If you’re looking for a true cabin getaway with just the right amount of comfort and lots of outdoor adventure look no further!The famous heard of Elk regularly lounge behind our home and can usually be seen several times a day lounging and grazing. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cabin can comfortably sleep 6 with space for up to two more on the pull out couch. The entire cabin is 1,000 square feet. Each of the 3 bedrooms has a queen bed. There is a TV in the back bedroom and a large TV in the living room. Both are smart TVs and we are equipped with WiFi so you can log into your favorite app for movie night. We have newly installed central air. Enjoy some outdoor games (Cornhole, Jenga, Connect 4) in the backyard while the elk visit just beyond the chain link fence or spend your days hiking, off-roading, or enjoying the local markets and restaurants. We have a barbecue grill with propane tank. The front porch is a peaceful haven with a swing and couch. There is plenty of parking if you arrive in multiple cars. The kitchen is fully equipped and you are welcome to use any durable goods you find in the cupboards. Note - We do not have an ice maker or filtered water on tap. The dirt driveway is equipped with 30 amp and 50 amp plugins for an RV if you prefer separate living quarters with your guests however please note the driveway is steep and somewhat tight at the bottom. It takes an experienced operator and often 4 wheel drive to back a trailer or camper in. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions. Any vehicle will be fine for regular parking, 4 wheel drive is only needed for trailer parking.Dogs are welcome for a fee of $25 but we ask that you clean up after them. The backyard is fully enclosed by a chainlink fence to keep you fur family safe. There is an additional $50 fee for uncollected doggy doodoo. We also ask that you not leave them unattended in order to prevent any damage to our home or furnishings.The indoor fireplace shown in the photos is not operational. It does not vent properly and WILL fill the house with smoke. We have central heat and a back up gas furnace in case of power outages.No smoking in the home or backyard. Looking to get away for the weekend or for a week? This 1800 sq. ft. cabin is nestled among tall Ponderosa Pines, some 100 years old! A taste of paradise is only about an hour and a half drive from Scottsdale.The cabin is two stories, the main story being on the second floor. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. Upstairs there is also a bathroom, family room and kitchen. Downstairs there is another family room with another queen futon, bathroom and laundry room. This is the perfect set up for two couples or two families as it allows each some privacy. There are two televisions and DVD players, one in the master bedroom and the other in the downstairs family room. I have several movies you can borrow. WI-FI is also available.The deck wraps around the entire second floor so you can choose to sit in the sun or shade whichever you prefer. There is a gas BBQ and a hammock you can use. The cabin has three fireplaces; two wood and one gas. The wood ones are in the upstairs family room and master bedroom and the gas one is in the downstairs family room. There is a small fee for wood or you can bring your own. Don't forget to bring marshmallows to roast!The cabin sits on an acre and a half of land and backs the National Forest. It is quite private and quiet. If you walk into the forest about a quarter of a mile at dusk and you are quiet and lucky, of course, you could see elk, particularly in the summer and fall. I have seen up to 20 at a time! At the very least, you are certain to hear bugling in the middle of the night if you wake up. I have a book there that gives you all kinds of ideas as to what to do; hikes, fishing, swimming holes, restaurants, shops, etc. Everything you need is there. All you need to bring is your clothes and food.
