Room is a little small but it is understandable as majority of the hotel room in Tokyo is small. Love the customer service and happy that they provide luggage storage service as this make our trip easier without carrying the luggage around all the time
The stuff is very polite and friendly. The room was quiet big in comparison with the previous places I lived in Japan. It was quiet clean but the furniture and the bedding was very old and worn. Anyway I give five stars cause you shouldn’t expect a lot for a such cheap price. And it’s in the middle of the city, so it quite convenient.
The hotel location is the best, only four minutes walk to the Tokyo station. The room size (17-sqm) is small which is pretty standard of Japanese hotel and good enough to sleep at night. From 11:00-22:00, there are free drinks, including water, soda, tea and coffee at the lobby which is very refreshing after a long day outside.
There are also free amenities available for you to pick up at the check-in counter as well, such as facia mask, lotion, food pad, etc. The hotel staff can speak English very well and friendly. I will consider coming back here for my next trip.
The location is good; it's convenient to get around from the apartment both on foot and by subway. The room itself was a decent size, and with a bit of maneuvering, we could open our suitcase. It was comfortable for a 190 cm tall person. Now, for the downsides: there were no nightstands (they seemed to have been there once, judging by marks on the walls – not a nightmare without them, but still incredibly inconvenient); a broken chair missing a nut (every time you sat down, if you leaned too much, you could fall); a smell of dust and old socks (it seems the air conditioner is very dusty and hasn't been cleaned in a long time, and there's poor natural ventilation in the room); very superficial cleaning (dirty stains on the kitchen stove and cabinet doors, and other people's hair in the bathroom); and worn-out bedding (dusty and pilled). All these details significantly hampered a comfortable stay – we had to buy an aromatherapy candle and a lint roller.
Stayed at the KOKO Nihonbashi Hotel and really enjoyed the experience. Nice neighbourhood. The room had a nice view — I could even see the Tokyo Skytree from my window, which made the stay feel special.Although a bit further from the main shopping streets, the subway station is less than 5 minute away, making it super convenient to get around. The room layout gave it a more spacious feel.
Just a suggestion- maybe consider to provide water dispenser as we only got 2 bottles daily which is definitely not enough.
This hotel is super close to JR Hatchobori Station's B2 exit, which is great because it has an elevator – a huge plus when you're lugging suitcases around. You can also get to Disneyland directly via JR without any transfers. I took a bus from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station, then hopped on the JR line to the hotel. Besides JR, there are other subway lines nearby, making it convenient for shopping in Ginza. While there aren't tons of restaurants and convenience stores right around the corner, there are enough to get by. The room layout is classic Japanese style, but I loved that they utilized the space under the bed for luggage storage. Cleanliness was also top-notch; my room was cleaned daily.
Oh dear, I forgot to write a review, my apologies!
This is my second stay at this hotel.
Let me start with the conclusion: whenever you go to Tokyo or anywhere in Japan, if there's a Mitsui Garden Hotel in that city, just book it without hesitation.
For the same price range, I personally think it's an exceptionally high-standard hotel among its type.
Regarding this specific hotel, first, the location is excellent. From Marunouchi North Exit, it's about a 10-minute walk straight ahead, a very easy route to remember. The city views along the way are great, and there are various subway lines nearby.
The room size is just right, and the facilities are perfectly adequate for a solo traveler. From the 6th floor upwards, each floor has vending machines for drinks and ice makers. One of the vending machines is specifically for alcoholic beverages, clearly marked. When I came in July, I visited them several times a day; this winter trip, I went less often.
As for service, it was absolutely perfect... According to the policy of most Japanese hotels, check-in time is 3:00 PM. My Shinkansen from Toyama arrived in Tokyo at 2:00 PM. Since I had plans to meet a friend that evening and needed to shower and change, I discussed with the front desk lady if I could pay for early check-in. The result was that I didn't have to pay, and she asked me to wait a moment. About 10-15 minutes later, I was able to enter my room. I'm truly, truly grateful.
Regarding breakfast, the dining area isn't huge, but it's one of the rare places that offers different food options every day. This means even if you stay for 3 or 4 consecutive days or more, you can still look forward to breakfast.
So, if you're coming to Tokyo and need a quiet environment amidst the hustle and bustle, a comfortable room, and attentive service, I highly recommend this place.
Location: Right by the subway station, not far from Ginza or Shinjuku.
Facilities: Exceeded expectations! The room wasn't as small as I thought, and coming back to a bath and a cold beer after a long day of walking was just perfect.
Service: Good. Communication with the front desk was smooth.
Highlights: There's a FamilyMart downstairs and a Lawson within a two-minute walk. Plus, there's a great coffee shop just around the corner.
This hotel exceeded expectations. It is small. It is very convenient for Tokyo Stations. There is a large shopping centre nars and shops nearby. It is close to Kyobashi underground statiin. The staff are wonderful. very helpful and courteous. The rooms are small but have everything you need. beds are firm but comfortable. We were moving around japan but coming back to this hotel for the last night so we could store one of our cases at the hotel FOC while we travelled. I would hight recommend this hotel.
Very good service. Convenient location. The room I originally booked was really too small with hardly any space to walk, so I paid for an upgrade to a 20 sq m room and the size was more decent. The original room in the photos are the usual size of Tokyo hotels but the layout makes walking across the room very inconvenient and there's hardly space for suitcases.

Great
EEli YeowIt was my second time staying in this hostel in about 8 years and it is still the most comfortable sleep I've had in a dormitory bunk (I even overslept a couple of times) in Tokyo. The toilets and shower areas are the most spacious as well. The location is great as it is near multiple metro stations as well as JR Bakurocho station which allowed me to utilise my Tokyo metro pass and JR pass without issues. The service staff are excellent as well. The storage lockers were a little small but sufficient for usage.
GGuest UserExtremely satisfied. The service was excellent, and the attention to detail was impressive. The bathroom had a drying function, and the toilet had an automatic deodorizer, so there was no odor whatsoever. The location is very convenient, with three metro stations nearby. The hotel primarily hosts Western guests, and most of the staff speak English, so even if your English isn't great, you can still get by with gestures. The restaurant is small but open all day, offering a comfortable place to relax with free coffee, hot water, and nuts. It's also exceptionally quiet. The only minor issue was that the curtains weren't blackout enough, so the room got bright around 4:30 AM.
GGuest UserGreat. Large space. Cheap. Various pictures and logos. Comfortable mattress. Check out at 12 noon. The most comfortable room I stayed in in Japan.
HHuahuahualvlvThe hotel is conveniently located near the Ningyocho subway station exit, making travel easy, and you can take a direct subway line to Haneda Airport. The hotel staff are very helpful and welcoming, and they even lend out umbrellas if it rains. The room was clean and tidy, and the three-piece bathroom in the triple room was a definite plus. Breakfast was also good. The only downside is that bottled water isn't provided in the room.
GGoldipityWe extended our stay despite very bad service in the restaurant and no hospitality attitude from front desk when I shared we are celebrating my husband’s birthday. All aspects of the hotel are good but service on all fronts is terrible :(
GGuest UserHotel was very clean, and adequate for our requirements - it's located in a quiet area, yet within walking distance to stations, Akihabara, etc. Kanda has a few convenient restaurants and bars that open till late as well. A 7-11 is next door, for those snacks and what not. Overall, highly recommended!
TTangtangtangtangPros:
1. Right across from the hotel is Torikizoku, open until 4:30 AM. This was a lifesaver for us after our flight was delayed and we arrived in the middle of the night.
2. The next day, getting a taxi to Tokyo Station was incredibly convenient, taking only 5 minutes.
3. The front desk staff were very professional. When we arrived close to midnight, the elderly gentleman on duty was still meticulously attentive. The two young men at the front desk the next day during checkout were also very enthusiastic and even helped us call a taxi.
The only slight drawback was the air conditioning. There were two adults and two children, and one child slept on the top bunk. They woke up in the middle of the night feeling hot and stuffy in their chest. We didn't know why at the time, but realized the next day it was likely due to the hot air from the AC rising. I suggest putting a small note in the room with tips for those sleeping on the top bunk regarding AC usage.
FFubutianHoshinoya Tokyo is situated in a tower in Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, uniquely blending a traditional Japanese garden with a high-rise hotel concept. While its immediate surroundings are dominated by corporate offices like Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, its location isn't as prime as other similarly priced luxury hotels such as The Peninsula Tokyo or Bulgari, with a noticeable lack of nearby dining options or convenience stores.
The service, on the other hand, truly made guests feel at home. Each floor boasts a dedicated Japanese-style common area, but the atmosphere felt a bit too rigid or rule-bound. For example, when I asked for a second welcome dessert, it wasn't possible.
However, I would strongly advise against staying here for a business trip. Firstly, the hotel's policy of not allowing unregistered guests to enter is quite inconvenient and arguably unsuitable for a business-oriented establishment. Secondly, the hotel itself offers a rich array of experiences – from its two-Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant to kimono fittings, tea ceremonies, kendo classes, hot springs, and sightseeing bicycles. These features highlight its strong appeal for leisure travel, making it less ideal for business.
ひひとり遊ぶThe dorm room was very quiet, and the futon was so fluffy and comfortable that I slept really well. Since I was on the bottom bunk, the light peeking through the gap above the curtain bothered me a bit, but once I put on a hot eye mask, I had no trouble sleeping. I'd read reviews saying the hairdryer was weak, but it seems they've replaced it, as it was powerful and dried my hair quickly. If you're someone who doesn't fuss over minor details and just wants a safe, comfortable place to sleep, this is for you! The location is great, and I think it offers excellent value for money.
GGuest UserHow do I put this? The room was incredibly small, even by Tokyo standards. The soundproofing was poor – I could hear conversations from neighboring rooms while in the hallway, and noises from the hallway were audible in my room. Also, housekeeping wasn't daily (only twice during my 10-day stay). If you can overlook these points, then it's conveniently located, the facilities are well-equipped and clean, and they even deliver packages directly to your room during the day! For a short, basic stay, it offers decent value for money. A fair assessment for a rational consumer.
