"Excellent hotel. Great staff. Great room. Well soundproofed, black out curtains and air-con that actually gets cool and hot enough, which is rare in hotels these days. The cosy room was bigger than expected and plenty big enough for a couple."

"Choose the hotel for its proximity to the Intermodal bus interchange. We walked to all the main tourist attractions from the hotel. Bilbao is a very walkable city. What sets this hotel apart is the friendliness of the staff. The front counter team is genuinely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Noemi who went out of her way to help us and gave advice on airline lost luggage. The room is spacious for our needs. The king bed is super comfortable, with just the right firmness. Linen is plush and pillows are fluffy. It has a simple yet functional tea-making facility in the room. The room came with USB charger by bedside, which is essential for today's travellers. We love the bathroom. Well-lit, full-size shower with strong water pressure. You will find the basic amenities (Toothbrush etc) in the bathroom. The cleaner did a good job with the room. The hall and public areas are all spotless. Judging based on the interior, the hotel might have been refurbished not that long ago."

"The room was clean, tidy, and fully equipped. It's conveniently located opposite the stadium, close to the Maritime Museum, Art Museum, and Guggenheim Museum, and next to a park and plaza. The service was excellent; the front desk staff were very welcoming and booked my room in advance, easing the fatigue of my long flight. I wanted to try the food, but I overslept and didn't have time, though the pictures and dishes looked very appealing."

"We had such a great time this year for Semana Grande. And the Axel Hotel was in the perfect location for us. Right on the river next to a great spot for drinks and food. The rooftop pool is also a great spot to watch the fireworks! The staff was so helpful and friendly. And although we didn't need housekeeping while we were staying there they offered every day to clean our room or swap out towels or necessities for us. What a great experience. We will definitely be back!"

"Fantastic hotel , spotlessly clean and room cleaned with towels changed although we were only there for 2 nights . Breakfast was Fantastic, a great selection to choose from and ideally located not too far from the town. Staff were also lovely and friendly , very helpful ."

"Pleasant apartment in a quiet suburb with friendly reception. Nearby is a supermarket, coffee shop and a good bar/restaurant. Transport to the center is also easy with bus 38 (get off at the 1st stop after the complex) or metro. In addition, the complex is somewhat noisy (contact sounds and slamming doors), the apartment does not work as an apartment, because there are no kitchen utensils. There is also no cleaning and there are soaps etc. The latter issues do not have to be insurmountable and then the price-quality ratio is good. I do wonder what the noise will be like when the students return."
