We have a handful of family board and card games. This house has three levels of decks and surrounded by trees, you will feel like you are the only one in the forest. There are limited views of the lake.Location is key with this house and you are close to Lake Fontana, Bryson City, the Great Smoky Mountains, the Nantahala Gorge, Cherokee, and the Tail of the Dragon.Things to Know*Internet is available but can be spotty during bad weather, this is rare but can happen. We hope, if this happens, this is not an inconvenience but instead a perfect opportunity to have some quality time disconnected by playing games or connecting with the people and nature around you. The basement, game room, is not controlled by HVAC and can be cold in colder months and warm in warmer months. The third sleeping area is in a loft area with no walls to the lower level. This room has 2 beds, a couch, and private deck with great views out the windows.Full Kitchen: We have had no issues cooking a Thanksgiving dinner here for a family of 8.There is only 1 smart TV in the living room and it includes Netflix and Disney+ (Smart TV also means this does not work if internet is bad, feel free to bring a USB loaded device with your personal movies) This house has three levels and therefore a lot of stairs and a lot of deck space (Approximately 1500 sqft of deck)Parking: The parking space is small and tricky. We have had no issues with 2 vehicles but more than that and it requires you to, most likely, back down the long drive way. There is no way to turn a trailer around and should not be attempted. If you do bring a trailer you can inquire with one of the boat docks to see rules related to launching boats and parking trailers. I have seen trailers and trucks parked at the boat dock parking and at a number of places along the road, especially near the cemetery, but this is out of our control. Pets: We are sorry but pets are not allowed at this property, service or other. A member of our family is severely allergic to pets and we prefer to not have this complication in our life when we enjoy the property.Pontoon rentals available at Prince Boat Dock (1/4 mile), Fontana Village Resort Marina (17 miles), Almond Boat Dock (7 miles). Nestled on an acre in the Snowbird Mountains sits the “Hooked on Snowbird” Cabin, a blend of rustic accommodations and modern conveniences. The one level cabin is accessible by a private road located off a one lane bridge. The property backs up to the Snowbird Creek, which Game & Fish calls it “Trout Fisherman Friendly”. Go for a “Smokies Slam” (catch a wild Brown Rainbow and a Brookie in a single day’s outing). The screened back porch overlooks the Snowbird Creek. It is the perfect place for an early morning cup of coffee in one of the two rockers or at the dining set. The cabin has an open floor plan with a vaulted ceiling that stretches from the living room to the kitchen, which gives you all the room you can ask for. The living room is cozy with a gas fireplace, couch, love seat, recliner, smart TV and a view of the water. Enjoy watching and listening to Snowbird Creek from two of the bedrooms (the master and a guest), the family room and back porch. The master and guest bedrooms are on opposite sides of the cabin, everyone will have an added layer of privacy. The Master Bedroom is an ensuite and has a king size Purple RestorePremier™ Hybrid Mattress, walk-in closet and a smart tv. Both guest rooms have a queen size bed. The Blue Guest Room has a dresser and a closet. The Front Guest Bedroom has a small dresser, no closet. There is luggage racks provided in bedroom for your convenience.Both bathrooms have a tub/shower combo, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and individual bar bath soaps for your travel convenience. You will find everything needed in the kitchen with plenty of granite counterspace to allow easier meal preparation. Excellent Trout Fishing can be found on the Hatchery Supported or Delayed Harvest sections of the Snowbird, or take a drive to the Nantahala or Tellico Rivers, both of which are included in the Trout Unlimited list of the top 100 in the nation. For those wishing to tangle with a legendarily Steelhead Trout, the Snowbird becomes a special stream in the winter months with a run of Steelhead Trout from Lake Santeetlah.
