"We booked our stay back in September and arrived yesterday just before 2pm. We were told our rooms wouldn’t be ready until 2pm, which was fine, but when we asked if we could leave our luggage, we were informed it would cost £5 per room to store it.
At 2.25pm we returned to check in, only to be told again that the rooms still weren’t ready—yet suddenly we were offered luggage storage for free. Another receptionist then mentioned that one of our rooms was available, so we were able to leave all our bags there, which we appreciated.
As for the room itself: the carpet was heavily stained, and both the beds and the flooring were very creaky. The bathroom, however, was spotless.
On day two, we raised our concerns with the reception manager, who allowed us to store our bags free of charge. While this was helpful, the overall experience didn’t give us a great first impression of the hotel."
