Newly finished in 2025, brand new and hand built 400 sq/ft cabin in the woods with two huge 6ft x 6ft windows looking out into the woods. This cabin is a labor of love - 90% of the wood used in the build was milled on site. The wood is as local as it gets, harvested from trees directly on the property. Located on 10 acres with several small ponds, you'll have direct access to 1.5 miles of private trails to hike or bike through a varied woodland terrain. Relax on the covered patio, or explore the area. Just 2 minutes to Cloudland Canyon State Park, 30 minutes to Chattanooga, 25 minutes to Rock City. In an effort to help unplug there is no Wifi, but there is a selection of DVDs, books, and games. Cell service is good and the cabin is accessed from a short (150ft) dirt driveway, and a 250 ft lighted walking trail from the parking area. Cabin amenities include an induction cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, and full size refrigerator as well as full size laundry. The cabin is private but you may be visited by our free ranging chickens, curious cat “Claire” or some of the many deer. Also, our family of 4 (two young children) live in the main house (250 ft away). Access and parking are separate. I'm a true fan of the outdoors and am well-versed in local hiking and biking trail information. Our home and the 5-STAR guest cottage sit on 11 ac. nestled in the valley on a hilltop between Lookout and Sand Mountains. Our driveway is over 400 feet long which allows lots of privacy. The cottage was built as a mother-in-law suite and sleeps two adults very comfortably, located across the driveway from our home. There is a pond that is about 1.5 ac and located along the lower driveway. We're located 1 - 3 miles from several good local and chain restaurants in Trenton, Georgia. Rock City, Ruby Falls, and Chattanooga, 20 -25 minutes. Ruby Falls features a 40-foot climbing tower with five routes of varying difficulty and 700 feet of rushing zip lines with amazing views of the Tennessee Valley! Also Lookout Mountain Flight Park- Hang Gliding and Paragliding Training Center. One of the best hang gliding experiences in the country is only 10 minutes away.Cloudland Canyon is only 10 minutes, hiking paths include the short Overlook Trail, strenuous Waterfalls Trail, and moderate West Rim Loop Trail. Mountain biking is available at the newly developed Five Points Recreation Area and along the Cloudland Connector Trail. Bright and colorful.Deer frequent the property, adding beauty to the surroundings. A variety of birds provide hours of bird watching. Summer months are wonderful for enjoying the many species of butterflies. While at the cottage, you'll feel like you're a million miles away, yet, you're conveniently located to the attractions of Chattanooga, Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain. Majestic views of the valley and incredible sunsets are a short walk from the property. The Lookout Mountain Flight Park (hang gliding launch site) is just at the end of the driveway. No aggressive dogs and no dogs that bark a lot. Dogs cannot be left unattended in cottage unless in a crate and must be own a leash when walked.
