"Beautiful location, friendly, helpful dining room staff and manager, nice balcony overlooking the lake, clean, comfortable room, short walk along the road to a private beach and to the swimming pool across the road. However…....very basic clothes storage, no shelf in shower. 'Personal toiletries' consisted only of a tiny bottle of shower/shampoo wash. No air conditioning in bedroom - our iPhone charger went into charging hold one night due to the excessive room temperature. Breakfast was fine with a good choice on offer, afternoon coffee/tea would have been more enjoyable accompanied with a biscuit! Basic repetitive side dishes and desserts every evening with little thought given to providing tasty vegetarian main dishes. Seemed all too much bother for the elderly owners who were very rude and unwelcoming. In my opinion, not a 4-star hotel, unsatisfactory and definitely not value for money."

"Plus points: the lake is beautiful (though access is down a hill, across a busy road and over the train tracks). The dining room staff were excellent and professional. Breakfasts were also fairly good. However: No AC, so room temperature never dropped below 27c No insect covers on the windows - when we tried to cool the room at night we instead had to deal with lots of mosquitos. You wont sleep well here in the summer. Family room was very small, with a permanent musty, stale smell and a damp feel. Strong smell of cigarettes and petrol in the corridor (flowing up from the car park) while from the window and balcony came kitchen fumes. Dinner was passable but if you have any dietary concerns you should avoid it (even if you inform them well in advance). While the staff were generally excellent and professional, if you encounter the owners themselves you will be utterly shocked by the contrast! In short, avoid."
