on the bedding. As for other details, I couldn't bear to look closely. The water stains on the sink weren't even wiped clean, to the point where I didn't dare to use their bath towels. Environment: The hotel lobby environment is very good, and there's a supermarket nearby, which is great. However, it's quite far if you want to take the subway, especially with luggage."

With a stay at unito hotel residence Kyoto Station North in Kyoto (Shimogyo Ward), you'll be steps from Kawaramachi Street and 12 minutes by foot from Kyoto Tower. This hotel is 1.2 mi (2 km) from Kiyomizu Temple and 2.3 mi (3.7 km) from Fushimi Inari Shrine. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and laundry facilities. Make yourself at home in one of the 28 guestrooms. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Bathrooms have shower/tub combinations and hair dryers.

"The room felt a little small, but the bed was perfectly sized, and the room was very clean. For this price for two people, I think it's the best value hotel in the Kawaramachi-Gojo area. When I went to bed, I was thirsty, but there were no vending machines between the front desk and the elevator, so I endured it. However, when I checked out, I noticed there was a self-service kitchen with a cold water dispenser on the basement floor. For someone like me who isn't very tech-savvy, it would have been even better if there was information about this in the room."

Hotel near Kawaramachi,Kyoto
With a stay at Washington R&B Hotel Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi, you'll be centrally located in Kyoto, a short 8-minute walk from Nishiki Market and 12 minutes by foot from Yasaka Shrine. Make use of convenient amenities such as complimentary wireless internet access, concierge services, and a vending machine. Continental breakfasts are available daily from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM for a fee. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations feature deep soaking bathtubs and complimentary toiletries. Conveniences include phones and desks, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"This hotel is a 5-minute walk from Shijo Kawaramachi Station. Kyoto isn't very big, and in this weather, you can walk to Kiyomizu-dera, the Gion area, stroll along the river, and even reach the **** area all on foot. On the first day, I took public transport everywhere, only to realize later how close everything actually was. The room is small but clean. It's right on a main road, so there's some motorcycle noise, but it didn't bother my sleep much. For consecutive stays, you can put a sticker on your door if you don't want housekeeping; just leave your trash and old towels outside, and fresh ones will be hung on your door. Breakfast includes four types of bread, onsen tamago (hot spring egg), coffee, yogurt, milk, and mashed potatoes for 40 yuan, which I found very satisfying. Consumables are available for self-service by the elevator. On check-in and check-out days, you can use your Suica card to lock your luggage, which is right in front of the front desk. There are many restaurants in the alley between the hotel and the Kamo River worth trying."

"The staff were very welcoming every time I entered the hotel or came down to the lobby, which made the stay feel warm and comfortable. The hotel is very conveniently located between two train stations, making it easy to travel around the area. There is also a convenience store right opposite the hotel, and a McDonald’s just around the corner, which adds to the overall convenience. Breakfast is served at the café downstairs, which appears to be a popular local spot as it is always filled with diners. Although the selection is not very wide, the food is quite delicious and satisfying. The room itself is clean and well-maintained, although on the smaller side. Overall, a simple but very convenient and pleasant stay with friendly service and a great location."

Hotel Elite Kyoto Station is a modern and comfortable hotel that opened in March 2021. Conveniently located within walking distance of Kyoto Station, it is an ideal choice for both sightseeing and business travelers. All rooms are non-smoking, equipped with free Wi-Fi, and feature TVs with access to YouTube and other streaming services. In the lobby, guests can enjoy complimentary coffee and other beverages available 24 hours a day.

"Choosing this hotel was definitely the right decision. The overall environment is elegant and quiet, perfect for a restful stay away from the hustle and bustle. The room has excellent natural light and good ventilation, with a logical layout that feels spacious. The housekeeping is meticulous; even the corners are dust-free. The bathroom has a convenient wet/dry separation, making it very comfortable to use. The staff were polite and professional throughout my stay, and responded quickly to any requests. The facilities are comprehensive, with stable hot water and internet. The surrounding area also has great amenities, so dining and shopping are no problem. I felt completely relaxed and comfortable during my stay. It's suitable for both business trips and short getaways. My experience was perfect, and it's definitely worth coming back to!"

"The hotel offers complimentary skincare products on the first floor. However, the room facilities are a bit old, and not being able to open the window made it a bit stuffy. Breakfast was good, and the view from the first floor is also quite nice. They provide free umbrellas, which is convenient when it rains. For shopping, there's Shinfukan across the street, but other places require a 20-minute walk or a subway ride. From Tokyo Station, take the Marunouchi Line to Kokkai-gijidomae Station, and Exit 3-2 has a direct elevator, which is great if you have large luggage. Overall, it's good value for money."

"The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a two-minute walk from Kyoto Station, making it extremely convenient for both transportation and exploring the city. Being so close to one of Kyoto’s main hubs means you have immediate access to trains, buses, and a wide range of shops and restaurants. Right at the entrance of the property, there is a 7-Eleven, which adds a great level of convenience. Whether you need a quick snack, drinks, or travel essentials, everything is easily accessible at any time of day. Additionally, Kyoto Station itself features a large shopping complex with countless dining options, retail stores, and services, so you are truly in the center of everything. The room size is on the smaller side, but this is typical for Kyoto and was expected. Despite the limited space, the room is functional and suitable for a short stay. The hotel operates with a modern, efficient system, offering automated check-in and check-out machines, which makes the process quick and hassle-free. Amenities are not placed inside the room; instead, guests can pick up what they need from the front desk. This approach is understandable and aligns well with environmentally friendly practices. Breakfast is a highlight of the stay. The quality of the food is very good, and the staff in the breakfast area are particularly warm, attentive, and welcoming, which adds a pleasant start to the day. However, there are a couple of drawbacks worth noting. The area above the bedboard was noticeably dusty, which detracts slightly from the overall cleanliness. In addition, the curtains do not fully block out the sunlight, resulting in the room becoming quite bright early in the morning. I would recommend that the hotel consider providing eye masks for guests, or alternatively, travelers should bring their own. It is also worth noting that eye masks are not available at the nearby 7-Eleven, and during my two-night stay, the strong morning sunlight consistently woke me up earlier than expected."

GGuest UserThis place is AMAZING for its price point. Everything is sparkling clean and quite new. The location is amazing as it is just next to the metro station. It is also quite close to the bus station and that's important as buses are way more convenient than trains in Kyoto. For food, there are cheap franchised restaurants around and 7-eleven right opposite. In terms of service, the staff there are friendly, polite, and accommodating. The shared bathrooms and the bedrooms are clean. There is nothing more I could ask for! AMAZING STAY.

JJulianto Chuen+ this hotel 01 station only from Kyoto Station, using metro and stop at Koji Station , and then walking about 15minutes to the hotel + The easy way to reach this hotel is using bus, and stop at Kujo Omiya. Many bus have direct route to Gion, and other tourist spot (about 30 minutes riding). Please take a notes, this hotel is not in tourist area, very quiet and you will meet with many local people here. + this hotel have a concierge and standby staff, so you can keep the luggage before checkin. + this hotel is very new, i think maybe open early 2026, when we proceed for the check in, the hotel staff gave us some welcoming gift, and we can saw many flowers buoquet there. And the good news, yes they have an elevator, so no issue for thise who bring big luggage + Room very clean and tidy. We book for 03 persons, and they prepare room with 04 twin beds (separate 02 rooms). Inside room have bathtub, laundry, kitchen + equipment, and 01 dining table. + I think maybe this is the best hotel we stay at Japan. Very modern, all brand new, many USB port inside the room, wifi connection is strong, really quiet and really convenient for stay + around 05 minutes walking, you will find japanese ramen noodle resto, and also local mini market. - a little bit troublesome for communicate with the hotel staff, because when we want to make sure about Yamato Delivery Service to this hotel, it was so hard to reach to hotel staff throung phone / email. When we asking to the hotel staff about this, they said they not receiving any chat from the trip.com / ******* platform. I dont know where is the issue, maybe because this hotel very new or they are not ready yet for the online communication Please take a notes that you have to pay kyoto city tax. We stay for 02 night, and we pay JPY 1.600 total Overall it was a nice stay, and definitely really recomend this hotel for stay at Kyoto.

GGuest UserAlthough it was short, I loved my stay here. Had great quality of sleep. Good base for Kyoto, near enough to key locations, but expect a lot of walking unless you use the bus. Nearest station is Kyoto Kawaramachi which is great for day drips just outside central Kyoto and if you are coming from Osaka or Kansai airport - see my tips below. Pros: great bathroom and toiletries, good water pressure and temperature, smart toilet, TV with streaming services, fridge, desk/stool, coat hooks (handy for winter time), semi-full length mirror, luggage rack, various lights to adjust to your preference, very clean, super comfortable firm mattress and pillows, good soundproofing for light sleepers, great air conditioning (room warms up pretty quickly in the winter), you can also open the windows which is nice, felt very safe as a solo female, can ask for more water bottles in reception, lift was never crowded, outlets next to bed, has luggage storage if you need, near the river and traditional streets for scenic strolls, close to bus stop, family mart otw from station for late night snacks. Cons: can hear police cars or cars with loud engines at night sometimes but not frequent, walking from the station with a suitcase was a bit longer than expected, my double room was a bit cramped for opening suitcase (could not open the front or bathroom doors fully to avoid hitting my suitcase) and I am one person (two suitcases would fit but you wouldn't be able to walk around the bed properly). Tips: If you are coming from Kansai airport (KIX), I recommend you take the airport limousine to Namba (bought a return ticket since it is cheaper). It drops you outside JR Namba station, you can go inside to get to the metro station, follow signs for the red Midosuji Line. Board the train to Umeda. Stay inside the station and follow signs for Osaka-Umeda or the brown Hankyu-Kyoto line. This line goes directly to Kyoto Kawaramachi station. When stations, always look for the lift signs if you have luggages. I think I took the lift closest to Exit 4, and it brings you up to a department store. You kinda have to walk through and get out. If you walk out the front entrance, there are a few steps, but if you go to the side doors, it has a slope to avoid carrying suitcases. It's a straight walk from the station. Unless you are doing day trips, Kyoto city buses are a lot better mode of transport in my opinion.

GGuest UserThis hotel offers incredible value for money! It's super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto JR Station. The streets on both sides of the hotel are lined with small restaurants and pubs, and there's a medium-sized drug store (Don Quijote) at the corner. The room was clean and tidy, and we could see Kyoto Tower right from our window. I especially recommend the hotel's shampoo – it's really good! 😊 The room was spacious enough for two adults and two 28-inch suitcases, with plenty of room to spare. There are USB charging ports by the bed. There's no kettle in the room, so you'll need to bring your own and an adapter. The breakfast on the first floor is a set meal, costing around 60 RMB per person. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserI recently stayed at this hotel and overall, I would definitely rate it as a solid 4-star experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for my stay. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and I had no trouble getting a good night’s sleep. The décor was modern and tasteful, and all the basic amenities were provided, including toiletries, a coffee machine, and reliable Wi-Fi. Housekeeping did a great job each day, keeping everything tidy and replenished. One of the highlights of the hotel was its facilities. The common areas were clean and nicely designed, and there was a relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. The breakfast was also quite good, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. While it wasn’t the most luxurious breakfast I’ve ever had, it was definitely above average and satisfying. The location of the hotel was another strong point. It was conveniently situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation. This made getting around very simple and added a lot of value to the overall experience. That said, there were a few minor areas that could be improved. At times, service could be slightly slow during busy hours, and a few small details in the room showed slight wear. However, these issues were not major and did not significantly affect my stay. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and provides a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It may not be perfect, but it certainly meets the expectations of a 4-star hotel. I would happily recommend it to others and would consider staying here again in the future

AApple酱Pure Japanese homestay, Japanese kimono grandma service is very good and very standard, we live on the second floor, the grandmother is struggling to send our big boxes, we are not willing to move, but they just do not let (mainly look at their age Big, moving very tired, we are very unwilling to go). In the morning and evening, the home-cooked food is delivered to the room. It is arranged together, and it is taken care of again. At night, it is time to go to the soup. When the water is gone, the water has been put away, and the tatami room has been laid. Called early on time the next day, delivered a fine breakfast on time, went out to send shoes and umbrellas, etc. In short, the service was very thoughtful and very good experience. The B&B is very close to the Huajian Trail, and the tram is also very convenient.

GGuest UserNice small hotel, they give you umbrella and asked you to keep in your room throughout your stay and only give them back before check out. We came in September so its either scorching hot or raining. It wasn't raining when we were there but hotttt. So the umbrellas are our savior. They have luggage storage, so we left our luggage on our arrival (check in at 3 or 4pm) so we roamed around and came back later at night. At 12MN they will close the door and you need to use the password (they'll let you know beforehand obviously). We came back around 10 or 11pm and all our lugagges were already in our designated room, so convenient. The room is not so small neither very spacious. Just nice for us both, we took turn to open our lugagge. And we didn't shop much in Kyoto. Our iron unfortunately broke when we arrived in Japan. So day 1 in Kyoto we didn't managed to get the iron since another guest already using it (we checked in at night) but the next day the staff kindly went to the other guest room and take iron after they finished using it and sent to our room. We were so grateful. We went to the Kyoto Kawaramachi Station by cab. Since we didn't download the GOtaxi App nor Didi before arriving in Japan, we cannot register the app since they required phone number to send confirmation (we used esim) so we just waived the cab by the road and took about 5-10min to get one. We planned to transport our luggage to Osaka on the same day from Kyoto but we missed the time. You need to send the luggages to the designated (not all Yamato centers offer same day delivery service) Yamato Transport Service Center before 10am for the same day delivery service. We arrived around 10:40am so we got into another cab to the station and bring all of our lugagges with us on the Shinkasen.

DDr.p3pp3rI stayed here in a double room and overall had a pretty good experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and both the air conditioning and heater worked very well. One thing that really stood out was the bathroom — the bathtub was much larger than what you usually get in Japan. I’m a tall person, and I could actually sit down and lie back comfortably, which is rare. Most hotel baths feel very small, but this one felt closer to around 1.4m in length, which made having a bath genuinely enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job — the bed was made every day with fresh sheets. Wi-Fi was also very fast, which was a big plus. Amenities were decent, and you can pick up extra items if you need them. Check-in is a bit late at 3pm, which I didn’t love, but that’s balanced out by an 11am checkout. Having that extra time in the morning made it feel worth it overall. I did have a couple of negatives. The strangest one was finding an old sock behind the TV when I arrived. It was very obvious and not hidden, so I’m not sure how it was missed during cleaning. It was a bit gross, but I just left it. Another downside was the mini fridge — it’s more like a cooler than a real fridge. It keeps drinks from getting warm, but they don’t get properly cold. In summer, this really wouldn’t be good enough. Replacing it with a proper mini fridge would be a big upgrade. The other major issue was the lift. It is painfully slow, and there’s only one lift for the upper floors. On checkout day, I left my room about 10 minutes before checkout time, and I almost didn’t make it downstairs in time because of how slow it was. That part was honestly pretty ridiculous. Location-wise, this hotel is excellent. It’s very easy to get to from Kyoto Station — just head south and you’re there in about 4–5 minutes. It’s also very convenient when leaving Kyoto by train. A tip for using the subway: instead of going back to Kyoto Station, walk right from the hotel to Shijō Station. It’s on the same subway line, you’ll get on before Kyoto Station, and the train is empty — so you’re almost guaranteed a seat and can ride comfortably to your destinations. For food and shopping, there’s a shopping mall just across the road toward the station with a Don Quijote, McDonald’s, and other options. The hotel is also right next to a Coco Ichibanya curry house, which is fantastic and open late. Overall, despite a few odd issues, this was a solid stay with a great location, good comfort, and very easy access to transport. I’d happily consider staying here again.

FFloria SThis hostel it is clean, good location, even if you are 2 km from main popular street is easy to get around. The issues: you can’t really sleep here if u get snoring people as ur neighbors rooms. I ve booked 7 days but I had to cancel the lasts 2 because was really hard to sleep and I was having only ~4h sleeping. And at 7/8 am people are already moving and waking up and because of the isolation of the ceiling(pic) is very easy to hear absolutely anything, any little move. In the first night staying here, after a person snoring so much until 2 am , it woke up go toilet and after it put reels on big volume at more than 2 am, I had to go all the way to knock at his door bcz I imagine it was a guy. The single issue with the mixed floor is this, if you put a girl with only men and they snoring, that girl can’t have any good sleep, if u put only girls and some men but they snoring, all girls will get mad bcz I wasn’t the single one after the first day. In the last night the snoring man wasn’t in the room anymore and they were more girls I ve heard. So if this hostel wants to make a mixed floor then I think they can think of putting only young people with young people and older people with older. Or maybe only 1 floor women and another men and the rest floor mixed idk. They can think of something. Also , there is water dispenser only at 5 th floor! Why they don’t have one next to reception? All the people from down have to climb all the stairs for a glass of water everyday until 5th? And there is the sharing space only at 5th floor where is the water too but again, a person that needs to talk to phone and to not destroy other peace , has to go or outside the hostel or in toilets or at 5th floor… it is a bit of a struggle these things. And for the double rooms u can put a small electric kettle for morning coffee I think and a glass and a spoon. To not get all the way up to 5th floor, if it wasn’t complicated to get all the way up I would have gone to make coffee there too but I tried one morning when I was still not awake and it was a bit of a struggle. That’s all. Oh. And the beds are really comfortable and very soft, too bad I couldn’t enjoy a good sleep in them. And after I canceled the lasts 2 days I didn’t receive back the city tax:)) is not big money at all but details makes the difference.

Very Good
AAnonymous UserHotel was in an ideal location and convenient to walk from Kujo station (which is less crowded than Kyoto Station) and beside a convenience store. Staff who checked in us was patient and kindly explained the calculation for the kyoto accommodation tax. We opted for no daily cleaning service which gave us a discount, instead new towels were hanged outside our door each day. The dining area was alright and we were able to find seats at the timing we went though it might be more crowded at certain times. Breakfast buffet had a good spread and the dinner menu was alright. The rooms I got were away from the road so it was quiet and since it was spring time, it didn't feel too hot/cold. The aircon in the room can be set to heater mode. The roads leading to the hotel are relatively quiet with fewer shops.
