"The hotel's biggest advantage is its location, very close to the metro station. You can take the elevator up to the second floor with your luggage and reach it within a 5-minute walk. It's on a main street, so no need to navigate narrow alleys, making travel very convenient. **A word of caution:** Be wary of small restaurants starting with 'S' nearby. While cheap, the food tends to be overly salty and the ingredients aren't very fresh. You can walk down the slope to the market for food, and you'll also find good Fado shows in the vicinity. The front desk staff are a bit cool. One female staff member was expressionless and didn't respond to greetings. It wasn't exactly bad service, but the experience was just average. English communication was barely passable, and they were quite rigid in their procedures. Early check-in, even with available rooms, incurs a 10-20 Euro charge. I was originally waiting until 4 PM to check in, but was only allowed to enter my room just before 3:30 PM. I specifically requested a quiet room, and was assigned a corner room backing onto a hillside. There was a persistent low-frequency noise throughout the night, and on the second night, frequent banging sounds, which disturbed my rest. The room's drainage was slow, and the hairdryer was faulty, requiring me to request another one from the front desk. The waste separation was difficult to adapt to. The recycling bins were four different colors, there were no garbage bags, and no simple signs to guide the sorting rules. Having been used to leaving garbage outside the door in other countries, I tried to do so here but was stopped by the front desk without any explanation. Overall, the experience was average. I wouldn't highly recommend it if you have other options."

"Nice clean comfortable hotel rooms. Shame that they accommodate too many children. In all fairness I was there for 3 nights the first 2 very good but on the last night, they must of put all the children on my floor. These children are at an age were they simply don't have the brain capacity to think. They were banging doors making noise till around 5 in the morning thus meaning I struggled to sleep. I did call down to reception to notify them earlier in the evening, to state I believe there is going to be a problem with these children through the night, obviously nothing was done because the noise continued. I understand that it's all about filling up the rooms, because it's more money for the hotel but if they are going to have youngsters, maybe it should just be an hotel for them only . In the future for future guests these children need supervision, this is surely the only way this would work if you are too continue to accommodate all different age groups."

"Great location and value for money! My husband accidentally left his wedding ring at the hotel, and we contacted the staff immediately. The team was incredibly professional and responsive. "The hotel is about 2-3 kilometers from the main attractions and passenger transport center, and about 450 meters from the nearest bus and subway station. "Everything else was great, except for the incredibly loud floor noise from the wooden floors. The creaking of the floorboards was truly extraordinary. The convenient transportation, good service, and ample breakfast were all excellent. The noise, however, was a major issue."

"The good: Very nice hotel, friendly staff, large rooms, breakfast provided a lot of variety and was tasty, room was very clean. The less good: shower size was a little small and the corner doors made it hard for the water to not get splashed onto the floor. "The hotel's location right in front of Boliao Market was excellent, making it easy to access all tourist spots. It's like a slightly larger, wooden capsule hotel, and the condition was surprisingly good, so it wasn't bad at all. The overall interior design of the hotel had a modern vibe, and there was a water tank (?) on the rooftop where you could dip your feet, though not actually swim. They offer a stylishly decorated Carlsberg as a welcome drink. However, the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak. Also, I went to check out the sauna on the second floor because it was advertised, but it wasn't working each time I went. There's a restaurant and bar on the ground floor, and it would probably be good to go during their open hours (though I didn't use them myself). Everything else was great. The staff were all very friendly too."

Must like it. This family hotel is very good, although the appearance is a bit old, but the interior is fully decorated and there is a small kitchen. The boss carefully prepared milk, juice, bread, fruit, etc., as well as coffee and wine! The yard is a beautiful garden with a variety of plants and flowers, as well as goldfish and places to wash and dry clothes. The boss warmly introduced the important local attractions and transportation points. In fact, the hotel is very close to the tourist center area, the subway is only one stop, and it is less than 2 kilometers away. Porto is not big, but there are rivers, seas, bridges, ancient castles, churches, stations, libraries, etc., not to mention all kinds of food, seafood, etc., prices are cheaper than Lisbon, it is worth a visit.

Last year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment. Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately. The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied. The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too. Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out. The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

One of the Best Serviced Apartments We’ve Stayed At This was easily the best serviced apartment we’ve stayed at recently. All the facilities were brand new, and the cleanliness—especially in the kitchen and bathroom—surpassed even some 4-star hotels. Everything we needed was provided, and the interior design was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. Great location, great price, great amenities. Here are a few potential downsides that might matter to some guests: • The internet was very slow. The Wi-Fi signal on the second floor was the strongest, so we used that, but it was barely sufficient for even checking emails. It felt as if the connection was intentionally throttled. If you need stable internet for work, tethering through your phone might actually be faster. • No elevator. Our unit was located on the second floor, and we had to carry about 30kg of luggage up the stairs ourselves. Even a small, old-fashioned lift would have been a huge help. • Noise from upstairs. Although the apartment was newly renovated, the flooring is still the original wooden structure, so noise from the upper floor can be heard. We were tired enough to sleep through it with earplugs, but sensitive guests should take this into account. Booking the top-floor unit might solve this issue, though that means climbing even more stairs. • Early check-in confusion. We had requested an early check-in, but it wasn’t communicated properly. As a result, we had to drop off our luggage at the YOUROPO office, which is about a 6–7 minute walk from the apartment. I wonder if we could’ve left our luggage directly at the property if the message had gone through properly—perhaps someone from the team could clarify? Despite these minor issues, I would still give this property a full 5 stars. If we visit Porto again, YOUROPO will be at the top of our list.

We stay in Porto for 2 nights and the apartment location is great, near to most of the attractions and there is supermarket nearby. There is free parking which is great to us.The Host is great and nice. We need to say that there is great service but not the hardware, our group is 5pax, the 5th person who stay in the living room with sofa bed, there is no curtain with a huge windows and no Air-con. The temperature is under 10c at the night time and my fd got a cold. One of the bedroom the air-con is not heated, even the host try to fix it, it didn’t work. The host offer a protable heater finally. We encountered a boiler issues on the first day, there is no hot water after 2 showers, we wait for a very long time to get the water heating, we need to have a very good plan on the second day to complete 5 showers. Lol

Pros - Location - easy access to Porto downtown area (3 metro stations to Sao Bento) - I choose travelling by metro as walking uphill and downhill in Porto is really tiring! - Room size as well as toilet - spacious enough even for two people, facilities - I like the kettle for boiling hot water. - Water from the shower very powerful and comfortable. - 2 bakery cafes nearby for taking breakfast (with reasonable price), one Chinese restaurant nearby provides hot food. Cons - Did not expect there was nobody at hotel front desk upon my arrival. With the help of a kind lady, I could communicate with the hotel staff via whatsapps and was able to check in without problem. ( I would like to say thanks to that kind lady) - No elevator, staying at lower floors is preferrable. - the room floorings had a cracking sound while walking, may be the building was a little bit old.

Clean and well-located, but AVOID the basement ‘double room’ The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and in a great location with friendly service. However, I stayed in the basement-level ‘double room’. It’s located at the front of the property, directly at street level, with two small windows facing the pavement — making it difficult to get fresh air or natural light, and quite noisy due to passing pedestrians and cars, even with the windows shut and earplugs in. The photos captures many of the other room types charming features, which can be misleading for the double room in basement. In this particular room, ventilation was poor due to its position, and a musty smell from the bathroom lingered throughout the space. Given the price of this ‘double room’, it’s better off booking elsewhere — somewhere less charming but more practical — OR booking the other room types I assume are upper-level room to avoid the drawbacks of this front-facing basement unit.

Very good, very good location, see the São Bento train station and the Porto church on the front and rear balconies, all walks can be walked. The kitchen is fully equipped and can be eaten by yourself. You can see the priest tower by pushing open the window, and the night view of the Douro River is beautiful! Porto is a beautiful city where you can drink coffee, drink beer and daze!

I travel from Malaysia to Europe all the way by train, please watch my YouTube Lonely Railway Explorer to know more. Before I booked this hotel, I read a lot of negative reviews in Trip.com, but I know all of the bad reviews are nonsense. As a professional traveller, I responsible to say, this hotel are worth of money, this room rate with private bath room, double bed, even they prepared safe for guests, and the cleanliness are 9/10, and just opposite the railway station, metro, location 10/10. If you stay here, I recommend you have your meal at restaurant just next-door before here, Churrasqueira da Estação de Campanhã, the grill and the rice you definitely need it, especially if you're Asian, but non halal. I will rate this hostel 9/10, because no hairdryer, and the bed sheet got smell, I think is because no sunlight. And the front desk family super kind.

Due to the unbearable noise from my previous Airbnb, I had to book this hotel last minute. The overall style is similar to the Ibis in Salamanca I stayed at before, but the cleanliness in the room here isn't as good as Salamanca, and the mattress isn't as comfortable either. It was fine for a one-night stay. The hotel's location is pretty good; you can walk to all the nearby restaurants and attractions, and there's a supermarket downstairs which is convenient for snacks and drinks.

I recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks. First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city.
