Hotel Petit Palais ★★★

"The hotel has beautiful views of the Matterhorn and is a short walk to the main gondola, although can sometimes be a slippery walk to it. The walk into town is approximately 10-15 minutes down some slippery steps. The walk from where the coach drops you off is also 10-15 minutes uphill, most other hotels put on a mini bus but this hotel just transport your suitcases. The hotel is clean and tidy and the rooms are perfectly adequate. The food here is just ok, the hot and cold starters are self service with the hot starters usually being cold - we avoid any chicken or fish hot starters just in case. The next two courses are table service but small portions- you select your choice at dinner for the following day. In general the food was ok if the hot starters had been warm the amount of food would have been fine. The ski hire in the shop had limited options and was worn compared to the hire shop quality in town. The boot room isn’t big enough for the amount of guests and skis and snowboards are dumped on top of other skis. It’s a three star hotel, hopefully the hotel listen to the reviews and try to improve the food and ski hire. I would still go back to the hotel due to the price however I would probably hire skis etc from the town next time. I would also ask for a Mountain View room as it’s stunning."

"We had an appartment which contained a nest of badbugs. The first moprning we didn't notice, but the second i had over 20 bites, and searching through the bed we fouind some. When we alarmed the staff, they started decontaminating the room, and later told us they found a nest. The staff was helpfull and sorry for us, however it ruined our holiday completely. Found 28th February"

"Third time staying in one of the apartments at Aux Pieds du Roi. As always a friendly welcome, comfortable stay and the children especially enjoy the pool after a day on the slopes. Great combination of self-catering plus access to hotel breakfast and all the facilities."

Maison Le Cler ★★★

"Let's start by saying that the B&B is very beautiful and our room (Joseph Louis) was very nice, well-furnished, welcoming, and clean, although it was really poorly soundproofed (we could hear everything going on in the adjacent or above room). The location is strategic for watching the "dezarpa," and the nearby highway, on the other hand, doesn't disturb the peace at all. The breakfast, which we had read was gargantuan, we found good, with genuine, homemade products (we asked for soy or oat milk, but they didn't have any). What really ruined our stay was the intense cold we suffered in the room. Since it was a rainy weekend with outside temperatures between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius, we asked several times if the heating could be turned on; we were told that the central heating would come on at 7:00 PM. In reality, it was turned on around 8:00 PM and turned off around 10:00 PM, while the next morning it never came on. It's a shame, because Mrs. Mara's kindness was truly exceptional, and she was very helpful and thoughtful (we even had the room available until the afternoon). Definitely worth considering in the height of summer, but avoid at the end of the season."

"Talking about this hotel is both very easy and very difficult. The first undertaking makes me be concise: it borders on perfection! The second raises the need to explain why! Luca at the reception is a courteous young man, discreet and prompt in fulfilling any request. the Metre, Gianfranco, assisted by the excellent Cristian and Valentina, exhibits a liveliness of spirit and wit that overshadow the very high competence and professionalism. The ski service made me appreciate Vlad's concern and friendliness. The wellness center is managed by two "fairies", Michela and Chiara, who accompanied me every day along the entire regenerating and complete path. At the bar I met the very sweet Giorgia, a sensitive and intelligent girl! What I personally appreciated most was the skill of the ski instructor Maurizio Sertorelli, a loving host, also in relation to the rare ability demonstrated by the owner, to select a harmonious and first-rate staff! The SERTORELLI slogan is a promise kept over the years!"

"This is a beautiful, recently renovated hotel in Cervinia. Gorgeous rooms, fine dining (open kitchen) restaurant with creative and beautiful dishes, an incredibly stunning pool and wellness center with sauna, steam and Turkish baths. The hotel is small and we felt extremely well treated by the friendly staff. The hotel is just outside town and accessible via the hotel’s private Mercedes Benz shuttle. They also offer a discount on ski rentals."

"Where to start with this amazing hotel. The food was fantastic, loads of it and lots of variety. All cooked to order with a massive buffet to choose from as well. Couldn’t have asked for more. The local of the hotel was perfect. Ski in ski out was literally out the front door and with perfect locker room to leave your skies. (Also the skiing is amazing ) And lastly the incredible staff at this hotel I can’t speak highly enough of. Nothing was to much trouble. Super super helpful in every way. All the facilities were spot on. The kids loving the games room. Honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough. If you’re reading this please ignore all the bad reviews. Me and my wife can’t understand any of them. They are so wrong. We will certainly be going back."

"What a place! Fantastic service - incredible attention to detail by all the staff. Lovely boutique feel - warm and cosy and totally original. Apres-ski drinks by the huge fireplace. Rooms very comfortable and well equipped. Superb restaurant and wine list. Lovely, spacious and well laid-out spa with everything you need and massive windows to gaze out from at the snow whilst recovering tired limbs in the pool. I don’t usually write reviews but our stay here was so good i really wanted to write something. Shout outs to Edmundo - incredible driver who was always there within minutes and did everything for us to get us to the slopes and back, Bianca on reception - organising anything in minutes and Davide and Joseph on the bar - great cocktails! We will be back!!"
