"I suppose the charm of Atami is that the whole area is a little bit 'dated' as far as a resort goes, and this hotel definitely aligns with that - it seems like a place that was once great and is now kind of just rolling along bringing in what money it can. The food is serviceable but totally uninspired - an upscale cafeteria masquerading as something better than it is with 'chefs' wearing their whites. The entire dining room constantly smells of fryer oil from the tempura - which they still make and keep stock of in such large quantities that it is never fresh and crispy anyways (especially the shrimp, which has not been sufficiently dried before battering). The remaining hot dishes are very disappointing both in terms of variety and overall flavor. The sushi and sashimi is the standout of the food, although it too is very basic - not anything that will blow your mind, but acceptably tasty and reasonably fresh (although on our second night everything tasted a bit soapy/bleachy). As a westerner you will be very disappointed by the breakfast, although that's a 'me' problem rather than a hotel problem per se. The spa facilities are nice but a bit dated - be careful in your selection of both time and location unless you want to be surrounded with many loud (mostly Chinese) children. Private spas are available and are quite nice, although again dated. Nonetheless at around 60 USD for an hour the price is good for the privacy, especially as a westerner who is otherwise subject to quite a bit of staring at this mostly local and Chinese spa. We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was spacious with an enormous and comfortable bed, and a (For japan) reasonably sized tub. Room and desk service was good. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but has regular free shuttles to/from Atami station, which is where the main tourist streets for shopping etc can be found. Highly suggest checking out Golden Eye for some excellent Ramen."

"Hotel Resorpia Atami was an unplanned booking on my trip. I got stranded at Atami Station due to Typhoon No. 11, so I ended up booking this hotel. To my surprise, it exceeded my expectations: 1) The hotel is located by the sea and is a 10-15 minute walk from Atami Station. 2) All rooms face the ocean and there are Japanese-style tatami rooms, which felt very authentic. 3) The hotel has a large public bath (onsen) where you can enjoy a relaxing soak while watching the sunset or sunrise – it was incredibly romantic! I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"This resort hotel is perfectly located, spacious and right on the beach. The rooms are also spacious, and the balcony overlooks the Pacific Ocean – a truly stunning, unobstructed view. Your stay also includes a complimentary visit to the Fuua Infinity Ocean Spa, which is simply amazing, offering breathtaking views from the sky. The room was also very clean, and they used green tea-scented toilet paper. If I ever visit Atami again, this will definitely be my choice."

"Traditional hot spring-style inn, all meals in the room. The room has 2 floors, the lower level is the dining area, the upper level is the bedroom, washroom, bathroom, and a small patio area overlooking the beach. From Atami Station to the inn, it takes about 10 minutes to drag your luggage around the road. It takes about 5 minutes to walk up the stairs without luggage. It's about a 10-minute walk from the guesthouse to Atami Sunshine Beach to watch the fireworks festival. The inn staff was courteous, explaining what each dish was and how it should be eaten, and reminding us that it was time to leave for the fireworks festival. Although the cost of accommodation was greatly increased due to the fireworks festival, it was a good stay experience overall."

"I’m a little torn to rate the location average because it can be a pain to get to if you don’t have a car, but the view from the room (apparently all rooms have view of the sea) is great. A lot of variety for breakfast but nothing really stood out. I didn’t get to visit the onsen because they don’t allow tattooed people. I would stay again, especially in summer on a fireworks day!"

"Very traditional Japanese hot spring hotel, the dinner was super good, the service was also very good, it was a worthwhile experience. When I was leaving, the front desk helped me call a taxi, and knew that I was going to MOA, and provided discounted tickets"

"An amazing place to stay with a location which is near lots of restaurants and even a grocery store. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Also there are private hot springs on the top floor which are constantly available and free to use! Loved this hotel very much and it made the stay at Atami very magical and memorable. "The hotel is on the mountain and has a shuttle bus but it needs to be booked one day in advance. I have previously asked on trip.com or the hotel's official website but could not find any reservation method. On that day, I found the tourist information office in the Atami Station shopping mall and found out that the taxi fare was about 2,000 yen. So I took a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is older, but every room faces the sea and we could see the sunrise the next day. I booked a one night stay with two meals. I didn't choose buffet when I booked it. I went to the hotel to check and found out that dinner would be Japanese cuisine. The breakfast buffet is more varied and filling than dinner. The room has no bathroom, only a toilet. Take a shower in the large public bath. There is one large hot spring pool and three small ones. The men's and women's pools are adjusted in the morning and evening. There are also hot springs for rent. The worst thing about the hotel is the central air conditioning. It was very hot that day, but the vents only vented heating air, so I felt hot even when sleeping with the window open. 9-10:30pm: We provide late night snacks of delicious Dandan noodles. There is a small gift shop with coffee and green tea available free of charge. You can't see Mount Fuji from the hotel"
