"Very clean and modern Hotel, nice rooftop pool. The only thing I would complain about is the coffee at the breakfast. The taste is very watery and not strong as it should be. Also the cinnamon roll I bought from the restaurant was not fresh."

"Checking in to the Funny Lion in PPS after a week of touring Palawan felt like coming home and being able to finally relax. After seeing how beautiful the hotel is, we cancelled all the activities planned in the area and just focused on recovery and relaxation. The amenities are top-notch and the guests are isolated from the hot & dusty hussle and chaos. It was GREAT. Only wish we had a couple of extra days to enjoy it."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Comfort and Service at an Amazing Value! I had an outstanding stay at Best Western Plus The Ivy Wall Hotel in Puerto Princesa. From check-in to check-out, the staff provided excellent customer service — always warm, attentive, and eager to help with a smile. They truly made me feel welcome and valued throughout my stay. The room was immaculate, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was soft and cozy, the linens fresh, and everything—from the bathroom to the minibar—was spotless. I also appreciated how quiet and relaxing the atmosphere was, perfect for unwinding after exploring the beautiful sights of Palawan. One of the highlights of my stay was the morning breakfast buffet. It offered a great variety of local and international dishes, all freshly prepared and delicious. From tropical fruits and made-to-order eggs to Filipino favorites and good coffee, it was the perfect way to start each day. The dining staff were equally wonderful—friendly, efficient, and attentive. Considering the high level of comfort, cleanliness, and service, the affordability of this hotel is truly impressive. You get a 5-star experience at a very reasonable price, making it one of the best values in Puerto Princesa. I highly recommend Best Western Plus The Ivy Wall Hotel to anyone visiting Palawan. Whether for business or leisure, it’s the perfect mix of luxury, convenience, and Filipino hospitality. I’ll definitely stay here again!"

"The staff in the hotel are very accommodating. It’s a lovely place to lie by the pool after a day of island hopping. There’s live music in the restaurant/bar area at night."

"The staff were by far the best thing about this place! They were incredibly friendly and helpful. The place itself was good and the room was nice and clean but the bed was a little small and my husband is quite tall. There was a decent little swimming pool downstairs. We were only there for one night so didn’t really explore the local area but booked the firefly tour through the hotel which was a lovely little excursion. The breakfast was good and there were some decent veggie options on the standard menu!"

"We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights before heading to El Nido. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The view from the pool, overlooking Honda Bay, is simply breathtaking. The hotel offers complimentary airport transfers and shuttle service to/from Robinson's Mall. You can also conveniently book a minivan to El Nido directly through them. In my opinion, the breakfast was a bit underwhelming. Options included scrambled eggs/omelets, cereal, bread, jams, and butter. There was very little fruit and only one salad. The rice, soups, and other dishes weren't particularly appealing to a European palate (the meat and fish were too overcooked). However, the à la carte menu for dinner and lunch (which is paid) was, on the contrary, very delicious. The hotel itself is quite old. The furniture in the rooms shows its age. There was also a slight musty smell, although the cleanliness was maintained. The staff were incredibly pleasant and responsive. Overall, the hotel is suitable for 1-2 nights, but don't rely too heavily on the photos."

"Great hotel. It's a really big hotel too. Everything you need is here. A short 10 min motorcycle ride to town, the hotel organised the motorcycle rental very easily. Good wifi and a few pool areas are here. Keep in mind if you're using smart as your cell provider there is no service here but I think that's the case for everywhere outside of the town. When you land at the airport they have staff there to organise transport without even having to tell them which was a nice touch. I would stay here again without hesitation"

"First of all i would like to say thank you to all the staff in Carpe diem especially to Donald! ;) the guy at the reception i really appreciate the helpfulness, and also the treatment he gave us it was a delightful experienced i worked in a service industry too and this is really important to have those excellent service in order to sustain the business, whoever is the owner of this hotel please do appreciate the hard-work of Donald im really glad of what he did for us during our stay, the staff are well trained, and overall the room is huge, and clean the amenities are great:) Thank you Carpe diem! For those who checked a high quality type of service and good place to stay please choose carpe diem by the way the food is great they have a big serving its all fantastic but the most highlight of my stay is the service of Donald;) please send my regards to him M"

"Everything about this hotel was amazing, but most of all, the staff (hotel and restaurant) was excellent and the highlight of our stay. They were respectful, called us by name every time they would see us, and went out of their way to cater to our every whim. The view from the bar is amazing and their authentic Philippino cuisine top notch. I am not vegan or vegetarian but the vegan restaurant was excellent, I didn't want to eat anywhere apart from the restaurant hotels and portions were huge and very reasonably priced. We had a Seaview room and it was stunning. The room also has a mini fridge, a Dyson hairdryer, a TV with Netflix and Prime (log in with your own account), a safe and a swinging chair in front of the window. The balcony is small but has a bench and a drying rack. The hotel provides beach towels. They also provided free airport shuttles and arranged all our excursions. They don't have laundry services but there are laundry services within a few steps from the hotel. There are also a great bakery, ATMs, a night street market and plenty of other bars and restaurants within a short walking distance of the hotel. There isn't a phone in the room but the hotel uses WhatsApp to communicate and it worked super well. I would stay there again and can highly recommend!"
