"After comparing a few hotels, I still decided to go with Sofitel! And I'm so glad I did, it was a truly nice experience. Firstly, the hotel has a fantastic design; it doesn't feel old or dated at all, and the facilities are impeccably maintained, definitely five-star standard. Secondly, the billiard and ping-pong rooms are a real highlight! Thirdly, the service was incredibly thoughtful. It just so happened to be my birthday during my stay, and my butler, Xiao Qi, thoughtfully delivered a birthday cake – I was truly touched!"

"I am a little disappointed. Advertising said English speaking staff. One lady spoke some English but mainly used translator - which is fine - but communication was very difficult. I experienced the following issues: The room was extremely hot and it seems it’s centrally controlled. When I said it was too hot they didn’t adjust it but gave me a humidifier which didn’t help with temperature. When I was checking out I asked to help to call the taxi - their initial response was to walk - 15min. I have 3 heavy bags and am also feeling sick so I didn’t want to walk. I asked again later - they just said hi to the bus stop and get a taxi. I was surprised that they couldn’t be bothered to down with me and get one for me - knowing that I can’t speak Chinese - it’s few minutes of their time. They were standing around not doing anything anyway. So very disappointed overall. One positive is that they packed me a small takeaway breakfast for fist morning when I had to leave early. Please try to help your guests - small gestures of care makes a big difference!"

"This hotel is my top choice when staying in the city center. Its prime location makes getting around incredibly easy, and with the airport shuttle stopping right outside, catching a flight is a breeze. The rooms are well-equipped and functional, and the staff are friendly and proactive, handling all requests efficiently. The views from the high-floor rooms are exceptional; the city lights up beautifully at night, making for a truly comfortable stay. I highly recommend it! My only minor quibbles were with one of the cleaning staff. I asked for water twice but only received it the first time. The second time, she insisted she had already provided it. Some additional training might be beneficial there. Also, due to Qinghai's dry climate, a humidifier was necessary, but I noticed some limescale inside, so hygiene in that area could be improved. On a positive note, the front desk lady was absolutely wonderful and very thoughtful. She reminded us to buy oxygen canisters in the city for emergencies."

"The hotel lobby's decor was luxurious and grand, and the front desk staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, their smiles were truly heartwarming. I had originally booked a standard room, but the front desk agent thoroughly explained the benefits of a view room. After upgrading, the floor-to-ceiling windows offered an absolutely stunning view. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the mattress was perfectly firm yet comfortable. It was quiet at night, not noisy at all, making for an overall perfect experience."

"Check-in: The system was sluggish, and the front desk claimed the internet was down again. Room: We booked for two adults and one child, but the pillows weren't adequately provided. The mini-fridge price list for drinks was on the minibar, but the mini-fridge was empty, so what's the point of the price list? Bathroom: The liquid toiletries were of poor quality, yet they still branded them with the Sanyu logo. The hairdryer was a terrible choice. Breakfast: A complete disaster! No one to seat guests, it was chaotic, and despite many staff members, they were all just milling around with extremely low efficiency. Breakfast hours were 7:00-10:00, and we went at 8:30. The food quality was poor, and the kitchen's on-site management was terrible. I asked for an omelet, and they flat-out said no, only fried eggs, with a firm and take-it-or-leave-it attitude! I was shocked. How did Trip.com select this hotel? How do they supervise and evaluate it? The milk quality was poor, there was no freshly squeezed juice, the coffee was bad, the desserts and bread had no variety and poor quality, and the yogurt wasn't refrigerated nor was it on ice… Complaint Handling: I tried to find the F&B director at the restaurant, but it was the weekend, and he was off. No one in charge was willing to come out. I called Trip.com, who handled it professionally, and then I received a call back from a lobby manager who was clueless. I requested to speak with the hotel's duty manager, and the person who called back was a man responsible for the kitchen, which was fitting. He immediately asked how I wanted to resolve it, implying he wasn't really concerned. I listed out all the issues one by one, and he replied, 'Minor oversight.' Nothing was resolved. Additional points: 1) Unused 'clean' linens and bathrobes were stored in the laundry cart. 2) When checking out at 11:35, there was no one at the front desk, only two concierges, who said everyone had gone for lunch. Excellent management! 👍"

"Our Qinghai-Gansu grand loop trip ended perfectly. We stayed at this hotel on our first day of the journey and chose to stay here again on our way back. Coincidentally, the lovely front desk lady who checked us in on the first day was also there to greet us. The service throughout our stay was consistently thoughtful and reliable, making us feel incredibly warm and cared for after a long journey. A huge thank you to her for her enthusiastic and attentive care. If I ever travel to the Northwest again, I will definitely choose this place and look for her again!"

"We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is just opposite Xining Train Station and is quite convenient for transportation. The hotel room was clean but having cigarette smell even though I requested for non smoking room. The safe in the room was not working and the bathroom drainage was blockage. Most of the hotel staff here are not friendly and helpful. I would stay in other hotel if I visit to Xining again."

The apartment was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, making it a good place to rest after a day of exploring. The staff who handled my check-in were friendly, efficient, and welcoming, which made the arrival process smooth and enjoyable. A good option for travelers looking for spacious accommodation with the convenience of being connected to the Sofitel facilities."

"The hotel is quiet, with a nice decoration style. It is very comfortable, which is my favorite style. The room has a wide view, and the park opposite is beautiful. The hotel facilities are complete, and free parking is available. The guest rooms are cleaned very cleanly, and the room is also very tidy. The front desk staff is very enthusiastic and upgraded the room type for me for free. The service is very good, especially considerate, and solves various problems for us. The location is good, travel is convenient, and the cost performance is also very high. It is highly recommended and makes people feel very comfortable."
